  • Public Wi-Fi and software updates

    - by coding4fun
According to Microsoft, "Never update your software on a public Internet connection." So I have some questions. 1. What if a public Wi-Fi hotspot is the only Internet available, ever? Never update anything? 2. What happens if Windows or some other program is set to update automatically and attempts to do so while you are using a public Wi-Fi? Disable all automatic updates on all software? 3. Will VPN help to secure software updates? If so, how to go about it? Thanks.

  • Binding MySQL to run from the public or private LAN IP address - which one is faster

    - by Lamin Barrow
So we have 2 servers all running at the same web host. We have bind MySQL to listen on the public ip-address of the database server and the web server connects to it from the public ip. Both servers run on the same private network. Currently, the DB connect method from our php script takes about 3ms to connect to the MySQL database server host. My question is, would MySql data interaction from the web server be faster if we bind it to listen on the private lan address on the database server instead of the public IP? or is it the same regardless and it wont make a different.

  • Cut Caseload Costs, Speed Service Delivery For Social Services

    - by michael.seback
Lower Caseload Costs, Speedier Service Delivery with New Oracle Social Services Solution Oracle has just introduced a new solution for social services agencies that's designed to help case workers address the challenges of rising workloads and growing demands by citizens for additional services. In the past, IT departments developed custom software in an effort to meet program outcomes. "Because this capability is out of the box with the Oracle solution, there's less complexity for organizations and an overall lower total cost of ownership," says Kimberly Ellison-Taylor, Oracle's executive director of health and human services. "Self service brings costs down to just pennies per interaction and makes it possible for clients to receive government services more quickly," Ellison-Taylor says. read more

  • Welcome Relief

    - by michael.seback
Government organizations are experiencing unprecedented demand for social services. The current economy continues to put immense stress on social service organizations. Increased need for food assistance, employment security, housing aid and other critical services is keeping agencies busier than ever. ... The Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) uses Oracle's social services solution in its employment security program. KDOL has used Siebel Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for nearly a decade, and recently purchased Oracle Policy Automation to improve its services even further. KDOL implemented Siebel CRM in 2002, and has expanded its use of it over the years. The agency started with Siebel CRM in the call center and later moved it into case management. Siebel CRM has been a strong foundation for KDOL in the face of rising demand for unemployment benefits, numerous labor-related law changes, and an evolving IT environment. ... The result has been better service for constituents. "It's really enabled our staff to be more effective in serving clients," said Hubka. That's a trend the department plans to continue. "We're 100 percent down the path of Siebel, in terms of what we're doing in the future," Hubka added. "Their vision is very much in line with what we're planning on doing ourselves." ... Community Services is the leading agency responsible for the safety and well-being of children and young people within Australia's New South Wales (NSW) Government. Already a longtime Oracle Case Management user, Community Services recently implemented Oracle Policy Automation to ensure accurate, consistent decisions in the management of child safety. "Oracle Policy Automation has helped to provide a vehicle for the consistent application of the Government's 'Keep Them Safe' child protection action plan," said Kerry Holling, CIO for Community Services. "We believe this approach is a world-first in the structured decisionmaking space for child protection and we believe our department is setting an example that other child protection agencies will replicate." ... • Clean way to use mutable implementation of Immutable interfaces for encapsulation

    - by dsollen
My code is working on some compost relationship which creates a tree structure, class A has many children of type B, which has many children of type C etc. The lowest level class, call it bar, also points to a connected bar class. This effectively makes nearly every object in my domain inter-connected. Immutable objects would be problematic due to the expense of rebuilding almost all of my domain to make a single change to one class. I chose to go with an interface approach. Every object has an Immutable interface which only publishes the getter methods. I have controller objects which constructs the domain objects and thus has reference to the full objects, thus capable of calling the setter methods; but only ever publishes the immutable interface. Any change requested will go through the controller. So something like this: public interface ImmutableFoo{ public Bar getBar(); public Location getLocation(); } public class Foo implements ImmutableFoo{ private Bar bar; private Location location; @Override public Bar getBar(){ return Bar; } public void setBar(Bar bar){ this.bar=bar; } @Override public Location getLocation(){ return Location; } } public class Controller{ Private Map<Location, Foo> fooMap; public ImmutableFoo addBar(Bar bar){ Foo foo=fooMap.get(bar.getLocation()); if(foo!=null) foo.addBar(bar); return foo; } } I felt the basic approach seems sensible, however, when I speak to others they always seem to have trouble envisioning what I'm describing, which leaves me concerned that I may have a larger design issue then I'm aware of. Is it problematic to have domain objects so tightly coupled, or to use the quasi-mutable approach to modifying them? Assuming that the design approach itself isn't inherently flawed the particular discussion which left me wondering about my approach had to do with the presence of business logic in the domain objects. Currently I have my setter methods in the mutable objects do error checking and all other logic required to verify and make a change to the object. It was suggested that this should be pulled out into a service class, which applies all the business logic, to simplify my domain objects. I understand the advantage in mocking/testing and general separation of logic into two classes. However, with a service method/object It seems I loose some of the advantage of polymorphism, I can't override a base class to add in new error checking or business logic. It seems, if my polymorphic classes were complicated enough, I would end up with a service method that has to check a dozen flags to decide what error checking and business logic applies. So, for example, if I wanted to have a childFoo which also had a size field which should be compared to bar before adding par my current approach would look something like this. public class Foo implements ImmutableFoo{ public void addBar(Bar bar){ if(!getLocation().equals(bar.getLocation()) throw new LocationException(); this.bar=bar; } } public interface ImmutableChildFoo extends ImmutableFoo{ public int getSize(); } public ChildFoo extends Foo implements ImmutableChildFoo{ private int size; @Override public int getSize(){ return size; } @Override public void addBar(Bar bar){ if(getSize()<bar.getSize()){ throw new LocationException(); super.addBar(bar); } My colleague was suggesting instead having a service object that looks something like this (over simplified, the 'service' object would likely be more complex). public interface ImmutableFoo{ ///original interface, presumably used in other methods public Location getLocation(); public boolean isChildFoo(); } public interface ImmutableSizedFoo implements ImmutableFoo{ public int getSize(); } public class Foo implements ImmutableSizedFoo{ public Bar bar; @Override public void addBar(Bar bar){ this.bar=bar; } @Override public int getSize(){ //default size if no size is known return 0; } @Override public boolean isChildFoo return false; } } public ChildFoo extends Foo{ private int size; @Override public int getSize(){ return size; } @Override public boolean isChildFoo(); return true; } } public class Controller{ Private Map<Location, Foo> fooMap; public ImmutableSizedFoo addBar(Bar bar){ Foo foo=fooMap.get(bar.getLocation()); service.addBarToFoo(foo, bar); returned foo; } public class Service{ public static void addBarToFoo(Foo foo, Bar bar){ if(foo==null) return; if(!foo.getLocation().equals(bar.getLocation())) throw new LocationException(); if(foo.isChildFoo() && foo.getSize()<bar.getSize()) throw new LocationException(); foo.setBar(bar); } } } Is the recommended approach of using services and inversion of control inherently superior, or superior in certain cases, to overriding methods directly? If so is there a good way to go with the service approach while not loosing the power of polymorphism to override some of the behavior?

  • T-SQL Tuesday #14: Resolutions

    - by AaronBertrand
This month, T-SQL Tuesday is being hosted by freshly minted MVP Jen McCown ( blog | twitter ), and her topic is " Resolutions! " I already gave a rough sort of overview on my goals for 2011 , but I thought I would be able to dig a little deeper with enough relevance to participate. So with that in mind, and with a goal of not setting the bar too high, here are a few of the resolutions I hope to achieve in 2011: To become better at PowerShell Not just because all the cool kids are doing it, but because...(read more)

How are you leveraging historical data to forecast projects? There’s a lot going on in government today. The economic pressures agencies feel from the uncertainty of budget cuts and sequestration effect every part of an organization, including the Project Management Office (PMO).  The PMO is responsible for monitoring and administering government IT projects. As time goes on, priorities shift, technology advances, and new regulations are imposed, all of which make planning and executing projects more difficult.  For example, think about your own projects.  How many boxes do you need to check and hoops do you need to jump through to ensure you comply with new regulations? While new regulations and technology advancements can be a good thing, they add an additional layer of complexity to already complex projects. To overcome some of these pressures, particularly new regulations, many in the PMO world are adopting a new approach- Project Intelligence (PI). According to a new Oracle Primavera white paper, The Rise of Project Intelligence: When Project Management is Just Not Enough, “PI uses Business Intelligence methods to leverage historical project data to make more informed decisions and greatly enhance project execution.” Currently, project managers plan and forecast the possible phases in an execution cycle.  However, most project managers don’t have the proper tools to do this as effectively as they would like. As the white paper noted, “The underlying deficiencies in most forecasting approaches are that 1) the PM fails in most instances to leverage historical data and 2) the PM doesn’t employ current Business Intelligence tools.” PI seeks to overturn this by combining modeling tools used in Business Intelligence for projects with the understanding of Emotional Intelligence for managing people.   Simply put, Project Intelligence is built off four main pillars: Actively use historical data to forecast project cycles Understand the intricacies of complex projects Enhance social and emotional intelligence in projects Actively use Business intelligence tools Read our complimentary whitepaper and discover the importance of emotional intelligence and best practices for improving projects, specifically in terms of communication.

  • Creating a really public Windows network share

    - by Timur Aydin
I want to create a shared folder under Windows (actually, Windows XP, Vista, and Win 7) which can be mounted from a linux system without prompting for a username/password. But before attempting this, I first wanted to establish that this works between two Windows 7 machines. So, on machine A (The server that will hold the public share), I created a folder and set its permissions such that Everyone has read/write access. Then I visited Control Panel - Network and Sharing Center - Advanced Sharing Settings and then selected "Turn off password protected sharing". Then, on machine B (The client that wants to access the public share with no username/password prompt), I tried to "map network driver" and I was immediately prompted by a password prompt. Some search on google suggested changing "Acconts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to console logon only" to "Disabled". Tried that, no luck, still getting username/password prompt. If I enter the username/password, I am not prompted for it again and can use the share as long as the session is active. But still, I really need to access the share without any username/password transaction whatsoever and this is not just a convenience related thing. Here is the actual reason: The device that will access this windows network share is an embedded system running uclinux. It will mount this share locally and then play media files. Its only user interface is a javascript based web page. So, if there is going to be any username/password transaction, I would have to ask the user to enter them over the web page, which will be ridiculously insecure and completely exposed to packet sniffing. After hours of doing experiments, I have found one way to make this happen, but I am not really very fond of it... I first create a new user (shareuser) and give it a password (sharepass). Then I open Group Policy Editor and set "Deny log on locally" to "A\shareuser". Then, I create a folder on A and share it so that shareuser has Read access to it. This way, shareuser cannot login to A, but can access the shared folder. And, if someone discovers the shareuser/sharepass through network sniffing, they can just access the shared folder, but can't logon to A. The same thing can be achieved by enabling the Guest user and then going to Group Policy Editor and deleting the "Guest" from the "Deny access to this computer from the network" setting. Again, Guest can mount the public share, but logging in to A as Guest won't be possible, because Guest is already not allowed to log in by default. So my question would be, how can I create a network share that is truly public, so that it can be mounted from a linux machine without requiring a password? Sorry for the long question, but I wanted to explain the reason for really needing this...

  • Local or public NTP servers?

    - by BeeOnRope
For a relatively large network (thousands of hosts) - what are the arguments for and against running a locally managed (pool of) NTP server(s) (perhaps periodically set via some public NTP server) and having all other hosts on the network use that (pool of) NTP server(s) versus having all hosts simply use public NTP servers directly, say via ntp.pool.org? Aside from the pros and cons, What is typical best practice today?

  • Two-Hop SSH connection with two separate public keys

    - by yigit
We have the following ssh hop setup: localhost -> hub -> server hubuser@hub accepts the public key for localuser@localhost. serveruser@server accepts the public key for hubuser@hub. So we are issuing ssh -t hubuser@hub ssh serveruser@server for connecting to server. The problem with this setup is we can not scp directly to the server. • Laravel - public layout not needed in every function

    - by fischer
I have just recently started working with Laravel. Great framework so far! However I have a question. I am using a layout template like this: public $layout = 'layouts.private'; This is set in my Base_Controller: public function __construct(){ //Styles Asset::add('reset', 'css/reset.css'); Asset::add('main', 'css/main.css'); //Scripts Asset::add('jQuery', 'http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.8.1/jquery.min.js'); //Switch layout template according to the users auth credentials. if (Auth::check()) { $this -> layout = 'layouts.private'; } else { $this -> layout = 'layouts.public'; } parent::__construct(); } However I get an error exception now when I try to access functions in my diffrent controllers, which should not call any view, i.e. when a user is going to login: class Login_Controller extends Base_Controller { public $restful = true; public function post_index() { $user = new User(); $credentials = array('username' => Input::get('email'), 'password' => Input::get('password')); if (Auth::attempt($credentials)) { } else { } } } The error I get, is that I do not set the content of the different variables in my public $layout. But since no view is needed in this function, how do I tell Laravel not to include the layout in this function? The best solution that I my self have come a cross (don't know if this is a bad way?) is to unset($this -> layout); from function post_index()... To sum up my question: how do I tell Laravel not to include public $layout in certain functions, where a view is not needed? Thanks in advance, fischer

  • Placing Select Folders Under Version Control

    - by Jonah
Hi, I have an SVN repository on my hosted server (linux), and I need to do local work on them on my windows machine (tortoise svn installed). To simplify my question, the dir structure looks like: root |--------sub1 |--------sub2 |--------sub3 ... |--------subN with additional subfolders under each subX. Say I only want certain sub-subfolders of "sub1" and "sub3" under version control. But on windows, when I commit a change with tortoisesvn, I still want to be able to right click the root folder, hit commit, and have any changes that exist anywhere under root in any selected folders to be committed. The problem is, I think using ignore would be very cumbersome, since there would be so many folders to ignore, at different levels of structure. So basically, I want to put the whole thing under version control, and then tell svn "ok, now ignore everything except X and Y". What is the easiest way to accomplish this? Thanks, Jonah

  • In terminal, merging multiple folders into one.

    - by Josh Pinter
I have a backup directory created by WDBackup (western digital external HD backup util) that contains a directory for each day that it backed up and the incremental contents of just what was backed up. So the hierarchy looks like this: 20100101 My Documents Letter1.doc My Music Best Songs Every First Songs.mp3 My song.mp3 # modified 20100101 20100102 My Documents Important Docs Taxes.doc My Music My Song.mp3 # modified 20100102 ...etc... Only what has changed is backed up and the first backup that was ever made contains all the files selected for backup. What I'm trying to do now is incrementally copy, while keeping the folder structure, from oldest to newest, each of these dated folders into a 'merged' folder so that it overrides the older content and keeps the new stuff. As an example, if just using these two example folders, the final merged folder would look like this: Merged My Documents Important Docs Taxes.doc Letter1.doc My Music Best Songs Every First Songs.mp3 My Song.mp3 # modified 20100102 Hope that makes sense. Thanks, Josh

  • Is it possible to nest folders in the Flash Builder bin-debug

    - by ThunderChunky_SF
I'm trying to setup my bin-debug folder so that the structure looks like this: bin-debug assets img swf main.swf css style.css js swfobject.js index.html I've tried setting the project's output folder to: bin-debug/assets/swf which does get my main.swf where I want it, but then my other source folders get dumped into that swf folder as well. What I would really like is to tell Flash Builder to put my swf into a nested folder and to be able to specify where my build folders' output goes as well. Is this at all possible without resorting to ANT scripts?

  • Finding files with bash and copy to another location and reducing depth of folders

    - by Kevin F
I'm trying to recover a mates hard drive, there is no structure what so ever so music and images are everywhere but in named folders sometimes 5 folders deep, I've managed to write a one-liner that finds the files and copies them to a mounted drive but it preserves the file structure completely. What I'm after is a bit of code that searches the drive and copies to another location and copies just the parent folder with the mp3/jpg files within and not the complete path. The other issue I have is the music is /folder/folder/folder/Artist/1.mp3..2.mp3..10.mp3 etc etc so I have to preserve the folder 'Artist' to give him any hope of finding his tracks again. What I have working currently: find /media/HP/ -name *.mp3 -fprintf /media/HP/MUSIC/Script.sh 'mkdir -p "/media/HP/MUSIC/%h" \n cp "%h/%f" "/media/HP/MUSIC/%h/"\n' I then run the script.sh and it does all the copying. Many Thanks

  • Sharing folders with VirtualBox, Win7 Host and Ubuntu 9.10 Guest [closed]

    - by user225890
I have a development setup from this tutorial: http://www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2009/10/27/build-your-own-dev-server-with-virtualbox/ But what I can't figure out is how to share a folder on my Ubuntu virtualized machine with the host Win7. I want to use a Windows text editor to edit code that's on my Ubuntu server. I've tried using the Shared Folders setting, adding "/var/www" but it says that the path is not absolute. When I click on "other", it only allows me to browse folders on my Win7 host. Both the host and guest are 64-bit OS. Thanks in advance!

  • SSH copying folders

    - by Michael
I have a folder on my server that I'd like to copy to another directory. However, after I copy it and navigate to the new folder, some of the directories are RED and I can't navigate into them. I think this has something to do with them creating links instead of actually copying the folders. cp -a site2.com/httpdocs site1.com/httpdocs But then some of the sub folders from site2.com/httpdocs are setup as invalid links into site1.com/httpdocs and I cannot navigate to them nor can the webserver display them. Additionally, I have a permissions error where the copied files have their user set to site2.com but even after CHOWN I cannot get site1.com to display them.

  • More SharePoint 2010 Expression Builders

    - by Ricardo Peres
Introduction Following my last post, I decided to publish the whole set of expression builders that I use with SharePoint. For all who don’t know about expression builders, they allow us to employ a declarative approach, so that we don’t have to write code for “gluing” things together, like getting a value from the query string, the page’s underlying SPListItem or the current SPContext and assigning it to a control’s property. These expression builders are for some quite common scenarios, I use them quite often, and I hope you find them useful as well. SPContextExpression This expression builder allows us to specify an expression to be processed on the SPContext.Current property object. For example: 1: <asp:Literal runat="server" Text=“<%$ SPContextExpression:Site.RootWeb.Lists[0].Author.LoginName %>”/> It is identical to having the following code: 1: String authorName = SPContext.Current.Site.RootWeb.Lists[0].Author.LoginName; SPFarmProperty Returns a property stored on the farm level: 1: <asp:Literal runat="server" Text="<%$ SPFarmProperty:SomeProperty %>"/> Identical to: 1: Object someProperty = SPFarm.Local.Properties["SomeProperty"]; SPField Returns the value of a selected page’s list item field: 1: <asp:Literal runat="server" Text="<%$ SPField:Title %>"/> Does the same as: 1: String title = SPContext.Current.ListItem["Title"] as String; SPIsInAudience Checks if the current user belongs to an audience: 1: <asp:CheckBox runat="server" Checked="<%$ SPIsInAudience:SomeAudience %>"/> Equivalent to: 1: AudienceManager audienceManager = new AudienceManager(SPServiceContext.Current); 2: Audience audience = audienceManager.Audiences["SomeAudience"]; 3: Boolean isMember = audience.IsMember(SPContext.Current.Web.User.LoginName); SPIsInGroup Checks if the current user belongs to a group: 1: <asp:CheckBox runat="server" Checked="<%$ SPIsInGroup:SomeGroup %>"/> The equivalent C# code is: 1: SPContext.Current.Web.CurrentUser.Groups.OfType<SPGroup>().Any(x => String.Equals(x.Name, “SomeGroup”, StringComparison.OrdinalIgnoreCase)); SPProperty Returns the value of a user profile property for the current user: 1: <asp:Literal runat="server" Text="<%$ SPProperty:LastName %>"/> Where the same code in C# would be: 1: UserProfileManager upm = new UserProfileManager(SPServiceContext.Current); 2: UserProfile u = upm.GetUserProfile(false); 3: Object property = u["LastName"].Value; SPQueryString Returns a value passed on the query string: 1: <asp:GridView runat="server" PageIndex="<%$ SPQueryString:PageIndex %>" /> Is equivalent to (no SharePoint code this time): 1: Int32 pageIndex = Convert.ChangeType(typeof(Int32), HttpContext.Current.Request.QueryString["PageIndex"]); SPWebProperty Returns the value of a property stored at the site level: 1: <asp:Literal runat="server" Text="<%$ SPWebProperty:__ImagesListId %>"/> You can get the same result as: 1: String imagesListId = SPContext.Current.Web.AllProperties["__ImagesListId"] as String; Code OK, let’s move to the code. First, a common abstract base class, mainly for inheriting the conversion method: 1: public abstract class SPBaseExpressionBuilder : ExpressionBuilder 2: { 3: #region Protected static methods 4: protected static Object Convert(Object value, PropertyInfo propertyInfo) 5: { 6: if (value != null) 7: { 8: if (propertyInfo.PropertyType.IsAssignableFrom(value.GetType()) == false) 9: { 10: if (propertyInfo.PropertyType.IsEnum == true) 11: { 12: value = Enum.Parse(propertyInfo.PropertyType, value.ToString(), true); • Virtual Machine Network Architecture, Isolating Public and Private Networks

    - by Mark
I'm looking for some insight into best practices for network traffic isolation within a virtual environment, specifically under VMWARE ESXi. Currently I have (in testing) 1 hardware server running ESXi but i expect to expand this to multiple pieces of hardware. The current setup is as follows: 1 pfsense VM, this VM accepts all outside (WAN/internet) traffic and performs firewall/port forwarding/NAT functionality. I have multiple public IP addresses sent to the this VM that are used for access to individual servers (via per incoming IP port forwarding rules). This VM is attached to the private (virtual) network that all other VMs are on. It also manages a VPN link into the private network with some access restrictions. This isn't the perimeter firewall but rather the firewall for this virtual pool only. I have 3 VMs that communicate with each other, as well as have some public access requirements: 1 LAMP server running an eCommerce site, public internet accessible 1 accounting server, access via windows server 2008 RDS services for remote access by users 1 inventory/warehouse management server, VPN to client terminals in warehouses These servers constantly talk with each other for data synchronization. Currently all the servers are on the same subnet/virtual network and connected to the internet through the pfsense VM. The pfsense firewall uses port forwarding and NAT to allow outside access to the servers for services and for server access to the internet. My main question is this: Is there a security benefit to adding a second virtual network adapter to each server and controlling traffic such that all server to server communication is on one separate virtual network, while any access to the outside world is routed through the other network adapter, through the firewall, and on the the internet. This is the type of architecture i would use if these were all physical servers, but i'm unsure if the networks being virtual changes the way i should approach locking down this system. Thank you for any thoughts or direction to any appropriate literature.

  • SSH into remote server using Public-private keys

    - by maria
Hi, I have recently setup ssh on two linux machines (lets call them server-a, client-b). I have generated two ssh auth files on client-b machine using ssh key gen and can see both public and private files in .ssh dir. I have named them 'example' and 'example.pub'. Then I have added example.pub to sever-a's auth file. When I try to ssh into server-a it still requests a password authentication where as I want a password less login (private key on client-b is setup without password). When I try to ssh with '-v' .. get the following output: debug1: Next authentication method: publickey debug1: Trying private key: /Users/abc/.ssh/identity debug1: Offering public key: /Users/abc/.ssh/id_rsa debug2: we sent a publickey packet, wait for reply debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey,keyboard-interactive debug1: Offering public key: /Users/abc/.ssh/id_dsa debug2: we sent a publickey packet, wait for reply debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey,keyboard-interactive debug2: we did not send a packet, disable method debug1: Next authentication method: keyboard-interactive debug2: userauth_kbdint debug2: we sent a keyboard-interactive packet, wait for reply debug2: input_userauth_info_req debug2: input_userauth_info_req: num_prompts 1 Password: Please help.

  • Switch Before Firewall / Router - Multiple public IPs

    - by rii
I currently Have a 10Mbit Full duplex circuit connected to a small unmanaged switch which then connects to a Sonicwall Firewall / Router. I have several public IP addresses (/28) that are assigned to several devices in my setup. Now the problem is the small switch I have was lent to me and needs to be returned, I have replaced this switch with several other switches but for some reason any other switch I use causes the network to become extremely slow. I believe this is a problem with the autonegotiation of theses hubs, so I am thinking of purchasing a small managed switch (cisco 300 series) and making the receiving port on the swith Explicitly 10Mbit Full Duplex and see if this works. My question is, being that this is a managed switch and needs an IP, will I still be able to run my public ips through it? Say the circuit has 70.80.4.1 - 7 will I still be able to assign 70.80.4.2 to my firewall and 70.80.4.3 to my router connected to some other port in the switch? Will I have to assign the switch a public IP address in this range as well for it to "route" to those other devices or does the switch does not care what IPs goes through it while operating as a Layer 2 Switch? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced!
