• MySql: Select all entries with count...

  Hey guys quick question, I have a query that I want to count all entries it finds, and select all so when I use while($row=mysql_fetch_assoc($query)){ it will list all entries. The problem I am encountering is that while, all the entries are successfully counted and the right number is listed, only the latest entry is select and listed when I echo $row['title']. If I delete , COUNT(*) as total then it selects all but I was wondering if it was possible to use count and select *. I was wondering if anyone knew what I am doing wrong? • Help with iphone dev - beyond bounds error

  I'm just learning iphone development, so please forgive me for what is probably a beginner error. I've searched around and haven't found anything specific to my problem, so hopefully it is an easy fix. The book has examples of building a table from data hard coded via an array. Unfortunately it never really tells you how to get data from a URL, so I've had to look that up and that is where my problems show up. When I debug in xcode, it seems like the count is correct, so I don't understand why it is going out of bounds?   I've had this sort of problem before, and it didn't get a satisfactory answer. I have a viewcontroller with a property called "counties" that is an NSMutableArray. I'm going to drill down a navigation screen to a view that is about selecting the counties for a geographical search. So the search page drills down to the "select counties" page. I pass NSMutableArray *counties to the second controller as I push the second one on the navigation stack. I actually set that second controller's "selectedCounties" property (also an NSMutableArray) with a pointer to my first controller's "counties", as you'll see below. • How do I read Unicode characters from an MS Access 2007 database through Java?

  In Java, I have written a program that reads a UTF8 text file. The text file contains a SQL query of the SELECT kind. The program then executes the query on the Microsoft Access 2007 database and writes all fields of the first row to a UTF8 text file. The problem I have is when a row is returned that contains unicode characters, such as "?". These characters show up as "?" in the text file. I know that the text files are read and written correctly, because a dummy UTF8 character ("?") is read from the text file containing the SQL query and written to the text file containing the resulting row. The UTF8 character looks correct when the written text file is opened in Notepad, so the reading and writing of the text files are not part of the problem.   Install Shield Premier 2009: Basic MSI Project I have a dll that is supposed to be removed during uninstall. But this dll is being used by explorer.exe, it is used for generating windows explorer context menus with their icons(same as the menu items, icons we see when we right click on any file/folder and see the WinRAR items, icons). Manually, I have to unregister the dll and close explorer.exe from task manager and again run explorer.exe. Then I can delete the dll. So from Install Shield how to delete this dll without any problem(as we see while uninstalling WinRAR or other software there is no problem no message boxes shown and the related context menu icons also removed).

  I have an element: <select id="row" /> I want to append a string to the end of the id attribute, like this: <select id="row_1" /> The jQuery I am using to achieve this is (from within an each): $(this).attr('id',$(this).attr('id')+'_'+row_count); This looks ugly as sin, and whilst it works I want to know if there is a simpler solution. In this example, the ID prefix (e.g. row) is never constant, so I can't just do 'row_'+row_count. Cheers!

• Retrieve binary data from S3 storage through AWS.NET in C#

  I've tested most of the included samples in the AWS SDK for .NET and they all works fine. I can PUT objects, LIST objects and DELETE objects in a bucket, but... lets say I delete the original and want to sync those files missing locally? I would like to make a GET object (by key/name and bucket ofcause). I can find the object, but how do I read the binary data from S3 through the API? Do I have to write my own SOAP wrapper for this or is there some kinda sample for this out "here" ? :o) In hope of a sample. It does not have to tollerate execeptions etc. I just need to see the main parts that connects, retreives and stores the file back on my ASP.net or C# project. Anyone???

• Why doesn't Maven's mvn clean ever work the first time?

  Nine times out of ten when I run mvn clean on my projects I experience a build error. I have to execute mvn clean multiple times until the build error goes away. Does anyone else experience this? Is there any way to fix this within Maven? If not, how do you get around it? I wrote a bat file that deletes the target folders and that works well, but it's not practical when you are working on multiple projects. I am using Maven 2.2.1.   Hey ! I started doing a new project in PHP / MySql . The Aim of this project is to manage articles for a magazine that i am the editor of. So the content of the articles, i decided i would store with the "TEXT" column type of MySql Now when i retrieve this column and print it with echo, the newlines are not there. Its all on the same line. $resset = mysql_query("select txt from articles where id = 1"); $row = mysql_fetch_assoc($resset); $txt = $row['txt']; echo $txt; //doesnt print it as it is in the database as it was typed (multiline) Find below, the text as it looks in the database and as it looks when it is echoed But within the database, its stored with newlines. • NDepend: How to not display 'tier' assemblies in dependency graph?

  I was able to do this in an earlier version of nDepend by going to tools-options and setting which assemblies would be part of the analysis (and ignore the rest). The latest version of the trial version of nDepend lets me set it, but it seems to ignore the setting and always analyze all assemblies whether I want it to or not. I tried to delete the "tier" assemblies by moving them over to the "application assemblies" list, but when I delete them out of there, they just get added back to the "tier" list, which I can't ignore. I don't want my dependency graph to contain assemblies like "system," "system.xml," and "system.serialization!" I want only MY assemblies in the dependency graph! Or is that a paid-version feature now? Is there a way to do what I'm talking about?

  Here's a tricky one - how do I programatically create and interrogate a database who's contents I can't really foresee? I am implementing a generic input form system. The user can create PHP forms with a WYSIWYG layout and use them for any purpose he wishes. He can also query the input. So, we have three stages: a form is designed and generated. This is a one-off procedure, although the form can be edited later. This designs the database. someone or several people make use of the form - say for daily sales reports, stock keeping, payroll, etc. Their input to the forms is written to the database. others, maybe management, can query the database and generate reports. Since these forms are generic, I can't predict the database structure - other than to say that it will reflect HTML form fields and consist of a the data input from collection of edit boxes, memos, radio buttons and the like. Questions and remarks: A) how can I best structure the database, in terms of tables and columns? What about primary keys? My first thought was to use the control name to identify each column, then I realized that the user can edit the form and rename, so that maybe "name" becomes "employee" or "wages" becomes ":salary". I am leaning towards a unique number for each. B) how best to key the rows? I was thinking of a timestamp to allow me to query and a column for the row Id from A) C) I have to handle column rename/insert/delete. Foe deletion, I am unsure whether to delete the data from the database. Even if the user is not inputting it from the form any more he may wish to query what was previously entered. Or there may be some legal requirements to retain the data. Any gotchas in column rename/insert/delete? D) For the querying, I can have my PHP interrogate the database to get column names and generate a form with a list where each entry has a database column name, a checkbox to say if it should be used in the query and, based on column type, some selection criteria. That ought to be enough to build searches like "position = 'senior salesman' and salary 50k". E) I probably have to generate some fancy charts - graphs, histograms, pie charts, etc for query results of numerical data over time. I need to find some good FOSS PHP for this. F) What else have I forgotten? This all seems very tricky to me, but I am database n00b - maybe it is simple to you gurus?

  Hey everyone, I am new to C and I am working on an XOR linked list for a project. I have most of the code done, but I can't seem to get the delete function of the list to work properly. It seems able to delete some numbers, but not any number you pass into the function. Could anyone experienced with C take a look and possibly point out where I went wrong? The question I have is about double pointers and their auto_ptr equivalent, if that makes sense. I have a function that accepts a double pointer as its parameter and the function allocates resources for it: void foo ( Image** img ) { ... *img = new Image(); ...} This function is then used like this: Image* img = NULL; foo ( &img ); ... delete img; I want to use auto_ptr to avoid having to call delete explicitly. • Updating a TableView with a WebService and Saving to CoreData

  I am working on a project where I have a table view that is currently updated via a web request that returns XML. I implemented -(int)numberOfRowsInTableView:(NSTableView*)tv and -(id)tableView:(NSTableView *)tv objectValueForTableColumn:(NSTableColumn*)tableColumn row:(int)row in my XML parsing class, and have the table updated with the data that is pulled down from the server. I want to save the data that is pulled down using Core Data, so that the table can be saved/loaded. Then later on application start when the web request is made, it will only add data that is not already present. (The XML is sorted by release date, so later I will check to see which release dates are not loaded up from the Core Data store, and only load newer entries.) How would I go about implementing this? I am a very new Cocoa developer, but have gone through the entire Hillegass book. Thanks so much.

• Invert regexp in vim

  There's a few "how do I invert a regexp" questions here on stackoverflow, but I can't find one for vim (if it does exist, by goggle-fu is lacking today). In essence I want to match all non-printable characters and delete them. I could write a short script, or drop to a shell and use tr or something similar to delete, but a vim solution would be dandy :-) Vim has the atom \p to match printable characters, however trying to do this :s/[^\p]//g to match the inverse failed and just left me with every 'p' in the file. I've seen the (?!xxx) sequence in other questions, and vim seems to not recognise this sequence. I've not found seen an atom for non-printable chars. In the interim, I'm going to drop to external tools, but if anyone's got any trick up their sleeve to do this, it'd be welcome :-) Ta!

  So I am using Limonade PHP which has a RESTful design which emulates PUT, POST, DELETE routes for create, update, delete. I am trying to develop some form validation which is going well. The major problem I am facing though is how to return my filtered data (which has failed validation) back to repopulate the create or edit form. How would this be done?   Hi, If we are looking for line intersections (horizontal and vertical lines only) and we have n lines with half of them vertical and no intersections then Sorting the list of line end points on y value will take N log N using mergesort Each insert delete and search of our data structue (assuming its a b-tree) will be < log n so the total search time will be N log N What am i missing here, if the time to sort using mergesort takes a time of N log N and insert and delete takes a time of < log n are we dropping the constant factor to give an overal time of N log N. If not then how comes < log n goes missing in total ONotation run time? Thanks
