  Possible Duplicate: Remove auto-complete field entries in Google Chrome Ok... so this is embarrassing. I typed in "boobs" on EncyclopediaDramatica's search because, well, it's a really funny page. But now I've got a problem... EVERY TIME I click a search feild in Chrome now, it shows "boobs" as the first suggestion in the drop down! This is not really socially acceptable as this laptop goes with me everywhere and Chrome is my primary browser. Is there a way I can isolate and remove just that one entry?

• How do you set the Scheduled Tasks "Run only if logged in" option from the command line?

  I want to create some tasks with the "Run only if logged in" option set, but using a batch file, as you can in the user interface version of the schtasks.exe tool. I'm doing this so I don't have to specify a password, either in the batch file, or when the batch file is run... I would use /ru System but I can't because the tool I'm automating (SyncToy 2.1) won't run with that account because I am hitting a network drive... Also, I noticed that Google Chrome sets up some tasks with this option set during installation, so I'm thinking there must be a way...

• Crop and Capture screen software/plugin for windows7

  Do you know a software or a plugin for a browser that lets me capture what's on my screen and crop it by ratio. I have a photoshop but I don't want to keep opening it just to capture a simple image and then croping it and then saving it. I want to quickly select a portion on my screen save it. If it's possible it lets me crop by ratio (eg. 4:3). Most that I will capture are in my browser, I use either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. • Turning off Chrome's visual effects

  Is there any way to turn off the visual effects used by Google Chrome? For example, the tabs slide around smoothly, the scrolling is really smooth, and there is a huge arrow that fades in and out during download. Reason why I'd like to know is primarily because I want to maximize battery life on my netbook by using less visual effects and, secondly, because I use Chrome on slower systems and would like to maximize the performance and efficiency of Chrome. This applies mainly to Windows XP, but also Vista, 7 and even (X)Ubuntu 9.10. EDIT1: Oh yes... disabling the attaching/detaching of tabs and turning them into translucent in the process. That's a bit stressful on my slower machines.

• Bookmarks folder on two machines not syncing

  I have Chromium installed on a Ubuntu 12.04 machine and Chrome on a Windows 7 machine. Both are updated to newest stable release. I am logged in on both machines with the same Google account. I created a folder A on my Windows machine and bookmarked some pages. A few hours later and before the folder appeared, I created a folder named A on the Ubuntu machine and continued adding links to it. Now, both the folders are not syncing and contain links local to each machine only. Is there any way to resolve this?

• No sound from Java web applet

  Using Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers on Ubuntu 9.10, I am unable to get any sound out from Java (version 6 update 15) on Runescape or WebSDR. I'm only interested in getting WebSDR working and Runescape was the only other web applet I knew would have sound. Sound does work in a test applet I downloaded when run from the command line so it seems to be a web specific issue. Anyone else encountered or solved this or a similar issue? Are there any better applets out there that I can use to test my sound?

  I have to save links to web pages into a google drive document. What I want is to copy simple webpage snippet, similar to the one this G+ extension button does, to clipboard. One picture and page title as a link. I was looking for many days now and I still couldn't find anything which does the same thing. Recommended action Contacted HostPapa and they deny that there is any issue with the site / server!!! Support in terms of what I can do to actually resolve this issue is non-existent!!!! The site is currently online. And I don't know much about DNS... so any advice about what I can do to resolve this problem would be much appreciated.

Need to do a citrix login via IE(amounts to loading a url) beause it wont run in google chrome 3. then set default browser to chrome Environment: Windows XP, no admin priv's no admin priv's mean I can't touch registry Basic Steps I'm Doing: In a bat file: 1.Set default browser to IE 2.run a citrix SSO login via IE (not compatible with chrome) 3.Set default browser to Chrome 4.kill IE 5.live long and prosper So i have it all running except "Set default browser to IE" I can set the default browser to chome by using portable chrome's cmd line argument --make-default-browser but I can't undo that process. If I launch IE, it pops up that 'make ie default browser' window which stops the SSO process. So If I can disable that check via bat file, that would also work for me.   I'm a novice at spreadsheets, so I hope you'll forgive me if I'm asking a super obvious question. Is it possible to use tags in Excel/Google Spreadsheet? I'm creating a spreadsheet to log all the articles and books I'm reading. Say I'm reading "I, Claudius". I want to give it these tags: history, fiction, biography, disability, politics, drama. Then, if I want to display all the articles/books tagged with "politics", I can maybe search/display/pivot with that tag. Maybe preferably, the tags should all be in one cell with each word separated by a comma. If each word were in a cell of its own, it would make the table really messy, I think. I am open to other labelling solutions too. Thanks!

He had been using his university email address for professional correspondence, when he found out that the university had permanently lost 16 business-related emails in their spam filter (with no apology, notification, or compensation). What I am looking for now is an email provider (preferably with Exchange, but not required) with very high reliability and a SLA that is basically an insurance policy. I have looked at Google Apps's SLA, but this will not suit. I am looking for a provider who will take $X per month in registration fees, and will: Alert me when there is any downtime. Promptly fix the issue Pay me a fee ($Y) whenever there is downtime. I want a significant, contractual reason for them to be diligent in their service. Free service for me is not enough.

  I'm looking for a way to open a given page in Google Chrome from the command line, with the following behaviour: If the given page is already open in a tab, navigate to that tab If the given page is not already open in a tab, open the page in a new tab and show that tab Currently when I open a URL from the command line (e.g. using "open http://godzillahaiku.tumblr.com" on Mac OS X), Chrome will always open the URL in a new tab. I end up with lots of duplicate tabs as a result, which is a minor annoyance. I'm looking for a solution that works on Mac OS X, but a non-OS specific solution would be preferable. I'd consider writing a Chrome extension for this if there's no existing solution.

• Chrome: Black Screen of Death

  I dont know when it started to happen. The screen will turn into full black when a page include javascript (I think so). I cannot open Youtube videos, but I can still see the source code and the pointer to find links and buttons and I can hear the sound of video. I have tried to clear my cache and reinstalled to the latest version, but nothing seems work. Moreover, I have disabled the Pepperflash Player as well, but it did not help. • How do companies know they've been hacked?

  With the news of Google and others getting hacked, I was wondering how companies find out, detect, and/or know they've been hacked in the first place? Sure, if they find a virus/trojan on user's computers or see a very high access rate to parts of their system that don't usually see much, if any, traffic. But, from what I've see in articles, the attack was pretty 'sophisticated', so I wouldn't imagine the hackers would make it so obvious of their hacking in the first place. Maybe someone can enlighten me on current detection schemes/heuristics. Thanks.

  I want to remove RC4 from Google Chrome and found the commandline option --cipher-suite-blacklist. However I wasn't able to figure out what the correct notation for RC4 is. Whatever I tried so far only brought the message: ERROR:ssl_config_service_manager_pref.cc(55)] Ignoring unrecognized or \ unparsable cipher suite: Even the names listed in ssl_cipher_suite_names.cc don't work. What should I enter to remove RC4 as a cipher for SSL/TLS? I'm working with some different versions of GNU/Linux and sometimes also with Windows. So it would be nice if the command-line argument would work under all OSes. • Can't see any YouTube videos

  I have a problem with watching YouTube videos. It says: "An error occurred, please try again later". I've tried loading different videos and that's what it says to all the videos I try to watch. I've tried using another browser, clearing cache + cookies etc, but none of that really worked out. My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium, I use Google Chrome as my browser. And the YouTube videos was able to be watched earlier. I suspect that it has something to do with the PC, since I've got YouTube working on my laptop earlier. Not sure if it still works on my laptop though. Hope I've given enough information for you to help me out with this problem. Feel free to ask if there's anything else you need to know. Anyone who can help me out?

• Gmail for Googleapps mail delivery issues

  I have a google apps domain running gmail. One of the owners of one of the email accounts is complaining that some emails don't get delivered to him. I sent him an email that did not get to its destination on one hand but I got no NDR on the other hand. I have already checked that the email was not on in his spam folder. The only thing that he has there is a forwarding rule that is also set up to leave the original in place. I am looking for any tools or ideas on how to debug this.

• AutoHotkey media button for the NextSong button on Pandora

  I tried doing the same thing that had been advised to do on the Play/pause pandora.com with a media key answer page. I simply replaced the XXX with 119 after running GetMediaKey - instead of 122 (it was same for me), which worked just fine for its play/pause purpose. I also replaced the YY with 11 since it was the appropriate (and next) tab. It does put the small, orange, dotted square around the next song button, but instead of going to the next song, it just acts like play/pause. Is there another modification required? Using Google Chrome in Windows 7 on an Alienware m14x r2.

  I usually do my work in Google Chrome (v36.0.1985.143), private browsing enabled. I use Firefox to browse Stack Exchange, in normal mode so that all my logins are persisted. Sometimes I accidentally open an SE question in Chrome, so I copy-paste the URL to Firefox and get on reading. I left the SE tab in Chrome open, and up-voted a question in Firefox. Normally, you immediately see other users' voting activity via socket event emitting (possibly Socket.IO, I don't know SE's back-end). I noticed that in my Chrome tab, I didn't see the upvote that I had cast in Firefox. I had to refresh to be able to see the vote count change. So, as the title of the question states: does private browsing prevent socket events?

• Can't delete keyboard shortcut set for a .ink file

  So, I installed the Chrome App Launcher on my PC (now on Win8.1) a few weeks ago, and, as I use it very often, I wanted to assign a keyboard shortcut for it. So, I right-clicked the icon on my desktop, and I assigned Ctrl+Alt+<. The problem is... I moved the shortcut to my taskbar, and suddenly noticed that when I wanted to write the "\" (on a Belgian keyboard), it launched the Chrome App Launcher, which is very annoying. I wanted to change it back, but I can't... I deleted the taskbar shortcut, but the keyboard shortcut still launches the App Launcher. I also tried creating a new shortcut with the same association, hoping that it would crush the existing one, but it didn't work. I searched on Google for similar issues, and I couldn't find any... x~x So... How can I delete this shortcut association..?

• Google Reader can read this RSS feed, why can't my RSS reader?

  I have a website that I would like to subscribe to via my RSS reader. The website itself doesn't publicize its RSS feed, however when I used Google Reader it was able to find one, and it works perfectly well. Google Reader cites http://www.stratfor.com/rss.xml as the address for the RSS feed. However, when I try to enter that feed, it says "Page not found". I suspect that this is because that file does exist on the website, but is forbidden; and that for some weird reason google reader has access to it. Is that the case? Anyways, I would really like my own RSS reader to be able to subscribe to it, because it has functionalities that Google reader does not. Besides, it intrigues me -- how come Google reader can read it, but other RSS reader cannot?

• Is it possible to use the IE10 App without making Internet Explorer the default browser?

  Windows 8 comes with two versions of Internet Explorer: the normal desktop version, which looks just like IE9, and the Modern UI version, which is a full-screen tablet-style app. By default, links opened in desktop mode open in desktop IE, and links opened in Modern UI apps open in the full-screen app. When you set a new default browser (like Google Chrome, which has a Modern UI mode now), you can no longer access IE10 in the Modern UI at all - the tile disappears from the start screen, and there's no way to manually invoke it. I don't use IE10 much, but I'd like to have access to it in Metro mode, because it's handy for testing things out. I don't want to have IE be my default browser though. Is there any way to get the IE10 "App" to show up without setting IE to be the default browser everywhere?

• DNS: domain2 points to domain1

  I have one domain ("domain1") that is set up with hosting and mail (hosted by Gmail Apps). This domain works perfectly. I want a second domain ("domain2") to forward to domain1, but I don't want to use "DNS Forwarding." I would like to have it act EXACTLY like domain1, so that domain2/whatever points to the same resource as domain1/whatever WITHOUT AN HTTP REDIRECT NOR BROWSER TRICKS LIKE FRAMES. I would also love to be able to send mail to "blah@domain2" and have it go to "blah@domain1". Can this be set up, and how? I am using GoDaddy as registrar and DNS host for both domains. GoDaddy is also the web host for domain1, and mail hosting is with Google Apps.

• Best memory-efficient web browser for Ubuntu?

  I've installed Ubuntu 10.10 on an old laptop with only 756 MB of RAM, Pentium M 1.6 processor. I'm using Google Chrome 11.0 (dev channel) for web browsing, and it appears to be using up most of my memory and processor time. Does anyone know of a better browser than Chrome on Ubuntu, for an older computer like mine? I'm new to Ubuntu, so there may also be tweaks I can make to my existing system to have it perform better. But right now it's pretty slow when I've got ~5-10 tabs open. Related question: memory-efficient web-browser
