• How to select the most recent set of dated records from a mysql table

  I am storing the response to various rpc calls in a mysql table with the following fields: Table: rpc_responses timestamp (date) method (varchar) id (varchar) response (mediumtext) PRIMARY KEY(timestamp,method,id) What is the best method of selecting the most recent responses for all existing combinations of method and id? For each date there can only be one response for a given method/id. Not all call combinations are necessarily present for a given date. There are dozens of methods, thousands of ids and at least 356 different dates Sample data: timestamp method id response 2009-01-10 getThud 16 "....." 2009-01-10 getFoo 12 "....." 2009-01-10 getBar 12 "....." 2009-01-11 getFoo 12 "....." 2009-01-11 getBar 16 "....." Go download it and build a sample app. If that works, then make a new app from the templates provided, then watch as it fails spectacularly to find the right HEADER_SEARCH_PATH. 1) I've gone to the info page for the TARGET and not the PROJECT (Well, I tried both) and tried a bunch of different paths for the HEADER_SEARCH_PATH field. 2) I've tried dragging and dropping the dependent files from the finder and COPYING or just referencing both fails. (RANT: WTF?! Really? I wish public code libraries saved me time ONCE in my life.)

  Newbie question - I am using NetBeans 6.7.1 (just installed it) and wanted to write an application using jGroups ... From the sample I need to import org.jgroups.*, but in NetBeans I get the following error: package org.jgroups does not exist So, went on the net and download jGroups (src and bin), been trying to figure out how to get it to work but nothing I do seems to solve the problem.   Okay, I know I must be doing something incredibly stupid here. Here's the sample code (which, when executed within a viewDidLoad block silently crashes... no error output to debug console). NSMutableArray *bs = [NSMutableArray arrayWithCapacity:10]; [bs addObject:[NSNumber numberWithInteger: 2]]; NSLog(@"%@", [bs count]); [bs release]; What am I missing? Oh... and in case anyone is wondering, this code is just me trying to figure out why I can't get the count of an NSMutableArray that actually matters somewhere else in the program.

I also have a temporary table #temp(account, last_contact_date) which I use to update the table1.   Hi all I have a scenario in which I need to design online keyboard with buttons implementing different mathematical functions in ASP.NET. For example 1) A button called "Fraction" Onclicking= should display A numerator and a denominator separated by '-' with empty fields. Just as we write fractions manually. Now when the user clicks on this button the cursor should focus on numerator displaying 'the division line' and then by pressing 'Down' arrow key(on computr keyboard) should focus on denominator allowing users to enter both fields. Keeping it simple the user should be able to toggle between numerator and denominator. Please help me with some sample code. I have got no idea. Thanks in advance

  Hi, I'm a Google App Engine newbie and would be grateful for any help. I have an iPhone app which sources data from an sqlite db stored localling on the device. I'd like to set up a Google App Engine web service which my iPhone client will talk to and check if there is a newer version of the sqlite database it needs to download. So iPhone client hits the web service with some kind of version number/timestamp and if there is a newer file, the App Engine will notify the client and the client will then request the new database to download which the App Engine will serve. Is it possible to set up a web service in Google App Engine to do this? Could anyone point me to any sample code / tutorials please? Many Thanks

  Hi, is it possible to capture a click event on a scrollbar? I have some code where i am observing the click and mousedown events on the document. However, it seems that when I click on the scrollbar, the event is not captured. This leads me to believe that the scrollbars aren't really part of the document. (Assumption :-)) Is this a correct assumption? All of these (at least that I had found) tell how to use it without much explanation why and how it works. What will happen if I don't? Or what will happen if instead of EnterUpgradeableReadLock I will call EnterWriteLock and will write to a resource without using upgradeable lock at all?

• Chain dynamically created dropdowns with JQuery

  I'm building some kind of indefinite filters for an app, and I'm havin this problem when I clone some selects. The things is this selects are chained between them, trough the Chained Selects jQuery plugin. The problem is that every time I clone the selects, the chaining stops working, and I've tryed everything, such as .live() to make it work, but it seems I'm out of luck :D Here you have a sample of what I'm talking about, http://jsfiddle.net/7K2Eu/63/ At first, the selects chain normally, but when I clone the form, they stop working, except for the first row of selects.   I'm looking for a way to fix and/or abstract away a comma-separated values (CSV) list in a database field in order to reconstruct a usable relationship such that I can properly join the two tables below and query them using LINQ and its Join method. Following is a sample showing the Person table and CsvArticleIds field having a CSV value to represent a one-to-many association with Article records. • iPhone app launch times and Core Data migration

  I have a Core Data application which I plan to update with a new schema. The lightweight migration seems to work, but it takes time proportional to the amount of data in the database. This occurs in the didFinishLaunchingWithOptions phase of the app. I want to avoid <app> failed to launch in time problems, so I assume I cannot keep the migration in the didFinishLaunchingWithOptions method. I assume the best method would involve performing the migration in a background thread. I assume also that I'd need to defer loading of the main ViewController until the loading completes to avoid using the managedObjectContext until initialization completes. Does this make sense, and is there example code (maybe in Apple sample projects) of this sort of initialization?

In HsqlDB, one can still accomplish creating an auto-increment identity column which doesn't link to any user defined sequence. The TFS and VS 2010 are all installed and configured. • Read random lines from huge CSV file in Python

  I have this quite big CSV file (15 Gb) and I need to read about 1 million random lines from it. As far as I can see - and implement - the CSV utility in Python only allows to iterate sequentially in the file. It's very memory consuming to read the all file into memory to use some random choosing and it's very time consuming to go trough all the file and discard some values and choose others, so, is there anyway to choose some random line from the CSV file and read only that line?   I have code that at one place ends up with a list of data frames which I really want to convert to a single big data frame. I got some pointers from an earlier question which was trying to do something similar but more complex. • How can I execute a bunch of editor commands stored in a file in VIM?

I have some editor commands that I generated from an SQL query. It uses :s/foo/bar to change country codes (from FIPS to a non-standard code set). Here's a sample of the file: :s/CB/CAMBO :s/CQ/NMARI :s/KV/KOSOV :s/PP/PAPUA ... I have saved that in a file called fipsToNonStd.vim (unsure about the correct extension). I want to run those commands one after another. What's the easiest way to do so? Thanks a bunch! SO Rocks!
