  • CSS and JS files not being updated, supposedly because of Nginx Caching

    I have my web app working with AppCache and I would like that when I modify my html/css/js files, and then update my Cache Manifest, that when the user accesses my web app, they will have an updated version of those files. If I change an HTML file, it works perfectly, but when I change CSS and JS files, the old version is still being used. I've been checking everything out and I think it's related to my nginx configuration. I have a cache.conf file that contains the following: gzip on; gzip_types text/css application/x-javascript text/x-component text/richtext image/svg+xml text/plain text/xsd text/xsl text/xml image/x-icon; location ~ \.(css|js|htc)$ { expires 31536000s; add_header Pragma "public"; add_header Cache-Control "max-age=31536000, public, must-revalidate, proxy-revalidate"; } location ~ \.(html|htm|rtf|rtx|svg|svgz|txt|xsd|xsl|xml)$ { expires 3600s; add_header Pragma "public"; add_header Cache-Control "max-age=3600, public, must-revalidate, proxy-revalidate"; } And in default.conf I have my locations.   • Apache in OS X not displaying localhost nor vhosts correctly

    I've encountered a really odd problem in my development environment, and I really can't make any sense of it. It started by a locally developed PHP-site refused to update any content I edited in a file – no text or nothing. So if the document was: <h2>Hello!</h2> and I edited it to <h2>What's wrong?!</h2> it still outputed <h2>Hello!</h2>. I thought is was some kind of cache:ing problem, but no "hard reloads" in the browser nor sudo apachectl -k restart sorted it out. Only a restart of my Mac did finally fix it. Now, a few days later even stranger issues are appearing. I have a LAMP-stack installed via Homebrew, in httpd-vhosts.conf I've set ~/Dev/ as my localhost, and I set up a <VirtualHost *80> for each project ("ServerName projectname.dev" for example). However, what ever files of folder I put in ~/Dev/ have stopped showing up on localhost, and new VirtualHost-directives doesn't work. Three projects + "docs" in the folder: But "localhost" only displays the two older projects...? So, as I've said – I've tried restarting Apache (without errors), clearing browser caches (tried in three browsers, Chrome, Safari and Firefox) and ever rebooting the Mac. Nothing. Any ideas? Running OS X 10.8.5 and Apache 2.2.24.

    I have been struggling with this for days. I have a windows server 2008 where I have installed Apache 2.2, PHP and MySql. I kept getting the error that mysql_connect was an unknown function, so I followed all guides I could find but with no result. I have now noticed that phpinfo says that php.ini dir is C:\Windows. This is strange since I've written this in httpd.conf: PHPIniDir 'c:\PHP\' LoadModule php5_module "c:/PHP/php5apache2_2.dll" AddHandler application/x-httpd-php .php How do I get apache and php to read my php.ini and thereby include mysql?

  • Timeout option not working on efi windows 7/windows8 dual boot machine

    I hav a gigbyte GA-Z77m-D3h mobo and installed Windows 8 Pro and Windows 7 Ultimate on two SSDs (in that order) in EFI mode. Now when I start my computer, I get the windows boot menu (text mode) with the two OSses to choose, but I have to manually press RETURN to have the computer boot into the Win OS. Even if I wait an hour, no default action takes place. Using bcdedit (from either of the OSses) I can successfully change the time out value, and it shows up in the bcdedit (no params) output. But it doesn't fire ...     I'm learning about the more powerful tab-completion and expansion capabilities of zsh, and they don't seem to work when I run zsh under emacs with M-x shell: cat $PATH<TAB> expands the tab variable in Terminal, but in shell-mode it just beeps. I poked around the emacs environment and here's what I found: TAB (translated from ) runs the command completion-at-point, which is an interactive compiled Lisp function in `minibuffer.el'. It is bound to TAB, . (completion-at-point) Perform completion on the text around point. The completion method is determined by `completion-at-point-functions'. completion-at-point-functions is a variable defined in `minibuffer.el'. Its value is (tags-completion-at-point-function) So I'm surmising I need to add a function to completion-at-point-functions, but which one?

  • SSH connection problem - allowed from LAN but not WAN

    I tried to setup my Arch Linux installation to be an SSH host, but here is the thing: I can ssh localhost, it fails to login via public key and asks for username and password, but still able to login. When I try ssh my_wan_ip it gives ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host error. I've read all topics about this error and none helped me. By the way, just confirmed, it gives ssh: connect to host my_dyndns_hostname port 22: Connection refused from another machine (outside of my network, it has different wan ip). I have sshd: ALL in "hosts.allow", ALL:ALL in "hosts.deny". I am able to connect to my own pc via ssh, ping my own pc, but my ssh setup seems to be the problem, it gives that annoying error when I try to ssh from wan. /etc/ssh/ssh_config /etc/ssh/sshd_config And finally, here is the debug output for both sshd and ssh: (i ran ssh command and i took output to sshd debug after that): sshd debug ssh debug I can edit my question according to your needs. Just ask for any more information needed. BTW I have no iptables running. I have one cable dsl modem connected to a asus wl-330gE wireless access point, they both have their firewall disabled. I configured NAT so port 22 is directed to the pc I'm having this trouble. Any help appreciated, thanks..

  • IP addresses not updating, but showing correctly in the DHCP Address Leases

    I first noticed this when I tried a RDP to wxp-38-shop and it connected me to the computer wxp-alvinm As you can see in the picture I pinged wxp-38-shop and it shows a different IP then whats given in the Address Leases page (w2k3 server). I tried to do ipconfig /flushdns on the server as well as the client computer, but it didn't update that way. If I do an ipconfig on wxp-38-shop is also shows 192.168.0.153, so why when I ping it from any other computer why would it be showing the wrong IP?

    I have a OpenBSD server acting as a router/firewall with yhr packet filter ruleset shown below, a linux server, and a linux client. When transferring files (using netcat) by TCP, the limits are applied (for example the 100mbit limit in the example), though when transferring data by UDP, the limits aren't applied; the file always takes the same amount of time no matter the queue bandwidth limit I set (I can even turn off the queues completely, and will still get the same result). Why aren't the queuing rules applied to UDP packages?     In Windows Vista, when I try to move a folder to replace an existing folder, Vista asks me if I want to merge the folders or cancel. How do I get the old XP behavior where the old folder is just replaced. This issue is especially challenging when moving many folders at once and some of them move but then some of them hit this merge/cancel problem. Thanks!

  • Sun Grid Engine (SGE) Jobs Not Visible After Adding virtual_free

    I'm trying to to use virtual_free to limit the number of large memory jobs running each grid node in my cluster. This seems to be working as expected. After I modified my code to submit jobs with the memory instances, qstat -f -q $queueName no longer shows a list of jobs waiting for a slot. The jobs are submitted with a specific queue (-q $queueName). I'm guessing this is happening due to the magic of SGE queue selection. Is there a way to make my jobs show up as before? Thanks! UPDATE I'm using: qstat -f -u * -q $queueName to view the queue. If I drop the queue argument, I can see the jobs. If I examine a specific job, I can see that it has the correct hard_queue_list value set. I'm also using Sun Grid Engine 6.1u4

    I'm trying to write an upstart script to start orbited on startup. The script is as follows: #orbited start on startup stop on shutdown script exec /usr/local/bin/orbited --config=/etc/orbited.cfg end script When I run upstart orbited I get something like this: orbited start/running, process 605 But when I run status orbited right after doing that I get: orbited stop/waiting The script fails to start even though it says it's running.     In my home network I have several OS X boxes and several Ubuntu boxes. each Ubuntu box sees other boxes via zeroconf. I can "ssh ubuntu1.local" and "ping ubuntu1.local" from "ubuntu2.local", but both fail to lookup OSX boxes. and other way around, I can "ssh mini1.local" from "mbair.local". but it doesn't see "ubuntu1.local" why? do ubuntu and osx use different flavours of zeroconf? could be ubuntu, or osx tweaked to use common flavour?

  • Apache2 + FCGI + PHP5 not creating sockets / pools

    I have a pretty vanilla setup with Apache2, FastCGI setup as DSO and serving PHP through an external CGI script that sets the max children / serves the request to PHP. The issue is FastCGI doesn't appear to be creating the PHP sockets / pooling them so each request calls the php-cgi binary, then dies off .. effectively making the reason I want to use FastCGI moot. The only configuration directives I have are: AddHandler php5-fastcgi .php Action php5-fastcgi /cgi-bin/fcgi.cgi FastCgiIpcDir /usr/local/apache2/fastcgi The dyanmic/ directory is getting created as anticipated, but there are no sockets in there. Permissions are indeed correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Hi, Iam using vmware player version 3.1 to boot a minix 3 os image. After booting the minix os I want to get some files from a server using ftp. the ftp connection to the server works but when i use the commands "ls" or "get" nothing happens except it says "200 PORT command successful" and it hanges in there. The only thing i can do after typing ls+enter or get+enter is to exit the ftp by using ctrl+c. If anyone knows a solution to this? please help. Thank you

  • VirtualBox VM running web server not accessible via external IP

    I have a Windows 7 machine running VirtualBox with an Ubuntu guest. The guest has a Bitnami LAMP stack installed. I have the guest configured for Bridged networking, and I can access the guest web server just fine from other machines on my LAN using the guest's IP. I'm trying to configure port forwarding so that I can access the web server from outside my LAN. (The router is a 2WIRE model as I'm on ATT's UVerse). I've set up port forwarding for ports 80 and 443 to the guest's IP in a similar manner to how I had them set up for my previous, physical web server, which worked just fine. However, I cannot seem to access the new, virtual web server using my external IP on the forwarded port. I suspected Windows Firewall issues on the host, but disabling it didn't solve the issue. Anyone have advice on what I should try next? EDIT: I've now attempted disabling the firewall on the guest with sudo ufw disable -- that doesn't seem to help either. However, after checking the router's port forwarding in more detail I may see the problem. My VM is named "linux" and in the router's configuration pages it shows up inconsistently. Sometimes it reports with a valid LAN IP and other times it doesn't show up with any IP. Even when it shows the correct IP the router indicates that it is disconnected. Could this be an indication that the 2WIRE router doesn't play well with VirtualBox's bridged networking mode?
