  • Running time for Dijkstra's algorithm on a priority queue implemented by sorted list/array

    So I'm curious to know what the running time for the algorithm is on on priority queue implemented by a sorted list/array. I know for an unsorted list/array it is O((n^2+m)) where n is the number of vertices and m the number of edges. Thus that equates to O(n^2) time. But would it be faster if i used an sorted list/array...What would the running time be? I know extractmin would be constant time.

  • Why is C++0x's `noexcept` checked dynamically?

    I am curious about the rationale behind noexcept in the C++0x FCD. throw(X) was depreciated, but noexcept seems to do the same thing. Is there a reason that noexcept isn't checked at compile time? It seems that it would be better if these functions were checked statically that they only called throwing functions within a try block.

  • Adding to %TIME% variable in windows cmd script

    I realize that this could probably be done easier in any number of other scripting languages but started to do it quick in cmd and now Im curious. Looking to start a process at an offset to the time that another process started. Lets say 5 minutes to keep it simple. Is there a way to add to the %TIME% variable? For instance: start /b foo.exe at %TIME% + 5 minutes bar.exe Thanks for any assistance

I know that recursive languages are a subset of recursively enumerable languages and that all recursive languages are decidable. What I'm curious about is how recursive languages compare to context-sensitive languages. Can I assume that context-sensitive languages are a strict subset of recursive languages, and therefore all context-sensitive languages are decidable?

    Is there a way to make jQuery use objects in a conditional statement as an object in a hierarchy. For Example, I want to validate that something exist then tell it to do something just using the this selector. Like this if ($(".tnImg").length) { //i have to declare what object I am targeting here to get this to work $(this).animate({ opacity: 0.5, }, 200 ); } Is there a way to get jQuery to do this? EDIT: I guess I want to create something just like the stackoverflow star or gmail inbox star. I have a set of list items that i've added several controls to.     Hi I was wondering if there is any jquery function around which can take this dateTime "2010-10-18 10:06" and convert and split it returning "2010/10/18" and "10:06". It would be also nice if the same function could either receive "2010-10-18 10:06" or "2010-10-18" only and return as mentioned above, or different formats besides "2010/10/18" like 18-10-2010" or and 18th of October 2010, giving the option but not that important, just curious about jQuery power dealing with dates.     Hello I have written this code to convert string in such format "0(532) 222 22 22" to integer such as 05322222222 . class Phone(): def __init__(self,input): self.phone = input def __str__(self): return self.phone #convert to integer. def to_int(self): return int((self.phone).replace(" ","").replace("(","").replace(")","")) test = Phone("0(532) 222 22 22") print test.to_int() It feels very clumsy to use 3 replace methods to solve this. I am curious if there is a better solution?

    When looking to get data from a web page whats the recommended method if the page does not provide a structured data feed? Am I right in thinking that its just a case of doing an NSURLRequest and then hacking what you need out of the responseData(NSData*)? I am not too concerned about the implementation in Xcode, I am more curious about actually collecting the data, before I start coding a "hunt & peck" through a list of data. gary
