• Facing Problem with Libxml.rb

  Hi Folks, I downloaded one of the rails app from server and tried running it.I faced an error on migration D:\Radiant\trunkrake db:migrate (in D:/Radiant/trunk) rake aborted! 126: The specified module could not be found. - D:/Radiant/trunk/config/../ven dor/plugins/libxml-ruby/lib/libxml_ruby.so I got the windows version of libxml_ruby.so and tried again. i got the error saying " libxml2.dll " not found.Then i checked the file libxml.rb ..it says the below lines . If running on Windows, then add the current directory to the PATH for the current process so it can find the pre-built libxml2 and iconv2 shared libraries (dlls). Can anybody explain me what actually this mean? Regards Rakesh S

• Rails 3 functional optionally testing caching

  Generally, I want my functional tests to not perform action caching. Rails seems to be on my side, defaulting to config.action_controller.perform_caching = false in environment/test.rb. This leads to normal functional tests not testing the caching. So how do I test caching in Rails 3. The solutions proposed in this thread seem rather hacky or taylored towards Rails 2: How to enable page caching in a functional test in rails? I want to do something like: test "caching of index method" do with_caching do get :index assert_template 'index' get :index assert_template '' end end Maybe there is also a better way of testing that the cache was hit?

• TypeInitilazationException When Getting an NHibernate Session

  I’ve run into what appears to be an NHibernate config problem. Basically, I ran up a simple proof of concept persistence integration test using NUnit, the test simply querys an Oracle database and successfully returns the last record received by the underlying table. However, when the assemblies are taken out of the NUnit test environment and deployed as they would be for an actual application build, my call for an NHibernate session results in a ‘TypeInitializationException’ whilst executing the code line: sessionFactory = New Configuration().Configure().BuildSessionFactory() The application is a vb.net console app running against an Oracle 9.2 database, using a ‘coding framework’ published on the web by Bill McCafferty entitled 'NHibernate Best Practices with ASP.NET' (pre S#harp Architecture).   Hello, This is my messages_en_US.properties file in WEB-INF/classes folder :- Login=Login And then i created messages_fr_FR.properties :- Login=frenchLogin Then in my JSF page i wrote this :- <f:loadBundle basename="messages" var="msg"/> <h:commandButton id="btnLogin" value="#{msg.Login}" actionListener="#{IndexBean.doLogin}"/> I can correctly see the Login text by default. But when i go in firefox and change my default language to fr-fr, my text still remains the same i.e i can't see frenchLogin. I don't have anything in my faces-config.xml What am i doing wrong?   I'm attempting to provide a confirmation link in my user welcome email and I'm getting the following Rails error: Need controller and action! It makes a fuss about this line: <p>Please take a moment to activate your account by going to: <%= link_to confirm_user_url(:id => @user.confirmation_code) %>.</p> In my development.rb environment, I have the following line: config.action_mailer.default_url_options = { :host => "localhost", :port => 3000 } There's no problem with the @user variable. I've tested the email with things like @user.username and @user.confirmation_code. I'm only getting trouble with url_for and named routes like confirm_user_url. When I check my routes with rake routes, confirm_user shows up, so it's not an issue with the named route not existing. I can't seem to figure it out. What gives?

• Service Call very slow if going through HttpHandler

  I have a WCF client pointing to a WebSphere service. All is good in normal situation except when my calls to the service originate from an HttpHandler - in this case the calls are extremely slow (it takes up to 10 times longer). If I send the exact same envelopes through Soap-UI or without an HttpHandler it's all good. If the envelope is the same the only thing left is the HttpHeader. Would the fact that I am going through an HttpHandler cause changes HttpHeaders compared to normal scenarios? What should I be looking for and is there some config setting that might do the trick? Any help appreciated!

• Deploying a Rails App to Multiple Servers using Capistrano - Best Practices

  I have a rails application that I need to deploy to 3 servers - machine1.com, machine2.com and machine3.com. I want to be able to deploy it to all machines at once and each machine individually. Can someone help me out with a skeleton Capistrano config file / recipe? Should it all be in deploy.rb or should I break it out in machine1.rb, etc? I thought I was on the right track getting Capistrano to take in command line arguments, but it choked when I tried set the roles within the namespaces. I'd pass in 'hosts=1,2,3' as an argument and set the role:app/web/db to "machine#{host}.com" after splitting on the command and going into an each do |host| {}... Anyway, other than creating 4 different deploy.rb files and renaming it before running cap:deploy each time, I'm stumped. I'd like to be able to do the following: cap deploy:machine1:latest_version_from_svn cap deploy:all_machines:latest:version_from_svn Just don't know if it should all be in deploy.rb split up with namespaces or if it should be broken into multiple deploy*.rb files.

• multiple login pages in ASP.NET forms authentication

  My bank's website has 2 login pages for online banking. On the first page, I enter my username. If I don't enter a valid username, I get an error message, and do not get to the 2nd page. The 2nd page displays a picture based on my user name, and has me enter my password. If I manually type a URL to a page inside the site after entering my username but before entering my password, I am redirected back to the first login page. Is there a good way to implement this in ASP.NET with Forms Authentication? I only get 1 loginUrl in my web.config. I am fairly certain my bank uses Java.

• Browser for cross-site-script testing (for testing Mozilla Add-On)

  I am working on a Firefox extension that will involve ajax calls to domains that would normally fail due to the same-origin policy set by Firefox (and most modern browsers). I was wondering if there is a way to either turn off the same-origin restriction (in about:config, perhaps) or if there was a standard lite-browser that developers turn to for this. I really would like to avoid using any blackhat tools, if possible. Not because I'm against them, I just don't want to add another learning curve to the process. I can use curl in PHP to confirm that the requests work, but I want to get started on writing the js that the addon will actually use, so I need a client that will execute js. I also tried spidermonkey, but since I'm doing the ajax with jquery, it threw a fit at all of the browser-based default variables. So, short version: is there a reliable browser/client for cross site scripting that isn't primarily a hacker app? Or can I just turn off same-domain policy in Firefox?

  We have some legacy ASP.NET code that detects if a request is secure, and redirects to the https version of the page if required. This code uses Request.ServerVariables["SERVER_PORT_SECURE"] to detect if SSL is needed. Our operations team has suggested doing proxy SSL at the load balancer (F5 Big-IP) instead of on the web servers (assume for the purposes of this question that this is a requirement). The consequence would be that all requests appear as HTTP to the web server. My question: how can we let the web servers known that the incoming connection was secure before it hit the load balancer? Can we continue to use Request.ServerVariables["SERVER_PORT_SECURE"]? Do you know of a load balancer config that will send headers so that no application code changes are needed?

• Problem authenticating with shiro in grails app

  I have a grails 1.2 app and I want to use declarative security in order to restrict accesses based on roles. I decided to try shiro, installed the plugin, but when I try to authenticate, the message "Invalid username and/or password" shows up in the header. I check the db entry and the user is there with the sha'ed password. No messages are shown neither in the console nor in the stacktrace file. I added "warn 'org.jsecurity'" to Config.groovy with no results. Any hints/tricks to troubleshoot this ?

When I use "UseEmbeddedHttpServer = true" on the document store, first time I send a request to RavenDB, it executes properly but when I try for the second time my application displays Raven Studio. However, if UseEmbeddedServer setting be removed then my application will be running without any problems. My RavenDB is configured with the following codes in data tier : this.documentStore = new EmbeddableDocumentStore { ConnectionStringName = "RavenDB", UseEmbeddedHttpServer = true } and implementation of Web.config have these settings in the service tier : <connectionStrings> <add name="RavenDB" connectionString="~\App_Data\RavenDatabase" /> </connectionStrings> Is there a setting I missed?

What I want is to change this default widget in order to generate forms with my custom Widget. I don't want to change by hand all the forms generated. • skip-limit ignored for skippable exception thrown from writer

  i am working on a project with spring batch 2.0.2 and have skippable exception set up in the config. for exceptions thrown from the processor everything works fine. it skips and once the limit is execeed the job fails (or stops). for exceptions thrown from the writer (same chunk) it keeps skipping. the skip-limit doesnt seem to matter. maybe i missunderstood and skipping and writer don't go together or maybe i am missing a configuration. does anyone know how to skip issues - with a limit - within the writer properly?

• Linux - Create ftp account with read/write access to only 1 folder

I have never worked on linux and dont plan on working on it either - The only command I probably know is "ls" :) I am hosting my website on Eapps and use their cpanel to setup everything so never worked with linux. Now I have this one time case - where I need to provide access to a contractor to fix the CSS issues on my website. He basically needs FTP (read/write) access to certain folders. At a high level - this is my code structure /home/webadmin/example.com/html/images /css /js /login.php /facebook.php /home/webadmin/example.com/application/library /views /models /controllers /config /bootstrap.php /home/webadmin/example.com/cgi-bin I want the new user to be able to have access to only these folders /home/webadmin/example.com/html/js /home/webadmin/example.com/html/css /home/webadmin/example.com/application/views He should not be able to view even the content of other folders including files like bootstrap.php or login.php etc If any sys admins can help me set this account up - will really appreciate it. • run two apache servers on one computer

  I would like to run two XAMPP apache servers and mysql on one Windows computer. My first idea was to run one under directory XAMPP, the other under XAMPP_B. Why you ask? I have two applications that have to be in the "root" directory of localhost. Both servers do not have to be active at same time, so I don't think I will have any conflicts I will have to modify my.cnf in mySQL httpd.conf, apache_start and maybe other config files as well. Or maybe someone can suggest a better way...

  in yii i could have mvc components (acts like an own application). could i have this too in codeigniter? eg. in SYSTEM/APPLICATION have a folder called COMPONENTS and in there i put stand-alone applications that would be a part of the application. components like ADDRESS BOOK, MAIL, TWITTER and so on. every component folder has folders like: models, views, controllers, config etc. so a component model extends the application model which in turn extends system's (code igniter) model. the same goes for view and controller. i've already got a lot of these components which i want to use in codeigniter. is it good idea to place them as i said in SYSTEM/APPLICATION/COMPONENTS or is there best practice for this?

  I was getting 404 errors for some long URLs on a website I'm developing. After a bit of digging I discovered that this occurs when the length of certain aspects of the URL exceed configurable limits in IIS7. In this case the maxQueryString attribute of the requestLimits property needed to be increased in the web.config <system.webServer> <security> <requestFiltering> <requestLimits maxQueryString="4096" maxAllowedContentLength="4096" maxUrl="8192" > </requestLimits> </requestFiltering> </security> This fixed the problem instantly on my development server but on the remote server I now get: 500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. And that's all the information it gives me.

  I can run my Asp.Net MVC 2 application without an issue on my local computer. Just Run / Debug. But if I have already built it, I can't publish it! I have to clean the solution and publish it again. I know this is not system critical, but it's really annoying. "One Click Publish" is not "Clean solution and then One click publish" The exact error is as follows: Error 11 It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS. I suspect it's something to do with the Web.Config in the Views folder, but then why only after I build once previously. And just to note, the app works fine once published.

• Custom Grails Environments?

  I have been developing several Grails applications over the past couple of years. I am increasingly finding that the three grails environments (dev, test, prod) aren't enough to satisfy my needs. The more "enterprisey" your application gets, the more environments you tend to have. I tend to use 6 environments for my development cycle... DEVA //My dev DEVB //Team mates dev CI_TEST //CI like Hudson QA_TEST //Testing team environment UAT_TEST //Customers testing environment PROD //Production Im wondering if there is a way to define custom Grails environments? I dont think there is, but the feature could be handy. The way I am getting around this right now is by externalising the config to a properties file. Id imagine that this is a pretty common requirement, so how have you been dealing with your environments?

  I have VS2010 Premium,.NET4.0, MVC3 Tools Update. I've nugetted microsoft-web-helpers successfully. I cannot get @razor intellisense to recognize the microsoft.web.helpers classes. They do work correctely at runtime, i.e. @Twitter.profile shows a profile, but at design time the statent is seen as an error and no members are shown after "." I've tried to add <add assembly="System.Web.Helpers, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" /> to the <assemblies> element in web.config, but it didn't help. Any idea? thanks.
