  • AJAX file upload

    I have a control for uploading an image and above it is an image control. When User clicks 'Upload' button, image turns to an animated image displaying 'WAIT' message, after the image is uploaded, the image source changes to that image. I want to do this using simple AJAX, JAVASCRIPT (xmlHTTP objects) , ASP.NET, VB.NET. Can anyone help me out??? Don't wanna use iframe or flash besides above four.

  • observing multiple select menus with prototype

    Hi, I want to observe multiple select menus and respond to their changes using prototype but only the first menu seems to be observed. This is my code: $('product_options').select('select').invoke("observe","change",optchange); If there are - for example - 3 selects within product_options then it only observes the first, i thought it might be because of invoke so i then tried this: $('product_options').select('select').each(function(sel){ $(sel).observe("change",optchange); }); Still doesnt work though, any ideas whats wrong?

    Hi, I am planning to write a generic python module for installing a package. This script should retrieve the module from a remote machine or locally and install it on a given host and user. However, there needs to be changes made to the package files based on the host, user and given environment. My approach is to use XML to describe changes to be made to package files based on environment. It will first extract the package to the user directory and then using an xml configuration file, it should replace the file values in the package directory.   • How can I view the history on the trunk from my branch

    View History on an file in a branch show only changes since the branch. I need to go back further -- like how created the file in the first place. I've also tried Sidekicks, and it doesn't seem to show history from before the branch either. Short of hunting down the file in the trunk manually, is there a way to view a file's history from the time it was added to now following the path in the branch?

    I'm looking for the fastest, least memory consuming, stand alone storage method available for large amounts of data for my C# app. My initial thoughts: Sql: no. not stand alone XML in flat file: no. takes too long to parse large amounts of data Other Options? Basically what i'm looking for, is a way that i can load with my applications load, keep all the data in my app, and when the data in my app changes just update the storage location.

    POSTGRESQL 8.4.3 - i created a function with this signature CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION logcountforlasthour() RETURNS SETOF record AS realised i wanted to change it to this CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION logcountforlasthour() RETURNS TABLE(ip bigint, count bigint) record AS but when i apply that change in the query tool it isnt accepted or rather it is accepted, there is no syntax error, but the text of the function has not been changed. even if i run "DROP FUNCTION logcountforlasthour()" between edits the old syntax comes back if i edit the body of the function, thats fine, it changes but not the signature is there something i'm missing thanks

  • Is it possible to Load hbm.xml info at app startup instead of via an embedded resource?

    All of the NHibernate examples I've see that use hbm files have the hbm.xml file set as an embedded resource with "do not copy" chosen in the file properties. This means that if a database column name were to change in production, the app would have to be recompiled with the changes in the hbm.xml file during build time. Is there any way to make NHibernate load the hbm.xml files from the file system at application startup instead of using an embedded version?

  • Problem with modifying a page with ajax, and the browser keeping the unmodified page in cache.

    Hey there, I have a situation where my page loads some information from a database, which is then modified through AJAX. I click a link to another page, then use the 'back' button to return to the original page. The changes to the page through AJAX I made before don't appear, because the browser has the unchanged page stored in the cache. Is there a way of fixing this without setting the page not to cache at all? Thanks :)

  • WPF: Notify visualParent when its children changed their size

    I have FrameworkElement, for example Grid, that has children(Cells, implemented in another control). When main Window changes size, i handle sizeChanged in Grid at first, and after that in some of its children. How can i get notify that all children sizeChanged events finished processing? Of course, i can raise other event in child sizeChanged and increase some counter, but for some reasons it is not the best decision. Can anyone recommend something? Thanks!

    dear experts, This question is an extension of this question I asked. I have a std::vector vec_B.which stores instances of class Foo. The order of elements in this vector changes in the code. Now, I want to access the value of the current "last element" or current 'nth' element of the vector. If I use the code below to get the last element using getLastFoo() method, it doesn't return the correct value. For example, to begin with the last element of the vector has Foo.getNumber() = 9. After sorting it in descending order of num, for the last element, Foo.getNumber() = 0. But with the code below, it still returns 9.. that means it is still pointing to the original element that was the last element.   • How do I set a resource file to non-embedded

    In Visual studio 2008 is it possible to have a resource file that is included as a separate file after compilation rather than as an embedded resource. This is to enable small changes to be rolled out more easily. I have tried build options of Resource, None, Compile and also copy local on and off for most of these. However when ever I try access the resource at run time I get a cannot find resource exception. Is this actually possible or am I wasting my time?

Or should the models be singletons that are dependency injected into any component that requires them? Or should a new model instance be created for each component that needs one, in which case events would be used to propagate changes across model instances of the same class?
