  • MS 2008 R2 Drops Remote Desktop Sessions in 10 seconds or less every time

    I'm adding a new 64-bit server to our domain. Everything seems fine except when accessing the machine using remote desktop, after a few seconds the connection is lost. The error message is "This computer can't connect to the remote computer." "Try connecting again. If the problem continues, contact the owner of the remote computer or your network administrator." A similar result with Telnet on port 3389. I am able to connect but if I hit a key the connection to host lost. The event log shows the successful login. No errors. Any ideas?

    If I wanted to add, let's say, a new .lib to the build only if a particular #define was set, how would I do that? In the MSVC++ 2008 "Property Pages", you would simply add: Config Properties -> Linker -> Input -> Additional Dependencies, but I would like it if something like #define COMPILE_WITH_DETOURS was set, then the particular library would be added to the dependencies, otherwise it would be removed. Thanks!

  • Sync Linux to Windows 2003/2008 Natively

    Without using any external packages for Windows, can Linux synchronise it's clock to a Windows 03/08 Server natively? I've tried it using various NTP packages for Windows but would like to use just Windows software for this. EDIT: I've tried the below however it doesn't work. I've put TimeSource in /etc/hosts, stated server TimeSource in /etc/ntp.conf however when I do a service ntpd start it doesn't sync (it's 3 minutes out at the minute). I then stopped the NTPD and did a ntpdate TimeSource, thinking it would sync and then I'd start the NTPD once it's got the time, and it says: no server suitable for synchronization found. Though I can ping it. Any thoughts?

  • Server 2008 DHCP some clients not getting IP

    Today (after turning on the server from an extended power outage) some clients are not able to get IP addresses. Some clients work just fine. Win 7 and XP doesnt seem to matter. I have tried flushing dns, renew, disabling APIPA and even assigned a static IP. Even with the static IP it acts as if it isn't on a network. You can't ping anything. I have also tried resetting the TCPIP stack. The clients that work can ping the DNS and DHCP servers fine. Any suggestions? Thanks

I do very little processing in code before writing to sql server (2008 express by the way) typically i use the sqlhelper class's ExecuteNoneQuery method and pass in a stored proc name and list of parameters that the SP expects. This is very convenient, but i need a much faster way of doing this. Thanks.

  • SQL Server 2008 (64-bit)

    I have transaction log backup failures randomly. SQL Server Log says 'Memory constraints resulted reduced backup/restore buffer sizes. Proceding with 6 buffers of size 64KB.', and the SQL Server Agent Error Log has quite a few errors like 'Unable to start Job Manager thread for job xxx', '[298] SQLServer Error: 768, Client unable to establish connection [SQLSTATE 08001]', [298] SQLServer Error: 768, SSL Provider: Not enough memory is available to complete this request [SQLSTATE 08001]'. I am really low on the memory? It has total of 32 GB, but I set maximum to 20. Task manager shows it is using 99% of physical memory. Memoryclerk-sqlbufferpool has 32GB for the Virtual Memory Reserved, and 20 GB for the Virtual Memory Committed. From the perfmon, SQLServer:Memory Manager/Total ServerMemory shows 21GB of memory in use, that's what I set the maximum to. I don't where the rest of memory go. Can anyone advice?     I have problem using IIS 7 and SQL Server 2008. When I trying to show my website using IIS as webserver I get the message "[SqlException (0x80131904): Login failed for user..." When I using the webserver included in Visual Studio 2010 to show same website there is no problem to access the database. Why is it working with VS2010 webserver but not with IIS?

I know I can use the Section Break routine, but the problem is the table needs to go into a company frame (which I cannot turn onto a landscape), so I literally need to turn the table by 90 degrees.     I want to be able to find and replace eat with Eat in Microsoft Word 2007. However, I don’t want to replace every occurrence of eat such as those that can be found inside other words such as great and meat. I have tried doing this using the regular Find and Replace tool, but I get words with capital letters in the middle. Is there a way I can just replace eat with Eat if it only exists on its own?
