• How can menu bars that require a right click be activated like Ubuntu versions <10.10?

  I've noticed that NetworkManager only has a single, left or right, click menu and no longer has an About menu option to show it's splash screen. In fact all the top bar mini short cut icons have been amputated and crippled leaving them with no rights. This severely impacts on our custom aps., similar to FireFox bookmarks, which can no longer be right clicked to bring up a context menu. It is possible to disengage FF's File|Edit|... menu bar from the top by running it in safe-mode so the menu bar is resident in a window, restoring right clicks, but our aps. do not have "safe modes". How can right clicks in menu bars be restored? reference

• Ubuntu 10.04 Cant Adjust brightness on my lenovo Thinkpad?

  I cant seem to be able to adjust the brightness on my think-pad laptop running Ubuntu 10.04. In the power management applet it shows that the power is set to 100%, but even if i try to lower it the actual screen brightness dosent change. Any ideas of how I can get around this? I tried changing the brightness from the terminal but its already set to Max brightness (however the actual screen brightness is no that bright at all). Thanks

  Hi everyone, I'm planning a project at the moment, while building a completely different project at the same time. Both of these projects are quite innovative in the way they either work or the way they are presented. One of the projects hasn't been done before, and the other is being made has competition, but I feel the competitions websites are light years behind what I'm doing. Is there a way for me to prevent the way my sites work or presented from being stolen? I've thought of patenting parts of them, but it requires £10,000 and I don't have that amount of money.   When you have a social website or a website where you can register, would you eventually delete them after a certain time (after a year of inactivity) or would you rather keep their account records for ever? I know websites like Facebook have large amount of inactive, duplicated and fake accounts. So I'm wondering if after two years of inactivity it would be alright to send the account a warning email of deletion unless they log in.
