    I am executing a shell script to execute my user defined aggregate which is taking inputs yavg=nzsql -c 'select avg(x) from Input1' which is giving output like this AVG ---------- 2.000000 (1 row) I want to pass only the numeric(double) value which is 2.0000(where xavg is expected) from this to S4(x,y,$xavg,$yavg) where x and y are the whole column from table Input1, xavg=nzsql -c 'select avg(y) from Input1' Below is my InputTable.txt which is a text file from which I am popluating my "Input1" table in the shell script. 1 2 3 2 1 2 3 2 1 nzsql -c 'create table Input1(x integer, y integer, v integer)' nzload -t Input1 -df InputTable.txt nzsql -c 'select * from Input1 yavg=`nzsql -c 'select avg(x) from Input1'` xavg=`nzsql -c 'select avg(y) from Input1' nzsql -c 'select S4(x,y,$xavg,$yavg) from test' Below is the output : xavg := AVG ---------- 2.000000 (1 row) yavg := AVG ---------- 1.666667 (1 row) and i am passing this value to S4(x,y,$xavg,$yavg) which is a User defined aggregate

However I checked that if I only specialize for const char * then passing a char * variable will invoke the non-specialized version, when called like this in VC++10: char something[25]; strcpy(something, "blah"); write(something); What would be the proper way of doing this?

  • Combining features from other projects in an ASP.NET MVC application

    Hello, I am writing an ASP.NET MVC application that combines a set of features from existing applications. The new application is suppose to use UI features and logic created (especially for this purpose) in the existing applications. For that reason I wanted to create in the existing applications some kind of a "blackbox" that I will be able to drop in my new application along with a matching connection string, and it will work independently, binding data on it's own. I thought about using partial views, but I am having trouble with passing the model data to it, since the controller of the new application should not know about the model of the existing applications. I can not use ASP.NET WebForms, since my application should be a "postback-less" application, and ASP.NET AJAX toolkit or frameworks alike are out of the question.   • How can I stop a default event when using a named function in addEvent?

    Normally, if I wish to stop a default event in mootools I can do this: $('form').addEvent('submit', function(e) { e.stop(); //Do stuff here } However, I don't like using an anonymous function in events because I often want to reuse the code. Lets say I have a validate function. I could do this: $('form').addEvent('submit', validate); which works fine until I want to stop the default event. validate obviously doesn't know what e is so I can't just do e.stop(). Also I've tried passing the event as a variable to validate but whenever I use a named function with parameters, the function gets called automatically on domready, rather than on the event firing. Even worse, an error is thrown when the event is fired: What am I doing wrong?

  • Have you switched from CodeIgniter to Kohana?

    Hi All, I usually just work with straight PHP, but want to try MVC and see if a framework will really speed up development. After much waffling, analysis paralysis, and many dumb SO questions, I thought I had settled on CodeIgniter for my next PHP project. However, I am now seriously considering Kohana. Has anyone made the switch from CI to Kohana? If so, why? What's better about the actual code, libraries, etc? Edit: Hi All, I did end up going with Kohana. It's easy to use, but more importantly, it's easy NOT to use, since there are a lot of things I like to work with native PHP for. It's ridiculously extensible, well coded, and seems like it is beginning to pull out ahead of CI in a few things like putting views in views, passing subview data, etc. I am sure CI will catch up, but Kohana should be 3 steps ahead by then =o)

    In PHP 5.2.3, "fdopen" was used to read/write to a file descriptor that's opened by another application. fdopen(<fileDescriptorId>,"rw"); //It worked fine with PHP 5.2.3 After upgrading PHP to 5.3.2, it's throwing "undefined reference to 'fdopen' function". Please suggest whats the replacement for this in PHP 5.3.2 or any workaround.

  • Have threads run indefinitely in a java application

    I am trying to program a game in which I have a Table class and each person sitting at the table is a separate thread. The game involves the people passing tokens around and then stopping when the party chime sounds. how do i program the run() method so that once I start the person threads, they do not die and are alive until the end of the game One solution that I tried was having a while (true) {} loop in the run() method but that increases my CPU utilization to around 60-70 percent. Is there a better method?

  • Is it okay to pass injected EntityManagers to EJB bean's helper classes and use it?

    We have some JavaEE5 stateless EJB bean that passes the injected EntityManager to its helpers. Is this safe? It has worked well until now, but I found out some Oracle document that states its implementation of EntityManager is thread-safe. Now I wonder whether the reason we did not have issues until now, was only because the implementation we were using happened to be thread-safe (we use Oracle). @Stateless class SomeBean { @PersistenceContext private EntityManager em; private SomeHelper helper; @PostConstruct public void init(){ helper = new SomeHelper(em); } @Override public void business(){ helper.doSomethingWithEm(); } } Actually it makes sense.. If EntityManager is thread-unsafe, a container would have to do inercept business() this.em = newEntityManager(); business(); which will not propagate to its helper classes. If so, what is the best practice in this kind of a situation? Passing EntityManagerFactory instead of EntityManager?

  • ASP.NET Elements are null when assigning data source

    For some reason, all of the objects in my ASP.NET markup are now null when I try to assign values to their properties in the code behind. My project was going fine and then now when I try to assign a data source to a GridView, I get a null reference error. I have no idea why it's doing this. I am not doing nothing special. I am just trying to assign a value to a property to an asp.net element in on the page. The intellisense knows that the element is there and I get no errors when I build the project. It's just when I am running the website I get the null reference. I have been trying to fix this issue for a couple weeks now. Please Help. Thanks.   • ASP.net MVC: Getting a Partial View's HTML from inside of the controller

    I have developed a simple mechanism for my mvc website to pull in html via jquery which then populates a specified div. All is well and it looks cool. My problem is that i'm now creating html markup inside of my controller (Which is very easy to do in VB.net btw) I'd rather not mix up the sepparation of concerns. Is it possible to use a custom 'MVC View User Control' to suit this need? Can I create an instance of a control, pass in the model data and render to html? It would then be a simple matter of rendering and passing back to the calling browser.

    When making a GetUserAvailability call passing in 128 mailboxs Exchange 07 returns an EmailAddressArray error stating the allowed size of the array is 100. Is there a way to increase the array size beyond 100, so that Exchange 07 returns with a GetUserAvailablity request? I'm currently getting the following error: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Microsoft.Exchange.InfoWorker.Common.Availability.IdentityArrayTooBigException: There are too many target users in the EmailAddress array.     I would need some help on how to optimize the query. select * from transaction where id < 7500001 order by id desc limit 16 when i do an explain plan on this - the type is "range" and rows is "7500000" According to the some online reference's this is explained as, it took the query 7,500,000 rows to scan and get the data. Is there any way i can optimize so it uses less rows to scan and get the data. Also, id is the primary key column.

    Purely in terms of its conceptual model, is the purpose of Atom (and RSS) only to provide a time-sequential series of frequently-updated items, such as "most recent blog posts" or "last twenty SVN commits," or can Atom be legitimately used to represent static and/or non-time-sequential listings/indices? As an example, "index of files under this directory", "dog breeds" or "music genres". Even if there's a date associated with the items, like a file's last modified date, what if you don't necessarily want time to be the primary consideration when you represent that model to your users? The context for this is passing around (generating and consuming) lists of things in a REST-ful environment, hopefully using a well-understood format, where "date something was created/updated" is a pertinent detail, but not the primary consideration. I realize there's probably no right answer, but wanted to get some perspectives. Thanks.
