  • Android: How to prevent image from being scaled in ImageView or ImageButton?

    - by user277827
Hi, How can I prevent my bitmap from being scaled automatically in an ImageView or ImageButton if the view or button is stretched using "fill_parent" or using "weight"? This will be useful, for example, to create a 4-button toolbar at the top of the screen where the buttons are equally spaced, but the images inside the buttons keep getting streched even if I use scaleType="center", which should prevent scaling according to the doc, but it doesn't. Any insight is appreciated! Thanks,

  • Why I am not able to display image using swing worker?

    - by Vimal Basdeo
I was trying some codes to implement a scheduled task and came up with these codes . import java.util.*; class Task extends TimerTask { int count = 1; // run is a abstract method that defines task performed at scheduled time. public void run() { System.out.println(count+" : Mahendra Singh"); count++; } } class TaskScheduling { public static void main(String[] args) { Timer timer = new Timer(); // Schedule to run after every 3 second(3000 millisecond) timer.schedule( new Task(), 3000); } } My output : 1 : Mahendra Singh I expected the compiler to print a series of Mahendra Singh at periodic interval of 3 s but despite waiting for around 15 minutes, I get only one output...How do I solve this out?

  • Adding an observer to UIImageView? observer & notifications

    - by sagar
Each class has almost one method named addObserver [imgVURL addObserver:<#(NSObject *)observer#> forKeyPath:<#(NSString *)keyPath#> options:<#(NSKeyValueObservingOptions)options#> context:<#(void *)context#>] Here, imgVURL is an image which is going to be load an image asynchronously. When image will be loaded dynamically - other class will set an image from loaded data. Now, my question is how can we add an observer to UIImageView's instance. Observer and notifications are same or not ? If it is not then what's different ? Let's have some sample code That I did in my project to understand my question. // locating image view from Scroll view by it's tag imgVURL=(UIImageView*)[scrMain viewWithTag:(kTagImagesTag+i)]; // ImageViewURL is a class which contains methods of // didReceiveResponse // didReceiveData // connection ImageViewURL *tmp=[[ImageViewURL alloc] init]; // it has a nonatomic property which will take the reference of my image view tmp.imgV=imgVURL; // now I will pass a url from my an array to property strURL // in strUrl I have custom setter // in which I am initializing a connection tmp.strUrl=[NSURL URLWithString:[[tblmain objectAtIndex:i] valueForKey:@"url"]]; // from ImageViewURL.m file -(void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection { [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setNetworkActivityIndicatorVisible:NO]; // NSLog@"ImageView Ref From - %@",imgV); // see imgV has reference of my -> imgVURL (nonatomic, assign) imgV.image=[UIImage imageWithData:myWebData]; [connection release]; connection=nil; } // as you can see in above code many many images are loaded asynchronously // now How can I add an observer to an imageview whether it received or not.

  • How do I use an indeterminate status indicator as the image for an NSStatusItem?

    - by abrahamvegh
I have an application that is an NSStatusItem. It has a few different modes, each of which require an external process to be launched, during which the icon is simply highlighted, and appears to be frozen. I want to use the -setImage method (or reasonable facsimile) to display something along the lines of a "spinner" commonly seen in web applications and all over OS X. Is there any native method for accomplishing this (e.g. some instance of NSProgressIndicator?) or must I manually display an animation by cycling through a set of images? In either case, how would I implement?

  • Windows CE 5.0 image building: Possible without Platform Builder?

    - by developer
Is it possible to create Windows CE 5.0 images (ie: nk.bin) from VS2005/VS2008 without using Platform Builder? If so, how? Can a vendor BSP for WinCE 5 be loaded into VS2005/2008? Are there the parts to do this available for download from Microsoft (ie: the SDK), or must you buy the special bits (a la PB) from a "special distributor"? I know it is possible to build binaries (.dll, .exe) for WinCE 5.0 using VS, my question is about creating entire bootable CE 5.0 images for embedded platforms.

  • Content-disposition:inline header won't show images inline?

    - by hamstar
I'm trying to show an image inline on a page. It is being served by a codeigniter controller. class Asset extends MY_Controller { function index( $folder, $file ) { $asset = "assets/$folder/$file"; if ( !file_exists( $asset ) ) { show_404(); return; } switch ( $folder ) { case 'css': header('Content-type: text/css'); break; case 'js': header('Content-type: text/javascript'); break; case 'images': $ext = substr( $file, strrpos($file, '.') ); switch ( $ext ) { case 'jpg': $ext = 'jpeg'; break; case 'svg': $ext = 'svg+xml'; break; } header('Content-Disposition: inline'); header('Content-type: image/'.$ext); } readfile( $asset ); } } When I load a image in Chrome of FF its pops up the download window. I know when the browser can't display the content inline it will force a download anyway, but these are PNG and GIF images which display in the browser fine otherwise. In IE it doesn't force a download but it displays the image in ASCII. If I comment out the entire image case it FF and Chrome both display the ASCII but not the image. I thought setting the content type would allow FF and Chrome to show the actual image, and also allow the location to be used as an src. The javascript and css shows fine of course. Anyone got any ideas how I can make the images show properly? Thanks :)

  • Saving data - does work on Simulator, not on Device

    - by Peter Hajas
I use NSData to persist an image in my application. I save the image like so (in my App Delegate): - (void)applicationWillTerminate:(UIApplication *)application { NSLog(@"Saving data"); NSData *data = UIImagePNGRepresentation([[viewController.myViewController myImage]image]); //Write the file out! NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *documentsDirectory = [paths objectAtIndex:0]; NSString *path_to_file = [documentsDirectory stringByAppendingString:@"lastimage.png"]; [data writeToFile:path_to_file atomically:YES]; NSLog(@"Data saved."); } and then I load it back like so (in my view controller, under viewDidLoad): NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *documentsDirectory = [paths objectAtIndex:0]; NSString *path_to_file = [documentsDirectory stringByAppendingString:@"lastimage.png"]; if([[NSFileManager defaultManager] fileExistsAtPath:path_to_file]) { NSLog(@"Found saved file, loading in image"); NSData *data = [NSData dataWithContentsOfFile:path_to_file]; UIImage *temp = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData:data]; myViewController.myImage.image = temp; NSLog(@"Finished loading in image"); } This code works every time on the simulator, but on the device, it can never seem to load back in the image. I'm pretty sure that it saves out, but I have no view of the filesystem. Am I doing something weird? Does the simulator have a different way to access its directories than the device? Thanks!

  • how to load an image to a grid using pygame, instead of just using a fill color?

    - by yao jiang
I am trying to create a "map of a city" using pygame. I want to be able to put images of buildings in specific grid coords rather than just filling them in with a color. This is how I am creating this map grid: def clear(): for r in range(rows): for c in range(rows): if r%3 == 1 and c%3 == 1: color = brown; grid[r][c] = 1; else: color = white; grid[r][c] = 0; pygame.draw.rect(screen, color, [(margin+width)*c+margin, (margin+height)*r+margin, width, height]) pygame.display.flip(); Now how do I put images of buildings in those brown colored grids at those specific locations? I've tried some of the samples online but can't seem to get them to work. Any help is appreciated. If anyone have a good source for free sprites that I can use for pygame, please let me know. Thanks!

  • What HTTP error code should I use for unauthorised access to a protected image?

    - by Bala Clark
I am writing a web application that has secure images uploaded by users. These images are only available to the owner when logged in. I am wondering what the best HTTP error code to throw in the case of unauthorised access? Would a 404 not found, or a 403 unauthorised be better? I am leaning towards the 403, but would it be better to hide the fact that the resource exists to unauthorised users be better?

  • AjaxStart issue

    - by Jerry
Hi All I am trying to build a shopping website with ajax. When a user clicks the "add to cart" image. The little loading image will show next to the Add To Cart Image. The first click works fine and the image showed as I expected. However, the second and the following clicks appends more images on the first loading image(2nd:add two loading images, 3rd: add three images..6 total images after 3 clicks). I did use ajaxStop and remove the first image...Not sure what's going on...Could use a help. Thanks a lot. My javascript code // add to cart $(".addToCart").click(function(e){ $this=$(this); $tableId=$this.closest('table').attr('id'); $($this).prev().ajaxStart(function(){ $("<img class='loader' src='images/loader.gif'>").insertBefore($this); }); $($this).prev().ajaxStop(function(){ $($this).prev().remove(); }); HTML <table> <tr> <td width="146" align="right" valign="middle"> <br> <span id="wasPrice"><?php echo $productPriceWas; ?></span> <br> <?php echo "$".$productPrice;?><br>**//I want my image here**<a class="addToCart" href="javascript:void(0);"><img src="images/addToCart.gif" alt="add To Cart"/><a/> </td> </tr> </table>

  • Ajax loader image: How to set a minimum duration during which the loader is shown?

    - by whamsicore
I am using Jquery for Ajax functionality, and using a loader icon to indicate to the user that data is being retrieved. However, I want the user to see the loader icon for at least 1s, even if the data takes less than 1s to retrieve (if more than 1s is required, the loader icon should remain for the entire duration. Here is the code for the loader HTML <img id="loader" src="example.com/images/ loader.gif" style="vertical-align: middle; display: none" /> I am using the Jquery .Ajax function for my data processing.

  • How do I use IImgCtx to get load an image with an alpha channel?

    - by fret
I have some working code that uses IImgCtx to load images, but I can't work out how to get at the alpha channel. For images like .gif's and .png's there are transparent pixels, but using anything other than a 24-bit bitmap as a drawing surface doesn't work. For reference on the interface: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/graphics/JianImgCtxDecoder.aspx My code looks like this: IImgCtx *Ctx = 0; HRESULT hr = CoCreateInstance(CLSID_IImgCtx, NULL, CLSCTX_INPROC_SERVER, IID_IImgCtx, (LPVOID*)&Ctx); if (SUCCEEDED(hr)) { GVariant Fn = Name; hr = Ctx->Load(Fn.WStr(), 0); if (SUCCEEDED(hr)) { SIZE Size = { -1, -1 }; ULONG State = 0; while (true) { hr = Ctx->GetStateInfo(&State, &Size, false); if (SUCCEEDED(hr)) { if ((State & IMGLOAD_COMPLETE) || (State & IMGLOAD_STOPPED) || (State & IMGLOAD_ERROR)) { break; } else { LgiSleep(1); } } else break; } if (Size.cx > 0 && Size.cy > 0 && pDC.Reset(new GMemDC)) { if (pDC->Create(Size.cx, Size.cy, 32)) { HDC hDC = pDC->StartDC(); if (hDC) { RECT rc = { 0, 0, pDC->X(), pDC->Y() }; Ctx->Draw(hDC, &rc); pDC->EndDC(); } } else pDC.Reset(); } } Ctx->Release(); Where "StartDC" basically wraps CreateCompatibleDC(NULL) and "EndDC" wraps DeleteDC, with appropriate SelectObjects for the HBITMAPS etc. And pDC-Create(x, y, bit_depth) calls CreateDIBSection(...DIB_RGB_COLORS...). So it works if I create a 24 bits/pixel bitmap but has no alpha to speak of, and it leaves the 32 bits/pixel bitmap blank. Now this interface apparently is used by Internet Explorer to load images, and obviously THAT supports transparency, so I believe that it's possible to get some level of alpha out of the interface. The question is how? (I also have fall back code that will call libpng/libjpeg/my .gif loader etc)

  • What is the fastest way to scale and display an image in Python?

    - by Knut Eldhuset
I am required to display a two dimensional numpy.array of int16 at 20fps or so. Using Matplotlib's imshow chokes on anything above 10fps. There obviously are some issues with scaling and interpolation. I should add that the dimensions of the array are not known, but will probably be around thirty by four hundred. These are data from a sensor that are supposed to have a real-time display, so the data has to be re-sampled on the fly.
