  Hello, Each time I try to deploy my server side code, the build fails. If I try to restart my machine, the build is successful but fails later when I try to build the subsequent times. But in this case, the driver blows a NoHostAvailableException and no ExecutionInfo is available, so tracing has not provided any benefit in this case. I also find it interesting that this does not seem to be recorded as a timeout (my JMX consoles tell me no timeouts have occurred). So, I am left not understanding WHERE the failure is actually occurring. I am left with the idea that it is the driver that is having a problem, but I don't know how to debug it (and I would really like to). I have read several posts from folks that state that query'g for resultSets 10000 rows is probably not a good idea, and I am willing to accept this, but I would like to understand what is causing the exception and where the exception is happening. FWIW, I also tried bumping the timeout properties in the cassandra.yaml, but this made no difference whatsoever. I welcome any suggestions, anecdotes, insults, or monetary contributions for my registration in the house of moron-developers. Regards!!

• Change UIButton Background Image more than once per second

  I am currently working with the iPhone SDK. I have a NSTimer that changes the background image of a UIButton. Once this is complete, it will trigger the same action again (reset the NSTimer) for a predetermined number of times. My problem is that if my NSTimer is set to execute more than once per second. (0.75, say) The background image wont change. I am using NSLog to check that the event fires. But the button image will just remain in its original state. Is there any way to change the background image more often than once per second? This is my timer : [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval: tmpLvlSpeed target: self selector: @selector(simPressRed:) userInfo: nil repeats: NO]; And the code to change the image: [btnRed setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"btn_red.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; if tmpLvlSpeed is less than 1.0, the button image will never change. Even though the simPressRed function will still fire. Any clues? Is there an update cycle I can modify?

  Hi there! In my project I am using NHibernate/FluentNHibernate, and I am working with two entities, contracts and services. I am using FluentNhibernate. So my mappings file are the following: public TTLCContractMapping() { Table("tab_tlc_contracts"); Id(x => x.Id, "tlc_contract_id"); HasMany(x => x.Services) .Inverse() .Cascade.All() .KeyColumn("tlc_contract_id") .AsSet(); } and public TTLCServiceMapping() { Table("tab_tlc_services"); Id(x => x.Id, "tlc_service_id"); References(x => x.Contract) .Not.Nullable() .Column("tlc_contract_id"); } and here comes my problem: if I retrieve the list of all contracts in the db, it works. if I retrieve the list of all services in a given contract, I get a StackOverflowException.... Do you see anything wrong with what I wrote? Have I made any mistake? Please let me know if you need any additional information. Oh yes, I missed to say... looking at the stacktrace I see the system is loading all the services and then it is loading again the contracts related to those services.   We have a Spring MVC web app (WAR) deploying to Tomcat (6.0.35) that launches a thread inside a separate JVM at deploy time (don't ask why - not my design) and then communicates with that thread via RMI over port 8888. Despite being totally convoluded, this was working perfectly fine up until yesterday, and now the thread is failing at startup and despite our best efforts to add logging into the mix, we are hitting a wall. • ServiceController.Stop() doesn't appear to be stopping anything

  My dev box is a Windows 7 (x64) machine. I've got some code (C#, .net 2.0) that in certain circumstances, checks to see if a service is running and then stops it. ServiceController matchedService = //My Service! //If statements and such matchedService.Stop(); matchedService.WaitForStatus(ServiceControllerStatus.Stopped); Now, I can verify MyService is in fact installed and running. I can tell you I am running Visual Studio 2008 as an administrator while debugging. I can also verify that after a couple of If statements, I wind up at the .Stop() and .WaitForStatus() portion of the programming. I do know that if step over the .Stop() call, the service itself just keeps running (looking at it in Services, though it occurs to me perhaps I should grab a better tool for this. I'm sure there's some sysinternals tool that might give me more information). As I step over the .WaitForStatus() call, I basically wind up waiting for the stopped status. . . forever. Well, I let it sit there for over 15 minutes yesterday (twice) and nothing happens. We never make it to the next line of code. It feels exactly like Bowie's Space Oddity (you know the part I am talking about). There's a lotta things about MyService you don't know anything about. Things you wouldn't understand. Things you couldn't. . . let me state this plainly. No services depend on MyService and MyService depends on no other services. Addendum MyOtherService and SonOfMyService both seem to behave correctly at this point in the code. All of these services share the same characteristics (they're our own services we hatched in a secret lab and have no dependencies). Is it possible there is something wrong with the MyService install or something? I do know that if I stop debugging at this point, MyService is still listed as running in Services (even after hitting refresh). If I try to restart it then (or run my application again and get to this point), I get a message about it not being able to accept control messages. After that, the service shows up as stopped and I can start it normally. Why isn't the service being stopped? Is this a quirk of win 7? A failing on my part to understand the ServiceController, or Win Services in general?

  I have just started to integrate django_digest into my app. As a start I have added the @httpdigest decorator to one of my views. If I try to connect to it I get a KeyError exception thrown in django_digest/backend/db.py . Depending on which db I configure I get a different KeyError in a different location. I am using Django 1.2.1, with MySql (also tested with sqlite). I am using the default values for all the settings options. As far as I can see I have followed all instructions but am struggling all day with this. I am using the repository versions of django-digest and python-digest. Any steer would be greatly appreciated. • ZF Autoloader to load ancestor and requested class

  I am integrating Zend Framework into an existing application. I want to switch the application over to Zend's autoloading mechanism to replace dozens of include() statements. I have a specific requirement for the autoloading mechanism, though. Allow me to elaborate. The existing application uses a core library (independent from ZF), for example: /Core/Library/authentication.php /Core/Library/translation.php /Core/Library/messages.php this core library is to remain untouched at all times and serves a number of applications. The library contains classes like class ancestor_authentication { ... } class ancestor_translation { ... } class ancestor_messages { ... } in the application, there is also a Library directory: /App/Library/authentication.php /App/Library/translation.php /App/Library/messages.php these includes extend the ancestor classes and are the ones that actually get instantiated in the application. class authentication extends ancestor_authentication { } class translation extends ancestor_translation { } class messages extends ancestor_messages { } usually, these class definitions are empty. They simply extend their ancestors and provide the class name to instantiate. $authentication = new authentication(); The purpose of this solution is to be able to easily customize aspects of the application without having to patch the core libraries. Now, the autoloader I need would have to be aware of this structure. When an object of the class authentication is requested, the autoloader would have to: 1. load /Core/Library/authentication.php 2. load /App/Library/authentication.php My current approach would be creating a custom function, and binding that to Zend_Loader_Autoloader for a specific namespace prefix. Is there already a way to do this in Zend that I am overlooking? The accepted answer in this question kind of implies there is, but that may be just a bad choice of wording. Are there extensions to the Zend Autoloader that do this? Can you - I am new to ZF - think of an elegant way, conforming with the spirit of the framework, of extending the Autoloader with this functionality? I'm not necessary looking for a ready-made implementation, some pointers (This should be an extension to the xyz method that you would call like this...) would already be enough.
