  • Script to create ODBC connection

    I need to deploy some software through SMS/SCCM and the software requires that an ODBC connection be created in Windows. The connection information I was given requires a user name and password. I have a batch script to import the connection information into the registry, however I don't know how to go about putting the user name and password in.     .NET Framework 3.5. I'm trying to calculate the average of some pretty large numbers.     I am creating a Windows Mobile Application in C# and Visual Studio 2008. The application will have 5-6 main 'screens'. There will also be bar (/area) with information (e.g. a title, whether the app is busy, etc) above the screens, and a toolbar (or similar control) below the screens with 5-6 buttons (with images) to change the active screen (i.e. the screens will share the top bar and toolbar) What is the best way to implement this? Use multiple forms, and just include the toolbar and top-bar in each Use a single form and something like the Tab control (but customised) to contain the screens Something else? Keeping in mind a) memory usage and b) time to switch screens. Thanks in advance. Any links, pointers etc are much appreciated.

    Hi, all Currently I am doing a project involves a bluetooth communication setup between a PDA and a small embedded device. This small embedded device can only be communicated with a virtual serial port over a bluetooth link. The PDA is the ipaq running with windows mobile 6, and I am using c#. I had done a program which can communication with the serial port over bluetooth. But the only issue is every time I run this program, I have to active the bluetooth radio, and manually pairing this device with the pda via the bluetooth manager. What I want to do is when running this program, it can establish the bluetooth connection between the pda and the embedded module. So I am using functions from the 32feet prject. This is one issue is I cant make the virutal serial port part, as I think the 32feet project can only make virual serial ports for the window bluetooth stack but not the widcomm bluetooth stact, which the ipaq is using. Therefore, are there any existing c# classes or stacks that can make virtual serial port under widcomm for windows mobile 6. Thanks

  • Passing jQuery object and WebMethod return value to an OnSuccess function

    I am calling a WebMethod from this code: if($(this).attr("checked")) { .. MyWebMethod(variable1, variable2, onSuccessFunction); } The MyWebMethod returns an integer, and I want to set $(this).attr("id") of the jQuery object above to the returned integer. Basically, I'm trying to do the equivalent of an MVC Ajax.ActionLink...AjaxOptions {UpdateTargetID =...} However, I can't figure out how to get both a reference to $(this) as well as the returned value. For example, if I do: MyWebMethod(variable1, variable2, onSuccessFunction($(this))); I can succesfully manipulate the jQuery object, but obviously it doesn't have the return value from the MyWebMethod. Alternatively, the first code block with a method signature of onSuccessFunction(returnValue) has the correct return value from MyWebMethod, but no concept of the jQuery object I'm looking for. Am I going about this all wrong?
