  • How do I make this scroll layout work?

    I am currently trying to get my UI to have a Title Bar, a bottom Button bar, with a ScrollView in between. I can get bits and pieces of it to work, but once I get a different piece working, the old part goes back to not showing up. Here is a picture of my UI on the left, with what I want it to look like on the right...(sorry for the sloppiness, I edited it in MS Paint :P ) To sum it up, I want the Version and Type fields to be moved with room for the other TextViews in the XML file, and I want both buttons to appear on the bottom bar.   • javascript table sorting/paging (client-side). How big is too big?

    I'm using a jQuery plugin called Tablesorter to do client-side sorting of a log table in one of my applications. I am also making use of the tablepager add-in. I really like the responsiveness that client-side sorting and paging brings to the party. I also like how you don't have to hit the web server or database repeatedly. However I can see that, in time, the log I'm displaying could grow quite large. I'm sure there comes a point where client-side paging and sorting is going to be impractical. What point will this technique begin to collapse under it's own weight? 500 records? 2000 records? 10,000 records? EDIT: In nutshell, what criteria would you use to determine if you are going to use client-side sorting/paging as opposed to server-side paging? Does the size of expected result set factor into your decision? Where is the tipping point?

I would like to allow a user to click on a JList and if words are typed, do a query and advance the caret to the next match (prefix). Is there and example of such an implementation in Java somewhere? I'm thinking a combination of key listeners, getNextMatch() and setSelectValue().

    I have a textview displaying many individual words, each word is a link using Spans and setMovementMethod(LinkMovementMethod.getInstance()); The textview is wrapped by a ScrollView. However the ScrollView does not work as the links in the TextView are activated instead. Is there a way to combine a ScrollView and TextView so that both the scrolling and links in the text work?

  • CSS Width Greater then Page Width without Horizontal Scroll (overflow:hidden not an option)

    I've got a basic layout going in 960.gs. One line of text is absolutely positioned, starting within an inner DIV and exiting only the right side of the page. Here's a screenshot: The issue is that as the text appears as a series of unbroken words, if the width of the text box doesn't extend beyond the end of the page, it breaks some distance from the edge. overflow: hidden; doesn't do the trick because I need to set the width wider than the page. float won't work because the text can't escape the width of the inner DIV. I can't set it outside the inner DIV and just position it there as the same problem will still exist. The code is basically as simple as: <wrapper (containing) DIV> <text stripe DIV> <p></p> </text stripe DIV> </ wrapper DIV> I know I've done something like this before and I can't for the life of me remember what I ended up doing.     Hi all, Data is stored in the database table with the field document type and document id. And displayed in the scrollwindow, scrollwindow is editable. Data displayed like this: In scrollwindow dropdown items are quote, order, invoice etc. And suppose for Quote type document id is QTE100, and for order is ORD100 etc. In this format data is displayed in the scrollwindow. Here my query is at run time when user change the document type say for Quote to Order warning message should display like “This range is not valid”. And since the scrollwindow editable when user select any new document type from dropdown list system should allow to add that new document type and should not display any message. Pls somebody help me how can I achieve this???pls………pls…......pls For this I have written this code in dropdown document change event. Document Type Site_Scroll Document Type_CHG: warning "The range entered isn't valid."; clear window 'Document Type Site_Scroll'; fill window 'Document Type Site_Scroll' table sop_site_line_temp; But whenever I am changing any document from existing one getting the warning message like “This range is not valid” this is expected, but after changing when the window is filled again by temp table focus is setting to document type dropdown list. One more thing whenever I am going to select any new document type from document type I am getting the same warning message which is not expected, system should allow user to select new document type without giving any warning message. Pls….somebody give me some idea or pls modify my code….

  • How to scroll table view with toolbar at the top of the view

    Hello, I have a view with a toolbar at the top and a table view with text fields in it's cells. When I want to edit the text fields placed in the bottom of the table view the keyboard is hiding the text field being edited (as the table view is not scrolled up). I tried to implement http://cocoawithlove.com/2008/10/sliding-uitextfields-around-to-avoid.html but this makes my whole view move up (the toolbar and the table view) while I would like to have the toobar at the top of the view for the whole time.   • Handle window scroll event in greasemonkey script

    Hi. I need some advice. I have a web page and want to extend it's functionality with greasemonkey script and firefox. When page has loaded I need run custom function during user's page scrolling (with mouse whell or scrollbar). I want show some div block when user scrolling down and hide it when he scrolling to the top. But I met some problem - I couldn't assign event handler to the onscroll event. I use next part of the code: function showFixedBlock(){ ... } function onScrollStart(){ ... showFixedBlock(); ... } window.onscroll = onScrollStart; I test this piece of code on my test html page and it works, but when I copy it into greasemonkey, script doesn't work. Should I assign onscroll event handler during page loading? As I know greasemonkey execute it's scripts when page has loaded? Is it the reason of the problem? Is there some additional requirments to handle 'onscroll' event? How can I do that? Thanks.

    Is there any way to capture the time interval between mouse wheel scroll start and stop? Actually I want to capture the interval between the scrolling start and stop when I very quickly scroll the mouse wheel. I have already looked at MouseWheel event but it don't fulfill my requirement. In senes that it always gives a value of Delta 120 or -120 but i want to call a function depending on the speed of the mouse scroll for example when i scroll the mouse normally i want to perform function 1 and when i scrolled the mouse very quickly i want to perform the function 2. In other words is there any way to distinguish between the mouse scroll high and normal speed. Any advice will be appreciated.

    How can I get an iframe such that when it loads up, it loads up with the page inside scrolled down by a fixed amount (say 100px)? I have so far: <iframe src="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7459669.stm" scrolling="no" width=500px height=500px></iframe> but it loads up with the bbc.co.uk page inside at the top left when I actually want it to load up scrolled part way down (that is the page inside the iframe scrolled down, not the page containing the iframe). Anyone know how to do this?

    I’m new (only two weeks old) in Jquery, so please bear with me. I know that a very similar question was asked some time ago but I do not know how to adapt the answer to my problem. I have a very wide multicolumn layout something like this: | aaaa | bbbb | cccc | … | | aaaa | b | cc | … | | aaa | cccc | ddd | … | The code looks like: <div id="container"> <p>aaaaaaaaaaa</p> <p>bbbbb</p> <p>ccccccccccc</p> <p>dddddddddd</p> ... <p>xxxxxx</p> </div> There is no vertical scrolling and the container width is set in such a way that only two columns are shown. The user scrolls left or right to see the relevant text. What I want is to get the position currently on display, store it (maybe in a cookie) and retrieve it the next time the user opens the page. I think that I need a way of finding out what paragraph is currently the left-top most, but other suggestions are very welcome. Any ideas? btw: this is an internal project, so Mozilla only :-) Thanks Lolo

  • Commited memory goes to physical RAM or reserves space in the paging file?

    When I do VirtualAlloc with MEM_COMMIT this "Allocates physical storage in memory or in the paging file on disk for the specified reserved memory pages" (quote from MSDN article http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa366887%28VS.85%29.aspx). All is fine up until now BUT: the description of Commited Bytes Counter says that "Committed memory is the physical memory which has space reserved on the disk paging file(s)." I also read "Windows via C/C++ 5th edition" and this book says that commiting memory means reserving space in the page file.... The last two cases don't make sense to me... If you commit memory, doesn't that mean that you commit to physical storage (RAM)? The page file being there for swaping out currently unused pages of memory in case memory gets low. The book says that when you commit memory you actually reserve space in the paging file. If this were true than that would mean that for a committed page there is space reserved in the paging file and a page frame in physical in memory... So twice as much space is needed ?! Isn't the page file's purpose to make the total physical memory larger than it actually is? If I have a 1G of RAM with a 1G page file = 2G of usable "physical memory"(the book also states this but right after that it says what I discribed at point 2). What am I missing? Thanks.

In IE8 the scrollbar appears but doesn't work, and I don't have any other way to move down.
