• Cocos2D, UIScrollView, and initial placement of a scene

  Hello: I am using a UIScrollView to forward touches to Cocos2D as outlined in http://getsetgames.com/2009/08/21/cocos2d-and-uiscrollview/ Everything works great after a few days of working with it, except one thing: when the initial view appears on the screen, the background appears to be scrolled to the center. As soon as I try to scroll around, the image jumps to 0,0, and everything works as normal, except the touches are offset by half the width and height of the background image. Am I overlooking something basic? I can't think of a useful portion of the code that illustrates the issue, as I can't track it down, but would be happy to post code if anyone has any ideas. • Possible to Freeze Columns in a WPF ListView/GridView?

  I currently have a GridView inside a ListView.View. The GridView columns will far exceed the width of the screen, so there will always be horizontal scrolling. What I would like to do is to have certain columns always remain on the screen regardless of scrolling. So the first x columns from the left are frozen (ala Excel), and the rest can scroll. It does not need to be dynamic/user selected--I know in advance which columns need to be frozen. Is this possible?

  I would like to show in dialog all elements with specific class. The dialog should hide the rest of the page. So for example: On this SO page I want to show all elements with class="user-info". Those elements would be shown in dialog with same width and height and same css and everything else would be hidden. It would be like cutting them out of the page and pasting them in a dialog. Any ideas how this could be done?

• How can I force overflow: hidden to not use up my padding-right space

  I have the following code: <div style="width: 100px; overflow: hidden; border: 1px solid red; background-color: #c0c0c0; padding-right: 20px; "> 2222222222222222222222111111111111111111111111113333333333333333333</div> (XHTML 1.0 transitional) What happens is that the padding-right doesn't appear, it's occupied by the content, which means the overflow uses up the padding right space and only "cuts off" after the padding. Is there any way to force the browser to overflow before the padding-right, which means my div will show with the padding right? What I get is the first div in the following image, what i want is something like the 2nd div: image

  TLDR I want to add some dynamic content into an Ext-JS window / popup. Currently I have tried assigning this content to a div and pulling on the innerhtml of that div like: new Ext.Window({ height: 50, width: 160, x: 0, y: 30, layout: "fit", html: document.getElementById('output').innerHTML; }).show(); Am using jquery & getjson to get the dynamic data. But that does nothing at all. Has anyone done something similar before? Can I give the html of the window an id and use it like an element?

• simple float issue on wordpress blog

  I am modifying a wordpress theme completely, and have run into one very simple problem. Please look at my page here: wordpress blog When you scroll down, you can see the one blank area under the first post. For some reason, that block isn't floating left.   I'm using this jquery autocomplete plug-in with rails: http://docs.jquery.com/Plugins/Autocomplete I can't figure out how to format my results, both in my Rails controller and in my javascript file. How do I process the JSON in the script.js file and/or in my controller for it to work?

  Hey, I'm new to silverlight and wpf programming I've just created a simple storyboard in silverlight which increases height and width of a button. • Give style attributes to sub-elements inside a <style> tag?

  My <style> for thumbnails currently looks like this: <style type="text/css"> img.TN { width: 100%; margin-bottom: 5.294%; cursor: pointer; } </style> This is annoying, because I have to apply this style to every single thumbnail image individually, when there could be any number of them on the screen at any given time. All of the thumbnails are inside a single <div> that groups them together, and I'd like to apply a single style to the <div> that will push the attributes I need down to all of the the <img> elements nested inside, regardless how many thumbnails there are. I'm using ASP.NET 2.0, and CSS 2.0 Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks!

• Problem with pgfplot label

  I want to draw an x-y-diagram with axis labels. Unfortunately the ylabel is misplaced. It looks as depending on the actual data. When the other data line in the sample below is used instead of the upper line, it looks better. • Dropping support for IE6, Is swfObject still relevant?

  We have recently dropped support for IE6 at my job. The other developers have have opted for a generic object embed method: <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="example.swf" width="800" height="600" > <param name="movie" value="example.swf"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"> </object> This seems to work in all modern browsers but it really rubs me the wrong way. I'm sure this is wrong in several ways and is clearly a big step back in sophistication. So my question is in 2 parts, what is wrong with the above method? Is swfObject still best practice and what issues does it solve (besides IE6 click-activate)? Citations less then a year old would also be helpful.

  Hi - I'm trying to place a nice border around an image that's 250x250, using only html and css. The markup is this: <div id="img-container"><img src="pic.jpg" border="0"/></div> And the css is: #img-container { height: 225px; width: 225px; padding: 3px; border: 1px solid black; z-index: 10; position: relative; overflow: hidden; border-radius: 10px; } #img-container img { z-index: 5; } Basically, I want the div container to clip the picture's edges that exceed its boundaries. This will achieve the rounded edges effect using the border-radius property (-moz-border-radius, -webkit-border-radius, etc) - if it actually works or could even be done. Looking for tips and tricks on this. Thanks. And, yes, I'm obviously not a web designer :)

  Hi, I want to find out the zoom level of what is being displayed in a browser window based on the javascripts' window object properties (http://www.javascriptkit.com/jsref/window.shtml) to which I have access. I just can't seem to find the right mathematical formula for the zoom based on the inner width, page offset, etc. I found a solution, but that uses the document.body.getBoundingClientRect call which does not return anything in my case and for which I can't tell if there's a suitable replacement from the window properties.   I've written a simple Java applet to generate a technical image based upon some data in a CSV file. I'm passing in the CSV file as a parameter to the applet: <applet code = "assaymap.AssayMapApplet" archive = "http://localhost/applet_test/AssayMap.jar" height="600px" width="800px"> <param name="csvFile" value="http://localhost/applet_test/test.csv"> </applet> As far as I understood applet security restrictions, an applet should be able to read data from the host they're on. These applets here http://www.jalview.org/examples/applets.html are using the same approach of passing in a text data file as a parameter. So I'm not sure why my own applet isn't working. The error message I get thrown is: Error with processing the CSV data. java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.io.FilePermission http:\localhost\applet_test\test.csv read)

I read on some post that handler for the first DropDownList is not necessary but, how is it possible to tell DropDownList to call my sub after changevalue?   Hi, I have a background image which I apply to the body. The image is only in the bottom and stretch to the entire width of the page. The image is 1 X 320 px. body { background-image: url("../images/bg-main.gif"); background-position: 0% 100%; background-repeat:repeat-x; } The rest of my web site is in 1024 X 768 resolution. It works perfectly until I dynamically insert a new DIV in the middle of the page using javascript. It cause the browser scroll bar to appear and when I scroll down to the bottom, I can see the image stopping right at it's original position. How can I make my image get down again without reloading the page ??? I'm using the EXTJS framework to avoid reloading the page... Thanks Alain
