• Why does my server hang when I call a page over files_get_content?

  I am trying to get content from a wordpress installation on a subdomain of my server. I tried that with file_get_content and also with Zend_Http_Client. $client = new Zend_Http_Client(Zend_Registry::get('CONFIG')->static->$name->$lang); $content = $client->request()->getBody(); As long as I run in on my localhost, it works fine. As soon as it runs on the same server as the subdomain, it hangs forever (timeout).   I am trying to get Profile properties in the code behind. But I am not getting any intellisence like Profile.Homephone or Profile.CellPhone. How can I accomplish this? If I call it like so: log("My name is %s, and I like %s", "Dave", "Javascript"); I get this (it doesn't recognize "Javascript" as a 3rd argument): My name is Dave, and I like %s If I call this: log("My name is %s, and I like %s", ["Dave", "Javascript"]); then it treats the second arg as an array (it doesn't expand to multiple args). What trick am I missing to get it to expand the optional args?

• Is it possible for competing file access to cause deadlock in Java?

  I'm chasing a production bug that's intermittent enough to be a real bastich to diagnose properly but frequent enough to be a legitimate nuisance for our customers. While I'm waiting for it to happen again on a machine set to spam the logfile with trace output, I'm trying to come up with a theory on what it could be. Is there any way for competing file read/writes to create what amounts to a deadlock condition? For instance, let's say I have Thread A that occasionally writes to config.xml, and Thread B that occasionally reads from it. Is there a set of circumstances that would cause Thread B to prevent Thread A from proceeding? My thanks in advance to anybody who helps with this theoretical fishing expedition. Edit: To answer Pyrolistical's questions: the code isn't using Filelock, and is running on a WinXP machine.

  Long story, long: I am adding a web interface (ASPX.NET: VB) to a data acquisition system developed with LabVIEW which outputs raw data files. These raw data files are the binary representation of a LabVIEW cluster (essentially a structure). LabVIEW provides functions to instantiate a class or structure or call a method defined in a .NET DLL file. I plan to create a DLL file containing a structure definition and a class with methods to transfer the structure. When the webpage requests data, it would call a LabVIEW executable with a filename parameter. The LabVIEW code would instantiate the structure, populate the structure from the data file, then call the method to transfer the data back to the website. Long story, short: How do you recommend I transfer (copy) an instance of a structure from one .NET program to a VB.NET program? Ideas considered: sockets, temp file, xml file, config file, web services, CSV, some type of serialization, shared memory

  I was recommended by someone in Stack Overflow to use Core Data Editor http://christian-kienle.de/CoreDataEditor/ to manage the sqlite persistent store. However the latest version (3.0) crashes on launch everytime. Older versions load but I see nothing when i point the config to the persistent store and the object model directories. There is no documentation either. can someone point me to the right place to sort this problem? I am trying to find a more manageable way to coordinate core data development than sqlite consoles. thank you

• Http 404: Not Found (WebException)

  Hi, I am using a console app/class library to invoke a asp.net web service. The class library queries the database and sends the data to the web service. What I notice is that when the amount of data is huge (with 20 columns and 18K records), i get a HTTP 404: Not Found exception from the web service. I have tried increasing the maxReqeustLength and executionTimeout properties in the httpRuntime tag in the web.config of the web service. Is there any thing that I can do to overcome this?   Hi, I have a SSIS package used the protection level as "DontSaveSensitive" So initially i have saved the oledb connection manager password as in a XML config file.And this worked fine for me. Now for business requiremnt i have stored the configuration in sql server. Including password. Initially it worked fine.But suddenly connection manager is not taking password from sqlDB. If i set an environment variable for the "password" it's working. My question is. 1) what is the solution for this.( i can only save the configurations in sql) 2) initially how it worked.I mean initailly from sql server the password was taking. • Change My.Settings ConnectionString in runtime?

  I have a ClickOnce deployment where i have a INI-settings file on the network file with "global" settings that is supposed to affect the program on all client computers. The problem i have is that i whant to have the Database connectionString stored in this INI file and have it read and stored in the My.Settings ConnectionString at program startup. How do i do this? The ConnectionString setting is Application scoped and therefore Read-Only, if i try to set it by My.Settings("ConnectionString") = "Source=server;Initial Catalog=database;Integrated Security=True" I get a runtime error: An error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. The error is: The type initializer for 'DB_lib.DB_LINQ' threw an exception. [EDIT] I got rid of the error by using the My.Settings("ConnectionString") = "Source=server;Initial Catalog=database;Integrated Security=True" in another place then the the eventtriggerd settingsLoaded method i created.. The problem is that even though the connectionstring semes to be the right, the program still connects to the "default" database that is typed in to the app.config file??

• CodeIgniter Project Giving 303/Compression Error

  Trying to setup a CodeIgniter based project for local development (LAMP stack), and once all the config file were updated (meaning I successfully had meaningful bootstrap errors for CodeIgniter), I get this error in my browsers: Chrome Error 330 (net::ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED): Unknown error. Firefox Content Encoding Error: The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression. Just using wget to fetch the file works fine, no errors and I get the content I'm expecting. Not sure if this is something with CI and the Server, or just something weird with the project. Has anyone seen this before?

  I've got an error page here SiteError.aspx and it's configured correctly in the web.config to go there when unhandled exceptions are encountered. I want to use this page to log the exception that triggered it as well because I only want to LOG the errors that the users encounter (i.e. if SiteError.aspx is ever hit.) This is the code I Have: In the OnLoad(...) in SiteError.aspx Exception lastEx = Context.Server.GetLastError(); if (lastEx != null) log.Error("A site error was encountered", lastEx); However, my log is never showing up in my Output, and If i breakpoint on line 2 (in this example) code execution is never interupted (after letting the exception clear to ASP.NET handling in the debugger.

  I am using impersonation is used to access file on UNC share as below. var ctx = ((WindowsIdentity)HttpContext.Current.User.Identity).Impersonate(); string level = WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().ImpersonationLevel); On two Windows 2003 servers using IIS6, I am getting different impersonation levels: Delegation on one server and Impersonation on the other server. This causes issues where I am unable to access the UNC share on the server with 'Impersonation' level. What could be causing this difference? I searched through machine.config and IIS settings for the app pool, site and virtual directories - but aren't able to find the cause of this problem.

• xDebug cant find my files. Always looks in localhost

  I'm running win7-64bit, NetBeans 7.1.1 and WampServer 2.2 (which has xDebug) I've configured php.ini (xdebug.remote_enable=on, etc.) I create a directory (virtual host called example.dev) and add a test file. (c:/wamp/example/test-xdebug.php) I run debug in NetBeans and the following url displays: http://localhost/example/test-xdebug.php?XDEBUG_SESSION_START=netbeans-xdebug This fails. The browser coughs up the following error message. Not Found. The requested URL /example/test-xdebug.php was not found on this server. I add the correct path to the virtual host, and xDebug Runs Flawlessly: http://example.dev/test-xdebug.php?XDEBUG_SESSION_START=netbeans-xdebug Tried every configuration I could think of. If this is a php.ini config issue, I sure as heck cant find it. If its a NetBeans issue, there is not an option/interface to modify i (that I can find). Please illuminate! thanks sleeper

  What are the latest and greatest ways to move ViewState to bottom of the page Can this be done in a IHttpHandler that can be specified in the web.config to intercept requests to "*.aspx"? <httpHandlers> <add verb="*" path="*.aspx" type="MyApp.OptimizedPageHandler" /> <httpHandlers> Other options is that this could be done in a IHttpModule, but that is not as performant, as it will intercept all requests. Also it could be done in an a class deriving from the Page or MasterPage-class, but this is not as modular. Are there any performance penalties to this?

• How to set the base path in IIS 7 hosting a WCF application?

  I've been fighting my way through the process of migrating a (previously self-hosted) WCF application to IIS7 (I've never used IIS before and I realise that this is a very simplistic question but I failed to google/SO the answer so far). My service is hosted at http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/SampleWebsite/Service.svc but when I access it with ?wsdl all the references that should read http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/ are actually set to the window machine's local network name (i.e. http://localpc3/). I've tried using the WCF tool to add the external IP address to the base address section under the service I'm configuring as well as a number of setting inside IIS but I can't seem to track down the correct place. Where do I set this? IIS manager, web.config, somewhere else?
