I cloned my windows 7 installation on c: to external hard drive. I applied usb patch using pwboot and i could successfully boot into windows. But My problem is even though i am booting in to external hd the file reference and system path is pointing to c: on my internal hard disk. If i remove internal hd and boot it will get stuck at login screen. Is there any way i can force drive letter c: to my boot partition on external hd while booting from it.
So I install Apache2 worker with libapache2-mod-fastcgi (non-free) on my Debian server.
I found this snippet from the web, however, I don't have anything in my /usr/lib/cgi-bin/ folder. So how is my php working when I view phpinfo() ???
<IfModule mod_fastcgi.c>

Hey,
Is anyone running Zend Server under Daemontools?
I know I can use -D NO_DETACH to run apache under daemontools. But, I'm not sure if the other Zend Server components (monitor, lighthttpd, scd, jobqueue) have similar options.
(The end goal is "run Zend Server with service supervision", so upstart would be fine too. For reference, my servers are running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.)

We have an application that uses Active Reports documents. You pass a document the UNC of the printer and away it goes.
We have a group that runs this application within a Citrix session and the truly networked printers function perfectly but shared printers that work well outside of Citrix become unreachable.
Printers do not need to be defined on the machine running the report for the system to work. There is something in the way Critrix passes the information to the destination UNC that I don’t understand.
Hello fellows, I need some advise here for default.vcl. Here's the rules:
1) Only cache pages with urls that contains '/c/', the rest will pass
2) Set the cache expiry to 3 hours
3) Only cache and server from cache if cookie 'abc' and cookie 'xyz' is empty
Thank you!
Is it possible, to achieve the proposed behavior on my FreeBSD 8.2 server:
New user ssh's into my server. He supplies as 'Login:' his student index number and a new, locked account is created with random password that is sent to his [email protected] mail as authentication method.
After he logs in with this password, account is fully created and activated/unlocked and the user is asked/forced to change the pass for a new one.
It is possible to use the include = /somepath/%u.smb.conf in the global section to call a script /somepath/cb0.smb.conf if the user cb0 connects to the samba server.
Unfortunately this does not wotk for me because testparm alway gives me
Can't find include file /somepath/.smb.conf
When I connect to the server I can enter a username and pass but it alway rejects the connection.
I'm using Samba Version 3.2.5
How can I achieve to load a custom user script depending on the user that is connecting ?
Im using squid as a reverse proxy to host multiple web servers on one internet IP. It works fine and has been doing so for the past few months. I have just noticed that every request sent to my servers is logged as comming from the squid servers IP address.
Is there anyway to make squid pass the originating IP to the web servers?

I have Nagios, and I want it to stop monitoring instances when they are stopped from the console. The requirements are:
The message passed from AWS is 100R% reliable, e.g. when Nagios is down, and the message cannot be delivered, it will be re-delivered promptly when Nagios is up
The message will pass quickly
There is no need to scan status of all instances via EC2 API all the time, but only once a while
Many thanks!
Since I discovered gnupg.vim I've really started using gpg encryption on daily bases. This addon takes care of decryption when you open the file (asking for your keys pass phrase) and re-encrypts with modifications when the file is saved. Is there a text editor on windows (I'm using notepad++ right now) which have similar functionality?
Say I have the ip and mac address of a computer inside a network and I wish to send him a UDP message.
By initializing the mac and ip addresses of the sent message to the given, when the network router recives the message he should pass it to the computer with the same mac address...right?
Im asking becuase a program I write dosent seem to handle this limitation. it works great when its on the same network, but otherwise ...nada.
Thanks
I have scripted a process that involves updating symbolic links on files located on 3 different machines. On those machines exists 4 users each, who each need to have these links updated.
Using su, is there a way to pass the password argument to the command on a single line, without invoking sudo as the users will not have admin rights?
My only alternative solution at this point is to ssh around, however I would like to be able to do this without hardcoding in a bunch of hosts/ips.
I've been trying to setup email forwarding through fetchmail from remote smtp server to Gmail account, although messages are constantly coming to my local address and accessible via "mail" command. SMTP connection works perfectly, but emails do not go anywhere.
System: debian, fetchmail
Config: poll smtp.server protocol imap username “user” password “pass” smtpname “[email protected]” ssl
Thank you!
Is there good tool that can do same thing as windows 'mstsc' and also has some features, like
save different session info, so don't need to remember difference IP/ID/pwd. Thanks.
EDIT: Since I can't directly RDP to remote hosts, instead, I have to RDP to a terminal server and RDP from their to my destination. Is there client that can relay my connection from local and pass through the terminal to the real destination?

I haven't needed anything like this before but I'm sure something exists. I'm looking for a compiled Windows executable (i.e. noninterpreted language) that I don't need to write that can read the arguments passed in on the command line, open an TCP network socket to another machine, and pass the arguments along.
Has anyone used something like this before?
I am looking for a screen capture tool that is controllable from the command line. Ideally I would pass the filename, and possibly some options (capture mouse pointer or not, etc..), then it would take control, allow the user to select a region of the screen, and then save it to the specified file and disappear.
screensnip.exe /output c:\users\public\pictures\screenshot.png /hidecursor
user draws rectangle on screen
control passes back to batch file, script, etc....
I have several web site set up on one IIS 6 server distinguished by Host Header.
However, I wish to have one of the sites served by a Linux / Apache server on my network. Do I need to use a reverse proxy add-in for IIS, or is there a simple way to tell IIS to pass on all requests to another server?
Hi,
I have a Dell pc and when I ran the Vista installation disk which came with the machine, there is no obvious reference to the disk manager where you can add/delete partitions.
Can someone please explain how to find this? Is this an issue with the PC vendor or Microsoft?
Thanks
example.pp
$foo = 'bar'
$content = template('mymodule/maintemplate.erb')
maintemplate.erb
<% bar = foo + "extra" %>
foobar = scope_function_template(['mymodule/subtemplate.erb'])
subtemplate.erb
<%# here i want to access the variable bar %>
<%= bar %>
there is the function
<%= scope.lookupvar('::bar') %>
is there a kind of parent::bar in erb templateing, or can i pass some variables to the subtemplate, or can i only access the outer variable (of the .pp file) with ::foo
I am working my way through the steps on this page to prepare an unattended installation of Windows 7 Enterprise x64 for purposes of a college assignment which simply requires the process to be carried out and documented. Both the "technician" and "reference" computers are virtual machines created in VirtualBox 4.3.12, as will be the destination computer.
I seem to have successfully completed Step 1, building an Autounattend.xml answer file using Windows System Image Manager, in as far as the answer file validates successfully.
The problem arises when I try to install Windows on the reference machine from the DVD image in conjunction with the Autounattend file on a USB drive. I have tried a couple of different USB devices, and the devices themselves seem to be recognized, but the answer file does not, as instead of taking the configuration settings from the file the user interface appears as in a manual installation.
Has anyone come across this problem or a solution?
The xml created by Windows SIM is below for reference in case the problem is with the file itself.

Hello,
I have an old computer whose hard drive is wiped. The Microsoft product key is on the back, but there is no reference to which OS it is. I know it must be some flavor of XP -- is there any way to find out which one?
Bought a new computer back in August with 4x4 GB RAM. Had problems with the RAM. They sent me four new sticks, which also generated errors. Singled out four sticks (from the eight I now had) that didn't generate any errors. Discovered by coincident a new RAM error last week (this time no BSOD). Contacted the company. According to them there have been issues with a bad stock from last summer so I got two tested 8 GB sticks sent to me. Been running Memtest86+ over the weekend. After 20 hours I got an error (see attached photo). The test has now been running for 37 hours but so far only this one error. I contacted the company where I bought the computer. They wrote back:
I wouldn't worry about hat one fail.
We have had similar situations here whereby it passes numerous times
but then fails once. We think it's an issue with memtest, after all
memory is faulty or it isn't so you can't really have it pass a few
times, fail the next time around and then pass again!
Please trust me on this and continue with the memory we sent you and
if your problems continue we'll look at getting it replaced again.
I gather from other forum posts that many people do not accept a single error. What could this single error signify, faulty RAM or a glitch in the MEMTEST program (or other)?
Update: From the helpful comments below I conclude that an occasional (and rare) "random" error could occur and be acceptable, but repeated errors at the same address would indicate malfunction. Memtest has now run for 45 hours and I still have only one error. For everyone's information, I will keep running the test. In less than two days I am going away for a month. I will most likely leave Memtest running. As I do not have a UPS there is a risk that a power outage will ruin the experiment. The computer is a desktop so I cannot bring it with me (which would curiously have exposed it to more cosmic rays as I will be flying ;)).
