From reading various information it has sounded like Mercurial works better on Windows, but other information claims that Git has caught up and surpassed Mercurial in offering quality Windows and Visual Studio tools. Does anyone have good recent information or experience with trying both in a .NET development environment?

  • Trying to provide a global logging function

    I typically write my scripts with a structure like s #!/usr/bin/python import stuff def do_things(): print "FOO" def main(): do_things() if __name__ == "__main__": main() The problem I have is I'd like to have a logging function that is defined globally and I"m not really sure how to do this. I tried a decorator function but if I define it in main I can't call it from other functions in the script. It seems like something that should be easy to do but not something I have experience with.

  • YouTube .Net API - Not getting correct View Counts

    I've managed to plug away through the YouTube documentation, and have managed to successfully implement the majority of what I want to work. My question is, I get the video View count and it comes back lower than the actual video on YouTube. It was fine this morning and both showed correctly, but now my version is out by 4 views. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or can tell me if they update the values every 5/10/15/24 hours?

Should an application even bother supporting SOCKS5 as an HTTP proxy? What percentage of organisations use SOCKS as a HTTP proxy? If you work in an organisation where you use SOCKS5, particularly authenticated SOCKS5, as the means of achieving HTTP Internet connectivity I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts.     Hi! Is it possible to get Flash Media Interactive Server working in conjunction with MogileFS? What it boils down to is that I need FMIS to fetch the FLV files from MogileFS over HTTP. As far as I can tell, however, the FMIS can only fetch and stream files from a local store :/ Anyone have experience with this or other ideas? Thanks!

  • AS3 Components in Flash Designer

    In an ActionScript 2 project I can create a new MovieClip, right-click on it on the library and select "Component Definition" to add parameters that can be referenced inside the MovieClip. This parameters can be easily changed in the MovieClips's properties. Now, I'm working on an ActionScript 3 project but haven't been able to figure out a way to obtain the values passed in those parameters. I defined a parameter named "textToDisplay" but when I write the following in the Actions for the first frame I get an error: trace(textToDisplay); This is the error: 1120: Access of undefined property textToDisplay. Do you know how to capture the value of that parameter? Thanks PS: I'm using Adobe Flash CS3 Professional on Windows XP

    before answer me plz thinking about the futures of these kind of program and answer me plz. I wanna get some data from oracle server like: 1-get all the function,package,procedure and etc for showing them or drop them & etc... 2-compile my *.sql files,get the result if they have problem & etc... becuz I was beginner in oracle first of all I for solve the second problem I try to connect to sqlPlus by RUN sqlplus and trace the output(I mean,I change the output stream of shell and trace what happend and handle the assigned message to customer. NOW THIS PART SUCCEED. just a little bit I have problem with get all result because the output is asynchronous.any way... [in this case I log in to oracle Server by send argument to the sqlplus by make a process in c#] after that I try to get all function,package or procedure name,but I have problem in speed!so I try to use oracle.DataAccess.dll to connect the database. now I m so confusing about: which way is correct way to build a program that work like Oracle Developer! I do not have any experience for like these program how work. If Your answer is I must use the second way follow this part plz: I search a little bit the Golden,PLedit (Benthic software),I have little bit problem how I must create the connection string?because I thinking about how I can find the host name or port number that oracle work on them?? am I need read the TNSNames.Ora file? IF your answer is I must use the first way follow this part plz: do u have any Idea for how I parse the output?because for example the result of a table is so confusing...[i can handle & program it but I really need someone experience,because the important things to me learn how such software work so nice and with quick response?] All of the has different style in output...   • Do you think its user unfriendly to show error message in tooltips ?

    Hello, when my user enters data validated as wrong a red circle with a white exclamation mark is shown in the right part of the textbox with the wrong data. The error message is only shown when the user hovers the textbox with wrong data. Do you think that is a bad User experience ? I could show the red error message text to the right side of the textboxes if there would still be space...

  • Easy command line Java compile

    So I have to send a java project to someone outside our company who has no experience with java and they need to compile it. Is there an easy way to do it on the windows command line that does not require writing out lists of the files? Personally I think javac should be smart enough to handle javac * when in the folder just under the root of the package hierarchy. Is there anything in this ballpark?
