• CSS menu is flickering when scrolling through it with hover effects

You can see it here: http://dealmob.de/index_dev.html when u hover over the menu up and down fast u see the that its not staying, insteads its flickering like you would change the margins/paddings by few pixels.   I have a BroadcastReceiver which loads data from the Internet and then it should send them back to a Widget. But how can I do this? • jquery selection with .not()

  Hello, I have some troubles with jQuery. I have a set of Divs with .square classes. Only one of them is supposed to have an .active class. This .active class may be activated/de-activated onClick. Here is my code : jQuery().ready(function() { $(".square").not(".active").click(function() { //initialize $('.square').removeClass('active'); //activation $(this).addClass('active'); // some action here... }); $('.square.active').click(function() { $(this).removeClass('active'); }); }); My problem is that the first function si called, even if I click on an active .square, as if the selector was not working. • IIS 6 Private Key certificate access

  Hi, We have a Web asp.net application running in the framework 2.0 and hosted in an IIS 6 server, and the OS is windows server 2003. The web application is suing a client certificate to be authenticated by a web service. We have impersonalized the application pool with de user “Network Service”. The problem is when we have to access to the private key of the certificate that is stored in the machine key/my storage. The user Network Service cannot access the key. We have given privileges to the Network Service user using the winhttpcertcfg.exe tool, however the result is the same. When we impersonalize the application pool with the local administrator the result is successfully. Therefore we think that the problem is the privileges of the user. If someone could give us some information about, we would be gratefully. Thanks in advance

  I'm looking for a pre-built solution I can use in my RoR application. I'm ideally looking for something similar to the ASP.NET Forms authentication that provides email validation, sign-up controls, and allows users to reset their passwords. Oh yeah, and easily allows me to pull the user that is currently logged into the application. I've started to look into the already written pieces, but I've found it to be really confusing. I've looked at LoginGenerator, RestfulAuthentication, SaltedLoginGenerator, but there doesn't seem to be one place that has great tutorials or provide a comparison of them. If there's a site I just haven't discovered yet, or if there is a de-facto standard that most people use, I'd appreciate the helping hand.

• Use LINQ to insert data from dataset to SQL

  Let's say I have a dataset in an ASP.NET website (.NET 3.5) with 5 tables, each has roughly 30,000 rows and an average of 12 columns. I want to insert all of the data from the dataset into 5 very-similar-but-not-quite-identical tables in SQL Server 2008. I also want to use LINQ (personal preference - trying to learn something new). Is it as simple as iterating through the dataset and, for each row, creating a new instance of the associated class, initializing its data with the dataset's row, adding it to the data model, and then doing one giant SubmitChanges at the end? Are there better ways of doing this with LINQ? Or is this the de-facto standard?

  I would like to know if the app icon on the iPhone can be slightly different than the one shown in a large version in Apple's App Store. • recommend a server side technology for gwt (beginner)

I am developing a gwt project and am looking for an appropriate server side technology. it should support be open source and support user login (and not using openID...) with password recovery etc it seems that the de-facto standard would be spring + hibernate. however, I am unfamiliar with neither of them and understand that the learning curve (especially for spring) is very high. gwt was quite easy to learn using GOOG's excellent online tutorials but the spring equivalent seem to impose lots of configuration files and deeper understanding of its internals. so I am looking for a simpler server side technology to deploy my gwt app. I am definitely prepared to learn a new framework if necessary but not something that would take me 2 months just to understand the fundamentals... any ideas...?

  How do you know if you "Test Fixture" is right-sized. And by "Test Fixture" I mean a class with a bunch of tests in it. One thing that I've always noticed with my test fixtures is that they get to be kind of verbose; seeing as they could also be not verbose enough, how do you get a sense of when your unit tests are the right size? My assumption is that (at least in the context of web development) you should have one test fixture class per page. I've tried starting from both the first value and working forwards, and the last value and working backwards but I just can't seem to get it to work. Having one of those frustrating days... It would be nice if the signature was something like CollapseDateList( dateList, separator, ellipsis ) :-)

• Using Java, can I have one JVM spawn another, and then have the original one exit?

  I have a need to have a running JVM start another JVM and then exit. I'm currently trying to do this via Runtime.getRuntime().exec(). The other JVM starts, but my original JVM won't exit until the "child" JVM process stops. It appears that using Runtime.getRuntime().exec() creates a parent-child relationship between the processes. Is there some way to de-couple the spawned process so that the parent can die, or some other mechanism to spawn a process without any relationship to the creating process? Note that this seems exactly like this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2566502/using-java-to-spawn-a-process-and-keep-it-running-after-parent-quits but the accepted answer there doesn't actually work, at least not on my system (Windows 7, Java 5 and 6). It seems that maybe this is a platform-dependent behavior. I'm looking for a platform independent way to reliably invoke the other process and let my original process die.

  I am loading an array with floats like this: NSArray *arr= [NSArray arrayWithObjects: [NSNumber numberWithFloat:1.9], [NSNumber numberWithFloat:1.7], [NSNumber numberWithFloat:1.6], [NSNumber numberWithFloat:1.9],nil]; Now I know this is the correct way of doing it, however I am confused by the retail counts. Each Object is created by the [NSNumber numberWithFloat:] method. This gives the object a retain count of 1 dosnt it? - otherwise the object would be reclaimed The arrayWithObjects: method sends a retain message to each object. This means each object has a retain cont of 2. When the array is de-allocated each object is released leaving them with a retain count of 1. What have I missed?

• Is there an existing tool for jsonp like fetching of xml in jquery?

  Hi, For a web service I'm developing I would like my embedded code (on the client's site) to fetch an xml file from my sever script which resides on my domain. As this is a cross-domain request I figured to use jsonp as it seems the de facto standard for such apis. However, for my application it would be easier for me to use xml instead of json. Now, I could of course convert my xml to json on the server and then back again to xml in the client's site javascript, but that seems unnecessarily cumbersome. What I really need is and xmlp solution, xml with padding. I tired googling but couldn't find a jquery plug-in that does that. Anyone knows a simple solution?

  Hello.... I have an SSRS report that contains several subreports. The user has the ability to select/deselect which subreports they want to produce using several Boolean parameters. If a subreport is deselected then it is not rendered by setting the Visibility property. However, the DataSet associated with the de-selected subreport still executes causing the execution time to take longer than expected. Is there any way to tell a dataset on a subreport or Tablix not to execute based on a Parameter selection? Thanks
