• IPv6 parsing in C

  I wanted to know how i can parse an IPv6 address in 'C' and convert it to a 128 bit value? So a hex address like 1:22:333:aaaa:b:c:d:e:f needs to be converted to its 128 bit equivalent binary. The problem is the IP address could be of the type ::2 and its variant since they are valid IPv6 address. The input is from the keyboard and hence is in ASCII format. Any suggestions or pointers will be appreciated. Thanks!!!

  Hey guys, I'm not trying to do anything malicious here, I just need to do some homework. I'm a fairly new programmer, I'm using python 3.0, and I having difficulty using recursion for problem-solving. I've been stuck on this question for quite a while. Here's the assignment: Write a recursive method spam(url, n) that takes a url of a web page as input and a non-negative integer n, collects all the email address contained in the web page and adds them to a global dictionary variable spam_dict, and then recursively calls itself on every http hyperlink contained in the web page. You will use a dictionary so only one copy of every email address is save; your dictionary will store (key,value) pairs (email, email). The recursive call should use the parameter n-1 instead of n. If n = 0, you should collect the email addresses but no recursive calls should be made. The parameter n is used to limit the recursion to at most depth n. You will need to use the solutions of the two above problems; you method spam() will call the methods links2() and emails() and possibly other functions as well. Notes: 1. running spam() directly will produce no output on the screen; to find your spam_dict, you will need to read the value of spam_dict, and you will also need to reset it to the empty dictionary before every run of spam. 2. Recall how global variables are used.   Hi, Could some one tell me the difference between GC.GetTotalMemory(false) and GC.GetTotalMemory(true); I have a small program and when i compared the results the first loop gives an put put < loop count 0 Diff = 32 for GC.GetTotalMemory(true); and < loop count 0 Diff = 0 for GC.GetTotalMemory(false); but shouldnt it be the otherway ? • Dns caching for sockets

  I'm connecting to some websites through socks proxy server. In my case its very good to implement dns cache, so proxy don't need to resolve website's ip address. So, I performed DNS lookup, but don't know where to supply IP address. mySocket.Connect uses proxy's ip address so it isn't right place. I tried to place it in http header GET http://11.22.33.44/index.html HTTP/1.1 - this doesn't work (even in browser) since website is on virtual hosting. It seems that Host header is right place for resolved ip address. Am I right? Will proxy resolve host name (since it's still there in GET header) or not?

• Hibernate: Check if object exists/changed

  Assuming I have an object Person with long id String firstName String lastName String address Then I'm generating a Person-object somewhere in my application. Now I'd like to check if the person exists in the database (= firstname/lastname-combination is in the database). If not = insert it. If yes, check, if the address is the same. If not = update the address. Of course, I can do some requests (first, try to load object with firstname/lastname), then (if existing), compare the address. But isn't there a simpler, cleaner approach? If got several different classes and do not like to have so many queries. I'd like to use annotations as if to say: firstname/lastname = they're the primary key. Check for them if the object exists. address is the parameter you have to compare if it stayed the same or not. • Can't access shared drive when connecting over VPN

  I can ping all network devices but it doesn't seem that DNS is resolving their hostnames. ipconfig/ all is showing that I am pointing to the correct dns server. I can "ping "dnsname"" and it will resolve but it wont resolve any other names. Split tunnel is set up so outside DNS is resolving fine So one issue might be DNS but I have the IP address of the server share so I figure I could just get to it that way. example: \10.0.0.1\ well I can't get to it that way either and I get "the specified network name is no longer available" I can ping it but I can't open the share. It is supposed to print the thead and tfoot on each page in theory, but for some reason the thead does not if it contains certain elements together. • Is there an ORM that supports composition w/o Joins

I'm curious if there is an ORM tool that supports inheritance w/o creating separate tables that have to be joined. Simple example. Assume a table of customers, with a Bill-to address, and a table of vendors, with a remit-to address. Keep it simple and assume one address each, not a child table of addresses for each. These addresses will have a handful of values in common: address 1, address 2, city, state/province, postal code. So let's say I'd have a class "addressBlock" and I want the customers and vendors to inherit from this class, and possibly from other classes. But I do not want separate tables that have to be joined, I want the columns in the customer and vendor tables respectively. Is there an ORM that supports this? The closest question I have found on StackOverflow that might be the same question is linked below, but I can't quite figure if the OP is asking what I am asking. He seems to be asking about foregoing inheritance precisely because there will be multiple tables. I'm looking for the case where you can use inheritance w/o generating the multiple tables.   Hi guys, I'm running an Apache2 web server with a dynamic IP address. I bought exampledomain.net, and I use no-ip.com's domain-update service to redirect any visitors to my current ip address (endnote #1). For example, someone visits exampledomain.net and they get redirected to 73.181.57.34. It works like a charm. However, it isn't all that user-friendly. Can I rewrite the redirected, ip-address URL? I tried these rewrite rules in the root folder's .htaccess... RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^73\.181\.57\.34:88 RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.exampledomain.net/$1 [L,NC] # I simplified the RewriteCond. I would use regex in a real situation. Of course, this creates an infinite loop. The user visits www.exampledomain.net. They're redirected to 73.181.57.34:88 by no-ip. Apache redirects them to www.exampledomain.net which redirects them back to 73.181.57.34:88... so on and so forth. I'm a noob when it comes to rewriting, but is there a way to rewrite a URL without redirecting? I tried these rewrite rules too (a shot in the dark)...
