  • Good or Bad experiences with CryptoLicensing?

    I'm planning to buy CryptoLicensing but before buying it I'd like to get some feedbacks if anyone tried it before. Also it'd be interesting if anyone cracked it or spotted an easy hack against it. I've seen some other SO questions regarding the choosing a .NET licensing component but if you currently happy with another component it'd be nice to hear your experience. It's just quite hard to nail this without going through a long trial.

  • form inside tabview doesn't work

  • .net - invoke methods from classes from a certain namespace via reflection

    SPL and PHP allows you to create objects on the fly from classes, that fulfill certain conditions, such as implementing certain interfaces and stuff like that. However, I would like to do something similar in c# and automatically create objects from all classes in a namespace and invoke a particular method from those classes that implement a certain interface. My experience developing desktop apps is very limited. I am not quite sure if I should use delegates to archive this or if reflection is really the way to go.

    Hi! Is it possible to get Flash Media Interactive Server working in conjunction with MogileFS? What it boils down to is that I need FMIS to fetch the FLV files from MogileFS over HTTP. As far as I can tell, however, the FMIS can only fetch and stream files from a local store :/ Anyone have experience with this or other ideas? Thanks!

    Hi, I have recenlty stumbled into Zend Lucene port of Lucene project. I have a little bit experience with SOLR so I would like to know what is the difference between two of them especially from performance and installation side. As much as I know SOLR requires Tomcat serverlet running in web hosting in order to work, what about Zend Lucene library? I am also a bit confused what means "being implemented on the top of Lucene"?

In another computer, everything seems fine. I prefer to download the template itself once (and have it cached) rather than processing the template on the server. About to expand to build new community site (to migrate our member base to) where the users will be able to msg each other, post to forums, blog, share private group discussions, and members will be sent inivitations to earn compensation for their expertise. Profile pages, job postings, and video chat would be plus. Already have a team of admins savvy with web apps to help manage it but our developer resources are limited (3-4 programmers) and looking to save time in development as opposed to building our new site from scratch.

    I seem to have two options on how to implement arrays, and I want to know which I should go with: Use the ARRAY data type and (from what I understand) effectively serialize data objects into the database (which in my case are just wrapped primitive types; don't know of another way to make this work). Use a separate table and map with foreign keys for each array item. If you have experience with this (especially with H2), which would you recommend?

Both of these things seemed pretty ubiquitous across the corporate software world, however I recently visited a few companies that use PHP/Ruby and nearly all their devs had facial piercings/visible tattoos, etc. and their offices had no apparent dress code. This might sound funny, but it made me wonder, is there any correlation between specific technology and office culture?     Hi, i have a large dictionary I'd like to save. I have pickled it using cPickle.dumps and saved the result into a TextField. When trying to retrieve it (cPicle.loads) i get the following error: loads() argument 1 must be string, not unicode Does anybody have any experience in serializing python objects and storing them in a DB using Django?   • Looking for a good course/book/resource on modern databases

    This is slightly embarrassing. I'm a professional developer working at one of the big tech companies and I've never used a database. I've got an idea for a website I want to build as a learning experience and possibly as a business, but I don't have the faintest idea what database to use, let alone how to fix/debug the database when I run into problems. I'm looking for a course, a website, a book, etc., that will give me an overview of modern database technology (SQL vs. NOSQL vs. relational vs. non-relational (I only have a vague idea what these even mean)). I'm starting by googling/wikipediaing all of these terms, but if there are better, comprehensive resources available that I should be aware of, I'd love to hear about them.
