• Hive Based Registry in Flash

  To start with I'll say I've read the post here and I'm still having trouble. I'm trying to create a CE6 image with a hive-based registry that actually stores results through a reboot. I've ticked the hive settings in the catalog items. In common.reg, I've set the location of the hive ([HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\init\BootVars] "SystemHive") to "Hard Drive\Registry" (Note: the flash shows up as a device called "Hard Drive") In common.reg, I've set "Flags"=dword:3 in the same place to get the device manager loaded along with the storage manager I've verified that these settings are wrapped in "; HIVE BOOT SECTION" This is where it starts to fall over. It all compiles fine, but on the target system, when it boots, I get: A directory, called "Hard Disk" where a registry is put A device, name called "Hard Disk2" where the permanent flash is Any changes made to the registry are lost on a reboot What am I still missing? Why is the registry not being stored on the flash? Strangly, if I create a random file/directory in the registry directory, it is still there after a reboot, so even though this directory isn't on the other partition (where I tried to put it), it does appear to be permanent. If it is permanent, why don't registry settings save (ie Ethernet adapter IP addresses?) I'm not using any specific profiles, so I'm at a loss as to what the last step is to make this hive registry a permanent store.

• Help with entity frame work error. Error 0194: All artifacts loaded....

  This is a c#/asp.net project. The full error message I get is:Error 0194: All artifacts loaded into the item collection must have the same version. Multiple versions were encountered. This project was started as a 3.5 and upgraded to 4.0. When I try to test any of the methods I get the error that I posted in the subject line. I am going to include the actual lines that it throws the exception on. If there is anything in people need to see to try to help let me know and I post it as well.   Hopefully, this fictitious example will illustrate my problem: Suppose you are writing a system which tracks complaints for a software product, as well as many other attributes about the product. In this case the SoftwareProduct is our aggregate root and Complaints are entities that only can exist as a child of the product. In other words, if the software product is removed from the system, so shall the complaints. In the system, there is a dashboard like web page which displays many different aspects of a single SoftwareProduct. One section in the dashboard, displays a list of Complaints in a grid like fashion, showing only some very high level information for each complaint. When an admin type user chooses one of these complaints, they are directed to an edit screen which allows them to edit the detail of a single Complaint. The question is: what is the best way for the edit screen to retrieve the single Complaint, so that it can be displayed for editing purposes? Keep in mind we have already established the SoftwareProduct as an aggregate root, therefore direct access to a Complaint should not be allowed. Also, the system is using NHibernate, so eager loading is an option, but my understanding is that even if a single Complaint is eager loaded via the SoftwareProduct, as soon as the Complaints collection is accessed the rest of the collection is loaded. So, how do you get the single Complaint through the SoftwareProduct without incurring the overhead of loading the entire Complaints collection?

  so I'm trying to scrape an Amazon page for data, and I'm getting an error when I try to parse for where the seller is located.   I've created a scene which has many cubes, spheres, etc, in it, and have been able to apply textures to those primitives, but when I want to add a texture to a simple triangle, I'm totally lost.   Can anyone provide an explanation for the following phenomenon? As of the iPhone Device 3.1 SDK, I've found that if a UITableViewCell is of style UITableViewCellStyleValue1 and its detailTextLabel.text is unassigned, then the textLabel does not display in the center of the cell as would be expected. One notable caveat is that this only happens for me when I'm testing on the Device – the iPhone Simulator 3.1 SDK displays the cells correctly. Also, this is not a problem when using the iPhone Device 3.0 SDK. • xcode UIWebView - Text Fields = No on screen keyboard.

  This application is used to let you use our company basecamp site and only that site. When logged in, if you go to post a new message, you can insert text in the title text field, but if you try to tap in the message body section, it does not bring up the keyboard. I have to assume it's something with my coding, because safari works just fine with it. You can pick textile/html mode or easy. The keyboard does come up in textile/html mode but not in easy formatting mode. Any ideas? Here are some screenshot examples from the iPad. This is shown as the text view not working, no keyboard comes up when you tap in the box. arikburnsDOTcom/forums/fn/IMG_0007.png If you click on 'Switch to Textile/HTML' As seen in the image above, you are presented with this new text box which you can tap in and the keyboard comes up. arikburnsDOTcom/forums/fn/IMG_0006.PNG Now, also note, if you load this same page up in safari, it doesn't actually give you an option as to what text formatting to use, it just works. No options. I basically need to force the 'Textile/HTML' text box somehow and no I cannot change the website code itself. Thanks in advance.

  Hello! So... here's my story: I'm trying to create a SQL server data extension (to be precise, I'm trying to get some sample code to run) (SSRS2005). I've done the following: Placed the extension assembly into the ReportServer/bin folder. Placed the assembly into the Private Assemblies folder. Modified rsreportserver.config in, and added the assembly info to the data section. Modified rssrvpolicy.config, and added a code group for the assembly with Full Trust. Modified RSReportDesigner.config in PrivateAssemblies. Added the assembly to the data and the designer sections, specifying the generic query designer. Modified RSPreviewPolicy.config. Added the assembly with Full Trust. The new Data Source type is available for selection, but when I try to view the dataset I get this error: The data extension DataSet could not be loaded. Check the configuration file RSReportDesigner.config. The location of the assembly is configured properly (I think), because I've added logging code and I can see that the constructor of the Connection object is being called. In fact, I've added logging code to every method of every class in the assembly, and as far as I can tell the failure occurs right after the connection object's constructor is called. Any ideas on how I might proceed to debug this? Thanks alot!

• Recover a folder or file in TortoiseSVN whilst also retaining all history.

  In revision 1 a folder existed. In revision 2 the folder was accidently deleted and the change committed. We wish to roll back such that the folder is present, and retain its history. In the TortoiseSVN docs it indicates 'how' in the section titled "Getting a deleted file or folder back". To quote: Getting a deleted file or folder back If you have deleted a file or a folder and already committed that delete operation to the repository, then a normal TortoiseSVN - Revert can't bring it back anymore. But the file or folder is not lost at all. If you know the revision the file or folder got deleted (if you don't, use the log dialog to find out) open the repository browser and switch to that revision. Then select the file or folder you deleted, right-click and select [Context Menu] - [Copy to...] as the target for that copy operation select the path to your working copy. A switch retrieves the file into my working copy as one would expect, however there is no "Copy to" option on the context menu when I right click this working copy. If I open the repos browser, there is a copy to option, but it seems this simply takes a copy of the file. The solution I feel is to do a Branch/Tag, but if I try this from a prior revision to the same path in the repository SVN throws error that the path already exists.   Hi, First of all, quickly what exactly I want to achieve: translate particular exception into the HTTP 404 so the ASP.NET can handle it further. When it is on then it never redirects to the page specified in customErrors: <error statusCode="404" redirect="404.html"/>. I also tried to raise new HttpExcepton(404, "Not Found") from the handler but then the response code is 200 which I don't understand why. So the questions are: What is the proper way of translating AnException into HTTP 404 response? How does customErrors section work when handling exceptions in Application_Error? • How can I dynamically access user control properties?

  Im trying to create a "user control menu" where links to a page's usercontrols are placed at the top of the page. This will allow me to put several usercontrols on a page and allow the user to jump to that section of the page without scrolling so much. In order to do this, I put each usercontrol in a folder (usercontrols) and gave each control a Description property (<%@ Control Language="C#" Description = "Vehicles" .... %>). My question is how can I access this description dynamically? I want to use this description as the link in my menu. So far, I have a foreach on my page that looks in the ControlCollection for a control that is of the ASP.usercontrols type. If it is I would assume that I could access its attributes and grab that description property. How can I do this? (Im also open to a better way to achieve my "user control menu", but maybe thats another question.) Should I use ((System.Web.UI.UserControl)mydynamiccontrol).Attributes.Keys?

• How do I connect to SDF on a Mobile device from desktop application?

  C# WinForms .Net 3.5 to SQL CE 3.5 on Mobile 6.1 Device I'd like to make a connection from a desktop application to a SDF database on my Windows Mobile device while it's connected via ActiveSync. Visual Studio lets me create a Data Connection to my device. The connections tests OK and I can view the data in the database using Visual Studio. I then create a form and try to fill a DataGridView. When I run the program I get an error that the path to the data base is not valid. How am I supposed to specify the Mobile device path in the connection string?   I am new to objective-c programming. I come from a C# background. • NSURL URLWithString: raises exception

  In short, [NSURL URLWithString:] appears to be raising an exception. According to the documentation "If the string was malformed, returns nil." There is no mention of an exception being raised under any circumstance. In addition to this, I am both encoding the URL and checking for nil before converting the string to a URL. Can anyone offer any advice as to which exception it could be or what other error checking I should be doing before converting the URL? And the user(s) that experienced the problem never contacted me directly so I can't ask for more details. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Update (14/7/2009): Seems like such a hack, but I added an exception block around the suspect line. I also raised a Radar bug report (#7031551) suggesting that the code should match the documentation.

• Pre Commit Hook for JSLint in Mercurial and Git

  I want to run JSLint before a commit into either a Mercurial or Git repo is done. I want this as an automatic step that is set up instead of relying on the developer (mainly me) remembering to run JSLint before-hand. I normally run JSLint while developing, but want to specify a contract on JS files that they pass JSLint before being committed to the repo. For Mercurial, this page spells out the precommit syntax, but the only variables that seem to be available are the parent1 and parent2 changeset IDs involved in the commit. What I really want are a list of file names that are involved with the commit, so that I can then choose the .js file and run jslint over them. Similar issue for GIT, the default info available as part of the precommit script seems limited. What might work is calling hg status/git status as part of the precommit script, parse that output to find JS files then do the work that way. I was hoping for something easier though, and I am not sure if calling status as part of a precommit hook reflect the correct information. For instance in Git if the changes files have not been added yet, but the git commit uses -a, would the files show up in the correct section of the git status output as being part of the commit set? • Draw to offscreen renderbuffer in OpenGL ES (iPhone)

  I'm trying to create an offscreen render buffer in OpenGL ES on the iPhone. I've created the buffer like this: glGenFramebuffersOES(1, &offscreenFramebuffer); glBindFramebufferOES(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_OES, offscreenFramebuffer); glGenRenderbuffersOES(1, &offscreenRenderbuffer); glBindRenderbufferOES(GL_RENDERBUFFER_OES, offscreenRenderbuffer); glFramebufferRenderbufferOES(GL_FRAMEBUFFER_OES, GL_COLOR_ATTACHMENT0_OES, GL_RENDERBUFFER_OES, offscreenRenderbuffer); But I'm confused on how to render the storage. Apple's documentation says to use the EAGLContext renderBufferStorage:fromDrawable: method, but this seems to only work for one render buffer (the main one being displayed). If I use the normal OpenGL function glRenderBufferStorageOES, then I can't seem to get it to display. • thesis in LaTeX without memoir

  Hi, I'm preparing a thesis report in LaTeX. I don't want to use the memoir class as I would like total control. I have two questions: My thesis consists of an introduction and then a series of articles pasted one after the other. Thus each article has its own abstract, introduction, etc... and a bibliography at its end. I understand that perhaps a package like multibib can help when we have multiple bibliographies. The idea that I came with is to write each article separately and then use pdfpages to combine the final document. Long time ago dvi files concatenation was popular but with graphics I think that pdfpages is better. I saw that another package exists, named combine which can help with what I am doing. I'm still exploring my options. Any suggestions? If I decide to use a book class instead to make my thesis resemble more into a book-like format which is better, then using the book class format gives me section headings like 0.1 Introduction with the leading 0. This 0 doesn't show in the article class format. How to change this default book class numbering format so that I'll have e.g. 1. Introduction? Thanks a lot...
