• Dynamic editor upload into web page. Need advice

  Hello everybody, I am writing intranet site for tracking employees science activities in organization. There lots of editable information on each personal page (science degree, publications & so on) so I upload editor per request (user clicks "edit" and modal dialog with html editor: set of textboxes/comboboxes/autocomplete features & validation logic appears). Editor is html layout that is wrapped with jquery dialog plugin + some logic, written as javascript functions that should be invoked from the callee page (onsubmit, validate, afterLoad editor events). There are also attributes (editor preferrable with and height) that are passed to callee page also. Currently I send these functions & attribute as ... function onsubmit() { }; function validate() { } var width = 640; var height = 800 ... code that is embedded into the request page. Function calls and editor markup wrap with jquery plugin completed in the callee page. It works, but I have some try { call editor event handler } catch { } stuff in callee page (because not every editor provides these functions) and some attributes (editor width & height for instance) that are loaded as variables declared in javascript. Please, suggest, is there a better approach to build & use custom editors for my situation. Thank you in advance!

• JQuery Ajax Get passing parameters

  Hi, I am working on my first MVC application and am running into a bit of a problem. I have a data table that when a row is clicked, I want to return the detail from that row. It does hit the function but nothing is passed to it. So, I have read where you pass the parameter via the data but I have tried every combination I can think of and it never shows up. • Use of putty in command line

  Hi, I'm trying to use putty in command line from an hudson job. The command is the following one: putty -ssh -2 -P 22 USERNAME@SERVER_ADDR -pw PASS -m command.txt Where 'command.txt' is a shell script to execute in the server through SSH. If i launch this command from the Window command prompt, it works, the shell script is executed on the server machine. If i launch a build of the hudson job configured with this batch command, it doesn't work. The build is running... and running... and running.. without doing anything, and i have to stop it manually. So my question is: Is it possible to launch an external programm (i.e. putty) from an hudson job ? ps: i tried SSH plugin but... not a really good plugin (pre/post build, fail status of the commands launched not caught by hudson, etc.) Thanks in advance for your help. • Make Trac use a Drupal user database for authentication

  I am trying to set up a Trac instance as a complement to a Drupal site and would like to give users the possibility to use their Drupal account in Trac, too, ideally in a single sign-on fashion (if the user is already logged into Drupal, he is automatically logged into Trac). The question now is how to accomplish this. I have found a plugin named DrupalIntegration which seems to implement that functionality; however, it is poorly documented - in fact, not documented at all. I managed to install it, but don't know how to configure it. Here is what I came up with from looking at the source code and the documentation of the AccountManager plugin (on which DrupalIntegration depends): [components] trac.web.auth.loginmodule = disabled acct_mgr.api = enabled acct_mgr.web_ui.LoginModule = enabled acct_mgr.web_ui.RegistrationModule = disabled TracDrupalIntegration.DrupalIntegration = enabled [account-manager] drupal_database = mysql://<usernam>:<password>@localhost/<db> password_store = DrupalIntegration (<username>, <password> and <db> are naturally substituted with the correct data). While the Trac log says: 2010-12-18 10:54:09,570 Trac[loader] DEBUG: Loading TracDrupalIntegration from /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/TracDrupalIntegration-0.1-py2.5.egg this doesn't seem to work: trying to log in with a Drupal username / password results in an "Invalid username or password" error. Has someone used the DrupalIntegration and can point out to me what I did wrong? Or is there any other approach you know (or even have used in the past) to integrate Drupal and Trac that way?

• Can't make HREF change based on PHP value

  I want to retrieve the user's location and then show a link that points to an URL that changes according to that location. I just want to place the user's city name at the end of the HREF. I need this work on my wordpress site, on a static page. I use a plugin called Exec-php which let's me run PHP in pages. I have a plugin that provides me the user's city through the shortcode "[mmjs-city]". I tried to make it work through different paths but I never get the link to work. Here I tried assigning that shortcode to a value, <?php $city= "[mmjs-city]"; echo $city; echo "<a href='?s=" . $city ."'>Search for your city</a>"; ?> I added the first two lines to check whether the shortcode is working or not and if it's correctly assinged to the value $city. That part works. Then it creates the link and put's the value $city at the end of it. But when trying it instead of taking me to: /?s=new+york It takes me to: /?s=%3Cscript%20language=%22javascript%22%3Edocument.write(geoip_city());%3C/script%3E I have no idea what to do. I would be really thankful for any info on how to make it work, it's really an important feature for my site. Please ask for any further info or idk anything.   I have been looking for an answer for almost a week now, but having read all the stackoverflow items i can't seem to find a solution that is working for me. The error that i'm having is : Port: Could not establish connection.   EDIT: This question was initially too general, I think. So What I really need is a very good tutorial on how to implement the Load More function on Safari for iPhone just like the Twitter website(mobile.twitter.com) does. Just a wordpress plugin won't really help. But if the plugin is well explained, like if it is wptouch, home(that also has this function) that can also do. I know that it doesn't really matter that it is being displayed on a mobile device, but the point I am stressing is that if such a function is well explained, then it will be up to me to know how to customize it to suit me. I am using a javascript function to load entries that come from the database dynamically, so that content opens in the same page (like with twitter(tweets feed) and facebook(news feed)). • Boost::Thread linking error on OSX?

  So I'm going nuts trying to figure this one out. Here's my basic setup: I'm compiling a shared library with a bunch of core functionality that uses a lot of boost stuff. We'll call this library libpf_core.so. It's linked with the boost static libraries, specifically the python, system, filesystem, thread, and program_options libraries. This all goes swimmingly. Now, I have a little test program called test_socketio which is compiled into a shared library (it's loaded as a plugin at runtime). It uses some boost stuff like boost::bind and boost::thread, and it's linked again libpf_core.so (which has the boost libraries included remember). When I go to compile test_socketio though, out of all my plugins it gives me a linking error: [ Building test_socketio ] g++ -c -pg -g -O0 -I/usr/local/include -I../include test_socketio.cc -o test_socketio.o g++ -shared test_socketio.o -lpy_core -o test_socketio.so Undefined symbols: "boost::lock_error::lock_error()", referenced from: boost::unique_lock<boost::mutex>::lock() in test_socketio.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status And I'm going crazy trying to figure out why this is. I've tried explicitly linking boost::thread into the plugin to no avail, tried ensuring that I'm using the boost headers associated with the libraries linked into libpf_core.so in case there was a conflict there. Is there something OSX specific regarding boost that I'm missing? In my searching on google I've seen a number of other people get this error but no one seems to have come up with a satisfactory solution.

• AJAX or a server side framework?

  I am working with a friend on building a web site, in general this web site will be a custom web app along with a very custom social network type of thing.. Currently I have a mock-up site that uses simple PHP with AJAX and JSON and JQUERY and I love how it works, I love the way it all fits together. But for a mock-up I did not implement any of the Social Network design patterns such as a login, rating, groups etc.. This brought me to a higher level of decision making requirement, I need to decide if I want to develop all this functionality by hand or use some kind of a framework. I spent this entire day researching, and it would seem that using Drupal and such frameworks will make the Social Network part easy (overlooking the customization requirement for now..) but will make client side Web App development less so. I found some other frameworks that are more developer friendly (customizable) such as Zend and Symfony etc.. but these seem to take allot of the power from the client and implement it in the server side, to me this seems a waste (and an unjustified performance bottleneck) .. Finally I found Aptana Jaxer framework that seems to think the same way I feel. That said it seems a bit under-developed, I didn't find modules for a social network and the community around it seems thin.. (searching Jaxer in StackOverflow returns few results) So other then making server side DB comm a bit simpler it does not help me greatly.. My requirements are a good facility to develop web apps on while containing all the user centric logic usually used for social networks in advance. What would you recommend? EDIT: OK, lats fine tune this question, after considering this abit further, is there a good down loadable source of a social network site in PHP that I can work around in building my web app? (I really like using JQUERY AJAX JSON etc..)

• Greasemonkey failing to GM_setValue()

  I have a Greasemonkey script that uses a Javascript object to maintain some stored objects. It covers quite a large volume of information, but substantially less than it successfully stored and retrieved prior to encountering my problem. One value refuses to save, and I can not for the life of me determine why. The following problem code: Works for other larger objects being maintained. Is presently handling a smaller total amount of data than previously worked. Is not colliding with any function or other object definitions. Further narrowing down the issue is that this particular value is successfully saved as an empty object ("{}") during code initialization, but skipping that also does not help. Reloading the page confirms that saving of the nonempty object truly failed. Any idea what could cause this behavior? I've thoroughly explored the possibility of hitting size constraints, but it doesn't appear that can be the problem--as previously mentioned, I've already reduced storage usage. Other larger objects save still, and the total number of objects, which was not high already, has further been reduced by an amount greater than the quantity of data I'm attempting to store here.

• Model binding difficulty

  I am having a model and I am using ajax.post. I can see that the model binding isn`t being done for the arraylists in my model, though binding done for the properties of int or string type. Why is that so? My code is as below. • How to solve this problem with Python

  I am "porting" an application I wrote in C++ into Python. This is the current workflow: Application is started from the console Application parses CLI args Application reads an ini configuration file which specifies which plugins to load etc Application starts a timer Application iterates through each loaded plugin and orders them to start work. This spawns a new worker thread for the plugin The plugins carry out their work and when completed, they die When time interval (read from config file) is up, steps 5-7 is repeated iteratively Since I am new to Python (2 days and counting), the distinction between script, modules and packages are still a bit hazy to me, and I would like to seek advice from Pythonista as to how to implement the workflow described above, using Python as the programing language. In order to keep things simple, I have decided to leave out the time interval stuff out, and instead run the python script/scripts as a cron job instead. This is how I am thinking of approaching it: Encapsulate the whole application in a package which is executable (i.e. can be run from the command line with arguments. Write the plugins as modules (I think maybe its better to implement each module in a separate file?) I havent seen any examples of using threading in Python yet. Could someone provide a snippet of how I could spawn a thread to run a module. Also, I am not sure how to implement the concept of plugins in Python - any advice would be helpful - especially with a code snippet.

• System Error when running PyQt4's loadUi()

  Hello, I'm pretty new to Qt, Python and their combinations. I'm currently writing a QGIS plugin in python (I used QtCreator 2.1 (Qt Designer 4.7) to generate a .ui-file and am now trying to use it for a Quantum GIS plugin that's written in Python 2.5 (and running in the Quantum GIS Python 2.5 console)). I am running into trouble when loading the ui-file dynamically when the program runs the loadUi() function. What throws me off is that the error occurs outside my script. Does that mean, I'm passing something wrong into it? Where does the error come in? • How to update to jersey 2.X on an app using jersey 1.1X?

  i recently faced a problem with the handling of exceptions using jersey. In this case it was that the exceptions thrown from Exception mapper are not re thrown to the underlaying container, i searched and found that this has been fixed in the 2.0 version. But i'm using jersey 1.10 and the 2.X dependencies are all different and its also maven based. Since this project is not using maven, how do i use the more recent version?In the 2.X versions there are no jackson json jars for example. So i'm having some doubts in how to upgrade.   I am trying to do a CORS call to a WCF service endpoint hosted on IIS7.5. I have configured custom headers in IIS. My configuration looks like below <customHeaders> <add name="Access-Control-Allow-Methods" value="GET,PUT,POST,DELETE,OPTIONS" /> <add name="Access-Control-Allow-Headers" value="x-user-session,origin, content-type, accept" /> <add name="Access-Control-Allow-Credentials" value="true" /> </customHeaders> When I do a POST request I get following error message "Request header field x-user-session is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Headers" If I remove my custom header from the call and run it, everything works fine.
