Not finding what I want in that file, I'd like to use something like ack or grep to search for it within the local directory. I know I can do :! ack whatever to do the search from within vim, but what I'd like to know is is there a way to replace whatever with the currently searched for word within vim.

  • What's the "proper" way to retrieve a reference to a ribbon object?

    For a VSTO workbook project, is there a best practice for retrieving a reference to the Ribbon object from the ThisWorkbook class? Here's what I'm doing: In my Ribbon class, I created a public method called InvalidateControl(string controlID). I need to call that method from the ThisWorkbook class based on when a certain workbook level event fires. But the only way I can see to "get" a reference to that Ribbon object is to do this... // This is all in the ThisWorkbook class Ribbon ribbon; protected override IRibbonExtensibility CreateRibbonExtensibilityObject() { this.ribbon = new Ribbon(); return this.ribbon; } ...which seems a little smelly. I mean, I have to override CreateRibbonExtensibilityObject() regardless; all I'm doing beyond that is maintaining a local reference to the ribbon so I can call methods against it. But it doesn't feel right. Is there another, better way to get that reference in the ThisWorkbook class? Or is this pretty acceptable? Thanks!

  • Can I retrieve objects from a complex query that limits results to fields from a single table?

    I have a model whose rows I always want to sort based on the values in another associated model and I was thinking that the way to implement this would be to use set_dataset in the model. This is causing query results to be returned as hashes rather than objects, though, so none of the methods from the class can be used when iterating over the dataset. I basically have two classes class SortFields < Sequel::Model(:sort_fields) set_primary_key :objectid end class Items < Sequel::Model(:items) set_primary_key :objectid one_to_one :sort_fields, :class => SortFields, :key => :objectid end Some backstory: the data is imported from a legacy system into mysql. The values in sort_fields are calculated from multiple other associated tables (some one-to-many, some many-to-many) according to some complicated rules. The likely solution will be to just add the values in sort_fields to items (I want to keep the imported data separate from the calculated data, but I don't have to). First, though, I just want to understand how far you can go with a dataset and still get objects rather than hashes. If I set the dataset to sort on a field in items like so class Items < Sequel::Model(:items) set_primary_key :objectid one_to_one :sort_fields, :class => SortFields, :key => :objectid set_dataset(order(:sortnumber)) end then the expected clause is added to the generated SQL, e.g.: >> Items.limit(1).sql => "SELECT * FROM `items` ORDER BY `sortnumber` LIMIT 1" and queries still return objects: >> Items.limit(1).first.class => Items If I order it by the associated fields though... class Items < Sequel::Model(:items) set_primary_key :objectid one_to_one :sort_fields, :class => SortFields, :key => :objectid set_dataset( eager_graph(:sort_fields). order(:sort1, :sort2, :sort3) ) end ...I get hashes ?> Items.limit(1).first.class => Hash My first thought was that this happens because all fields from sort_fields are included in the results and maybe if selected only the fields from items I would get Items objects again: class Items < Sequel::Model(:items) set_primary_key :objectid one_to_one :sort_fields, :class => SortFields, :key => :objectid set_dataset( eager_graph(:sort_fields). select(:items.*). order(:sort1, :sort2, :sort3) ) end The generated SQL is what I would expect: >> Items.limit(1).sql => "SELECT `items`.* FROM `items` LEFT OUTER JOIN `sort_fields` ON (`sort_fields`.`objectid` = `items`.`objectid`) ORDER BY `sort1`, `sort2`, `sort3` LIMIT 1" It returns the same rows as the set_dataset(order(:sortnumber)) version but it still doesn't work: >> Items.limit(1).first.class => Hash Before I add the sort fields to the items table so that they can all live happily in the same model, is there a way to tell Sequel to return on object when it wants to return a hash?

The question is how to add a new row without knowing next primary Id, or maybe there is a way to get this Id from the table with the help of another query ?

  • Specify sorting order for a GROUP BY query to retrieve oldest or newest record for each group

    I need to get the most recent record for each device from an upgrade request log table. A device is unique based on a combination of its hardware ID and its MAC address. I have been attempting to do this with GROUP BY but I am not convinced this is safe since it looks like it may be simply returning the "top record" (whatever SQLite or MySQL thinks that is). I had hoped that this "top record" could be hinted at by way of ORDER BY but that does not seem to be having any impact as both of the following queries returns the same records for each device, just in opposite order: SELECT extHwId, mac, created FROM upgradeRequest GROUP BY extHwId, mac ORDER BY created DESC SELECT extHwId, mac, created FROM upgradeRequest GROUP BY extHwId, mac ORDER BY created ASC Is there another way to accomplish this? I've seen several somewhat related posts that have all involved sub selects. If possible, I would like to do this without subselects as I would like to learn how to do this without that.

  • How can I retrieve cookies for webserver A when my project is deployed on webserver B?

    The project is multiple modules, each of them is deployed to a separate webserver. All of them on the same mainframe. (same IP address) I have a main menu where I login and then list all the available modules on all servers. From here I can click and go to any of them modules. I send cookies in the response (when logging in, say Server A), then on Server B (one of the modules) when I want to go back to the main menu, I check the cookies to see if the user is logged in. The problem is, Server B isn't seeing cookies generated by Server A. So each time I return to main menu, the user will be logged out. Is there anyway to store cookies to be used by multiple virtual webservers (on same IP) or any other idea?

I assume that users will need to add words that they want to memorise to a Favourite list. Thus, I created a Favorite button that works on two phases: short-click to save the currently-view word into the Favourite list; and long-click to view the Favourite list so that users can click on any words to look them up again. I go for using a SQlite database to store the favourite words but I wonder how I can do this task. Specifically, my questions are: Should I use the current dictionary SQLite database or create a new SQLite database to favorite words? In each case, what codes do I have to write to cope with the mentioned task? Could anyone there kindly help?     Currently all of my script's settings are located in a PHP file which I 'include'. I'm in the process of moving these settings (about 100) to a database table called 'settings'. However I'm struggling to find an efficient way of retrieving all of them into the file. The settings table has 3 columns: ID (autoincrements) name value Two example rows might be: 1 admin_user john 2 admin_email_address [email protected] The only way I can think of retrieving each setting is like this: $result = mysql_query("SELECT value FROM settings WHERE name = 'admin_user'"); $row = mysql_fetch_array($result); $admin_user = $row['value']; $result = mysql_query("SELECT value FROM settings WHERE name = 'admin_email_address'"); $row = mysql_fetch_array($result); $admin_email_address = $row['value']; etc etc Doing it this way will take up a lot of code and will likely be slow.     Example CSS File: .testClass { color: black; background: red; } Now in an HTML file, I would like to have something like <span class="testClass:color">Text in black but without red background</span> to only apply the color property of that class. Is there a way to do this? The purpose behind it (for people asking themselves "Why the hell would he want that, that's not clean CSS usage!") is that I use jQuery UI themes, and I would like the entire page to fit a theme upon change. As not all kinds of elements (e.g. the color of a link) are covered by those themes, in those cases I would like to "steal" the color property (but not more) of some other CSS class of the jQuery UI theme. If there is another way to do this, of course I'm glad to hear it as well!
