    I am looking for a best practice while uploading images to amazon s3 server and serving from there. We need four different sizes of an image. So just after image upload we convert the image and scale in 4 different widths and heights. Instead of sending images immediately to S3, it may be better to add them to a job queue. But the user should see the uploaded image immediately.

  • How to refresh xmlDataProvider when xml document changes at runtime in WPF?

    I am trying to make a image viewer/album creator in visual studio, wpf. The image paths for each album is stored in an xml document which i bind to to show the images from each album in a listbox. The problem is when i add a image or an album at runtime and write it to the xml document. I can't seem to make the bindings to the xml document update so they show the new images and albums aswell. Calling Refresh() on the XmlDataProvider doesn't change anything. I don't wish to redo the binding of the XmlDataProvider, just make it read from the same source again.     I am trying to use Bluetooth in WP8 to send an image from my app on a device and show it in my app on another device. The receiver has a StreamSocket object to read the data from it like the code below await _dataReader.LoadAsync(4); uint messageLen = (uint)_dataReader.ReadInt32(); await _dataReader.LoadAsync(messageLen); string imageData _dataReader.ReadString(messageLen); Then I have to save all the received data (image) on the device and then create a Stream object from the stored data to give it to the BitmapSource.SetSource(Stream) function to be able to show this image on my app. var image = new BitmapImage(); image.SetSource(stream); All I want to do is not to skip this double work and directly convert the StreamSocket object (from Bluetooth connection) to a Stream object and make the BitmapSource image. Is there any way to do this?

  • Display graph without saving using pydot

    Hello all I am trying to display a simple graph using pydot. My question is that is there any way to display the graph without writing it to a file as currently I use write function to first draw and then have to use the Image module to show the files. However is there any way that the graph directly gets printed on the screen without being saved ?? Also as an update I would like to ask in this same question that I observe that while the image gets saved very quickly when I use the show command of the Image module it takes noticeable time for the image to be seen .... Also sometimes I get the error that the image could'nt be opened because it was either deleted or saved in unavailable location which is not correct as I am saving it at my Desktop..... Does anyone know what's happening and is there a faster way to get the image loaded..... Thanks a lot....

    I have a few rows of images like so <div class="row"> <img src="image.jpg" alt=""> <img src="image.jpg" alt=""> <img src="image.jpg" alt=""> <img src="image.jpg" alt=""> <img src="image.jpg" alt=""> </div> Each image has a different width, and there is also a different number of images on each row (4-6). I want to space the images evenly in the row, the row has a fixed width of 960px. I could do this by calculating the total empty space for each row and then dividing it among the images for a margin, but I was hoping there was something simpler that I could apply to every row instead of having to calculate and code a separate one for each row.

    I have to run an image processing algorithm on numerous images in a directory. An image is saved as name_typeX.tif, so there are X different type of images for a given name. The image processing algorithm takes an input image and outputs an image result. I need to save this result as name_typeX_number.tif, where 'number' is also an output from the algorithm for a given image. Now.. How do I tell MATLAB to open a specific 'typeX' file? Also note that there are other non-tif files in the same directory. How to save the result as name_typeX_number.tif? The results have to be saved in the same directory where the input images are present. How do I tell MATLAB NOT to treat the results that have been saved as an input images? I have to run this as background code on a server... so no user inputs allowed Thanks

  • How to achieve Bottom Align floated div that sizes to it's container.

    How can I achieve the following layout? Specifically the positioning of Image and DIV I've found that unless I set a specific width for the Div, it will just go on to the next line and take up the full width of the container. Additionally aligning it relative to the bottom of the image is giving me trouble. Currently they're both float:left Edit: The two solutions so far work if the image is a constant width which I guess I could work with, but it's going in a Wordpress theme for an author's profile page and it's possible that images would have slightly variable widths. Is there a solution that would have the Div right next to the image (minus padding) regardless of how wide or narrow the image is? Basically having the div adjust its width to accommodate the image width.

  • Error when trying to deploy Windows XP SP3 with WDS

    I have created a WDS server running Windows Server 2008 R2. I have built my custom images of Windows 7 using WAIK and MDT 2010 that are installed on the server. I used this guide to help me through the process. The Windows 7 images that I have created capture and deploy properly. I am attempting to follow the same steps from the guide I linked to capture and deploy a Windows XP SP3 image. I am able to sysprep and capture the reference machine with no errors. I am then able to import the custom .wim that I just captured in to MDT 2010 with no issues either. However when I try to deploy this image to a test virtual machine I get the following error: Deployment Error: I have made sure that the .iso that I am importing the source files from originally to create the sysprep and capture sequence is indeed a Windows XP SP3 iso. When I first select a PE boot environment before I deploy I select the x86 PE boot image that I created originally when making this for my Windows 7 deployments. Could this be the issue? If so how do I make a boot image specific for Windows XP SP3 deployments? I have Googled around for this error and some places point to the deployment image not being able to find setup.exe and other important system files for installing the operating system. If so, how do I add these to the image? Any ideas?

  • htaccess rewriting all subdomains to subdirectories

    I'm trying to build a catch-all for any subdomains (not captured by previous rewrite rules) for a certain domain, and serve a website from a subdirectory that resides in the same folder as the .htaccess file. I already have my vhosts.conf to send all unmapped requests to a "playground" folder, where I want to easily create new subdomains by simply adding a subfolder. So, my structure looks like this: /var/www/playground |-> /foo |-> /bar The .htacces living inside the /playground folder and /foo and /bar being seperate websites. I want http://foo.domain.com to point to /foo and http://bar.domain.com to /bar. Here is my .htaccess file: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^([^.]+).domain.com$ [NC] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/%1/(.*) RewriteRule ^(.*) /%1/$1 [L] This is supposed to capture the subdomain, add it as a subfolder in RewriteRule, then append after the slash and path information. The second RewriteCond is there to prevent an infinite loop. My idea was that %1 in the second RewriteCond would be able to capture the capture group in the first RewriteCond. But so far I haven't had any success, it's always ending up in a redirect loop. If I would replace %1 in the second RewriteCond with hardcoded 'foo' or 'bar', it works, which leads me to believe that you cannot refer to a capture group inside a RewriteCond. Is is true? Or am I missing something?

  • JavaScript functions broke my page jumps?

    Hi everybody, I'm trying to develop a personal website and running into some issues. At the top of my page I had a horizontal table that contained 6 different images (buttons) that linked to different sections of the page. I wanted to spice up the buttons with JavaScript and make the image of the button change onMouseOver and onMouseOut so I found a way to do so online with some JavaScript but the problem now is that the buttons no longer jump to the appropriate section of the page when using Google Chrome or Safari, but in IE 9 they still do work correctly... Once again, the weirder thing is that this is only the case when I'm using Google Chrome on my laptop running Windows 7 or Safari using my iPhone 4 but when I use the new Internet Explorer 9 on my laptop running Windows 7 all the buttons still link correctly. Any idea what's breaking the links?

I was working in Vista and then I restarted booted up Ubuntu and when I finished in Ubuntu I restarted this time in Vista and all I get is the microsoft box with the vertical stripes running interminably.     Multiple 64-bit versions (Kubuntu, Lubuntu and Xubuntu) once installed on my ThinkPad R60 show 3GB of RAM, not the correct 4GB of RAM. Last week with 13.04, I had 4GB of RAM (which matches the BIOS) and this week I have 3GB available. Inquiring minds want to know.     At last year's UK Umbraco Festival we gave a demo of our alpha version of Allen for Umbraco, at that stage the application only worked on an iPhone and was a very quick prototype to see what people thought.When we returned to our office the next day, we decided if we were going to release Allen for Umbraco into the wild we really should start again from scratch, the main two reasons for this were;First to ensure it was a truly Universal application ( i.e. it can be installed on an iPhone, iPad or iPod ) which looks and behaves differently depending on the device. The second reason was we really wanted the application to be the foundations of more than just image uploading for Umbraco, for this to be the case we ensured the new version was built following proven design patterns and with lots of unit tests so that we can easily extended it.We have lots of plans for future versions of Allen for Umbraco including adding iCloud support to keep all your settings in sync across your multiple Apple devices. We are also working on support for Umbraco 5 which should be release soon.When you download the App and setup your site, make sure you have a look at the Image Resizing settings, by default we have set these to resize your images to 512 pixels wide, however you can choose from a variety of different resizing methods (by Height, Width, Fit within a frame or the full size image).Also, by default when you select a photo you will see that the image is named with it's date and time stamp of when the photograph was taken (or the current date and time if the original date is not stored in your image). If you click on this name you can edit the name of your photo before it is uploaded.Finally, we are really keep to get your feedback, so within the App help section you will find a way to submit Suggestions and if needed, you can send up Support emails from within the App :)We hope you enjoy the first version of Allen for Umbraco and we look forward to bringing you lots of exciting additional functionality in the future!

    How do I cache the images properly, I think asked this somewhere before, but it hasn't affected me until gameing site went out of beta. It's HTTP headers or something isn't Ok I used George's answer but frankly the performance is awful, asking the server for the image everytime (even when it doesn't download the image) creates a small delay of about 1/2 a second but because of the huge number of SE sites, the 1/2s add up. Please, please consider adding a hash of the image to the stackauth.com/sites
