  So I've been told that grub requires metadata version 0.90 I'm wondering if I can change my existing arrays to use that instead of the default which is 1.2. That way I don't have to go about a reinstall. If yes, how can I do it?

• How can I configure apache2 to use a non - exportable ssl certificate managed by windows?

  On Windows Server 2008 R2, my IT administrator has installed a certificate using the windows certificate management tool. The certificate is for *.thedomain.com. He set it up as not exportable for security reasons: I'm not suposed to be able to put my hands on the certificate. This configuration would allow me to use the certificate with microsoft products, but not to go away with the certificate. Q: It there a way to configure Apache 2 to use this certificate "the windows way"?

• Navicat 8/9 crashes my Debian/Linux

  I run Debian 5 + Gnome and it seems that after I made certain updates with aptitude, whenever I run a query in Navicat ( sql program that runs on WINE ), as the results are being presented linux goes into the command line and the GUI dies and it restarts and it asks me to login again ( all my programs crash ). Has anyone experienced this before? Or does anyone have a clue as to how I could go about debugging this? I suspect it's some issue with Gnome and WINE, but I'm not sure.

• Will not POST with a USB mouse or keyboard plugged in

  I have an Abit KN9 motherboard, and a USB keyboard and mouse. The computer will not POST with the keyboard or mouse plugged in, but they can be used (and they are fully functional) if you plug them in later, after POST. On the POST side of things, it hangs when it shows the installed processor, and goes no further - pressing DEL to go to setup will not work. I've tried disabling legacy USB support as recommended, but can't find the option anywhere in the BIOS.

  In XP, I could go ToolsOptionsFile Types and modify descriptions, icons and actions. Does this still exist in Windows 7? I'm not finding anything explicitly saying so, but there are lots of recommendations to download assorted random software to do it. There must be a way to change this without having to use third party stuff?

• No new mail icon in panel when using evolution

  I am using Ubuntu 10.04, kernel 2.6.32-21-generic, with Evolution 2.83.3. I have noticed that when I get a new email, it never shows a new mail icon in the panel. I had the same problem with 9.10, and I thought the problem would go away when I upgraded to 10.04. I have checked the properties in Mail preferences: Play sound - yes Display a notification - yes Indicate new messages in panel - yes Many thanks for any suggestions.

Edit: A very strange problem is that the code doesn't crash once every few refreshes.. then goes back to crashing

  The title says it all. Is there a way to make the loginwindow process start a user session by running a command when remotely logged in via SSH as an admin on Mac OS X? When the machine is at the login window (no user is currently logged in), I want it to open up a user's session as if I had clicked on the username and entered a password. Solutions that don't involve scripting the GUI are highly preferred, but this Apple KB page may be of interest for those who go that route.

  Can I have different .bashrc files loading when logging into different nodes that share the same home dir? This is, I am mostly interested to loading different PATH directories when logging as bash, depending on the different Linux nodes I log into? For example, if I log into bash in machine abc-01, I would like to have a given .bashrc loaded, but when I log into abc-02, that uses the same /home/username directory, I would like to use a different .bashrc. How can I go about doing that?

  Is there any DirectX diagnostcs tool which will allow me to understand if Graphics acceleration from my GPU is actually working or software rendering is kicking-in instead? I ask this because If I go properties (right click on desktop) -- settings -- I get an error saying my drivers are not working for my Intel Embedded GPU (Intel Embedded Graphics Driver - IEGD) and the system is defaulting to standard VGA drivers.   I read somewhere that the Ultimate Boot CD can diagnose computer problems. In this case would this program help me get my Windows XP back? When I turn on the screen and hit "Start Windows Normally" or go to Safe Mode I get a flash of the WinXP logo and then it goes to this error page. • Computer doesn't boot with Entertainmen Keyboard 8000?

  I have a Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Keyboard 8000, and when the charger/usb-hub is connected, the computer won't start. All I get is the bios boot screen, and it won't go further. But if I disconnect either the usb-cable or the power-cable to the charger the computer boots normally. Any suggestions as to what's causing this behaviour? I've tried the charger on two different computers with the same result.

My Profile, along with saved passwords, bookmarks and history has come along with me across 3 different computers, and has been upgrading since 2.0, has had hundreds of addons installed, updated and removed and has even seen some Minefield builds. Not completely surprising, my firefox seems sluggish. I'd like to start from scratch with a clean profile, but I can't do this without my history, bookmarks and saved passwords. • Which is the correct way to config the $TERM and tmux?

  I am using gnome-terminal with bash. When I set xterm-256color for $TERM and in .tmux.conf most of the things work but when I try to change the colorscheme of vim the things mess up. When I set screen-256color for $TERM and in .tmux.conf the colors work ok but most of the keys go mad. I've tried some of the suggestions from the last link but when I ssh the arrows crash even on the command line.. So how to configure tmux?
