  • Copying 6000 tables and data from sqlserver to oracle ==> fastest method?

    i need to copy the tables and data (about 5 yrs data, 6200 tables) stored in sqlserver, i am using datastage and odbc connection to connect and datstage automatically creates the table with data, but its taking 2-3 hours per table as tables are very large(0.5 gig, 300+columns and about 400k rows). How can i achieve this the fastes as at this rate i am able to only copy 5 tables per day but within 30 days i need move over these 6000 tables.

  • Matlab GUI - How to get the previous value entered from a callback function?

    Hi, I know that this is probably a simple problem but I am new to Matlab GUI's and basically want to get the old value which used to be stored in the text box to replace the value which has just been entered. E.g. Text box contains a valid string, User enters invalid string, Callback func, validates input and realises new input is an error and reverts to the old previous value. How should this be implemented or done? Atm I am just using the get and set property values.     Even if I have different modules in my jee application including myproject-web and myproject-ejb; is it possible to call (or inject) my ejb session bean which is in the ejb module from a managed bean which is in the web module? When I asked before, I see the following declaration: @EJB private BeanInterface yourbean However, I wanna learn that whether it is possible or not, to call each other between different contexts (one of it in ejb context, the other one -managed bean- is in web context)? (I say unknown object type because I am not sure what direction to go) Once I have the data loaded I need to do some processing on certain elements that are now loaded into the new object. For sake of example, we can say that the xml file is full of elements named and within the car element I need to process the element.   • Load XML file into object. Best method?

    Hello, We are receiving an XML file from our client. I want to load the data from this file into a class, but am unsure about which way to go about it. I have an XSD to defining what is expected in the XML file, so therefore i can easily validate the XML file. Can i use the XSD file to load the data into a POCO, using some sort of serialization? The other way i was thinking was to load the xml into a XMLDocument and use XPath to populate each property in my class. Cheers for any advice

    I just solved the first problem from Project Euler in JavaFX for the fun of it and wondered what block expressions are actually good for? Why are they superior to functions? Is it the because of the narrowed scope? Less to write? Performance? Here's the Euler example.   • Why is my List.Sort method in C# reversing the order of my list?

    I have a list of items in a generic list: A1 (sort index 1) A2 (sort index 2) B1 (sort index 3) B2 (sort index 3) B3 (sort index 3) The comparator on them takes the form: this.sortIndex.CompareTo(other.sortIndex) When I do a List.Sort() on the list of items, I get the following order out: A1 A2 B3 B2 B1 It has obviously worked in the sense that the sort indexes are in the right order, but I really don't want it to be re-ordering the 'B' items. Is there any tweak I can make to my comparator to fix this?

  • Cross-browser method for hiding page elements until all content is loaded to prevent layout from appearing broken during load?

    I have an issue where due to some elements loading faster than others, the page looks broken for a few seconds at the start. An example is the CSS Pie behavior that allows me to do curved corners in IE, it appears before it becomes curved which looks bad. What would be ideal would be it somehow knowing when everything is loaded and then appear all at once, possibly including some kind of elegant visual way of not making the user feel impatient... any ideas or common tricks for doing this?

  • Can I access views when drawn in the drawRect method?

    When creating the content view of a tableViewCell, I used the drawInRect:withFont, drawAtPoint... and others, inside drawRect: since all I needed was to lay some text. Turns out, part of the text drawn need to be clickable URLs. So I decided to create a UIWebView and insert it into my drawRect. Everything seems to be laid out fine, the problem is that interaction with the UIWebView is not happening. I tried enabling the interaction, did not work. I want to know, since with drawRect: I am drawing to the current graphics context, there is anything I can do to have my subviews interact with the user? here is some of my code I use inside the UITableViewCell class. -(void) drawRect:(CGRect)rect{ NSString *comment = @"something"; [comment drawAtPoint:point forWidth:195 withFont:someFont lineBreakMode:UILineBreakModeMiddleTruncation]; NSString *anotherCommentWithURL = @"this comment has a URL http://twtr.us"; UIWebView *webView = [[UIWebView alloc] initWithFrame:someFrame]; webView.delegate = self; webView.text = anotherCommentWithURL; [self addSubView:webView]; [webView release]; } As I said, the view draws fine, but there is no interaction with the webView from the outside. the URL gets embedded into HTML and should be clickable. It is not. I got it working on another view, but on that one I lay the views. Any ideas?

    You may ask why do I need it? I have to detect all white objects at the B/W image. I'm coloring each object and taking its rect. In order fill each object with different color I would be very happy to use a function that can for a given color gimme a next one or so. In Qt there is a nice one that is called nextColor or so, returns the integer representing the next color(which can be easily translated to RGB). Does Cocoa have sth like that?
