• ASP.NET MVC : how do I return 304 "Not Modified" status?

  ASP.NET MVC 3.0, IIS 7, .NET 4 I have an action that returns data that seldom changes (almost static). Is there an easy way to: return 304 "Not Modified" from action; include "Last-Modified" time stamp in the response. I use return Content('my data'); for action result. Do a merge with the 'target origin' Change the origin repo in my config file to the 'target origin' Also, if my local repo is not entirely identical to the new origin (say, I've resolved some merge conflicts in my favor), will these changes be pushed to the new origin when I do a git push, or will only commits made after the change of origin get pushed?

  On github, after I fork a project, modify it, then submit my pull request, it seems that I have to delete and re-fork in order to stay current with any changes made after my pull request is honored. It seems tedious to have to keep deleting the repo to keep it current. Is there some way to keep it current without deleting and re-forking?

However, the text's and color's change is reflected after the calculation is executed (and before the animation begins) however I want to reflect the changes immediately before calculation (as you guess it is a waiting text) How can I achieve this?

I am wondering if there is local version control/snapshots for emacs independent of VC? let me clarify: every time I save buffer, I would like to be able to keep track of changes of each save in session. Apparently when you write changes to a database project, dropped objects are only commented out instead of deleting the file. I would like to remove all of these commented out files from the project. Is is possible to find all files which start with /* and end with */?

  Is there anything that stops the DateTime AddDays() method that doesn't run within a while loop. Its not as easy as: if(cookiesArePresent) { bool isDifferent = HttpContext.Current.Response.Cookies[".ASPXANONYMOUS"].value == HttpContext.Current.Response.Cookies[".ASPXANONYMOUS"].value; } But I read that changing the Response.Cookies changes the Request.Cookies. That would mean they are always the same if HttpContext.Current.Response.Cookies[".ASPXANONYMOUS"] was changed. • Can Visual Studio manage function prototypes for me in C++ header files?

  In C++, the common practice is to declare functions in header files and define them in cpp files. This leads to always having two copies of every function's prototype. Then whenever I want to change a function's name/return value/parameter, I have to manually change it in both files. • Debugging on the production server in Rails

  how do you effectively debug on live server in rails, whether on a beta/production server? I tried modifying the file directly on the server, and restarting the app, but the changes does not seem to take effect, or takes a long time to (caching?) I also tried to do "script/server production" locally, but that is very slow The other option is to code and deploy, but that is very inefficient. Anyone has any insights as to how they do this efficiently?
