  When I've got a template with certain type parameters, is it allowed for a function to return an object of this same template, but with different types? • log (1-var) operation in C

  I am trying to code this algorithm. I am stuck in the part of log((1.0-u)/u))/beta; As I understand, I can not get the result of this in C, as it will always return me with negative value log (returning imaginary value). Tried to print the result of log(1-5) for instance, it gives me with Nan. How can I get the result of double x = (alpha - log((1.0-u)/u))/beta then? Would appreciate for any pointers to solve this problem. Thank you

When parsing XML with jquery, how can i pass the current node from each() iteration to another function that will do some stuff until something is reached and then go back to the previous function (passing along the current node from this function back to the first function)?   How is it possible to randomly choose a number from a list with n elements, n time without picking the same element of the list twice.   I have a count register, which is made up of two 32-bit unsigned integers, one for the higher 32 bits of the value (most significant word), and other for the lower 32 bits of the value (least significant word). What is the best way in C to combine these two 32-bit unsigned integers and then display as a large number? In specific: leastSignificantWord = 4294967295; //2^32-1 printf("Counter: %u%u", mostSignificantWord,leastSignificantWord); This would print fine. When the number is incremented to 4294967296, I have it so the leastSignificantWord wipes to 0, and mostSignificantWord (0 initially) is now 1. The whole counter should now read 4294967296, but right now it just reads 10, because I'm just concatenating 1 from mostSignificantWord and 0 from leastSignificantWord. How should I make it display 4294967296 instead of 10?

• How do I get the output from a Perl pipe as it becomes available?

  The following code is working sort of fine: open( PIPE, '-|', 'ant' ); for( <PIPE> ) { print; } However, it doesn't do what I want. Since the Ant build can take 5 minutes, I would like to see the output line by line. Instead, I'm getting the entire input at the end of the process. Looking at it with the Perl debugger, Perl waits at the 'for' statement, until Ant terminates. Why is that?

• Visual studio 2010 doesn't make the changes when i do a build/compile

  Ok so i change some code, re-build it and then, say for arguments sake i had a print statement outputting 'test2', well if i change it to 'test3' its still re-producing the old code 'test2'. Ive deleted the debug folder and rebuilt but no good. Then randomly about 10 builds later it will catch up. Ive also closed VS2010 and then re-opened the project but that doesnt help. What can i do as i need to see the changes asap? ps it's definitely the correct file

• How can I access the row index numbers on a data frame in R?

  I have a data frame that was sampled from another data frame. As a result, when I print the output of the data frame, I get a jumble of numbers on the left hand side of the data frame. The original data frame was nicely numbered from 1,2,3,4,5, and so on. But my new data frame is numbered 5,15,3,65, etc on the left hand side. Is there a way I can access the row index information for a data frame in R? thank you!

  Hello, I've searched around online, but can't find the answer to my question. What I want to do is run a command in pythong, using the subprocess module, and store the output in a variable. However, I do not want the command's output to be printed to the terminal. For this code: def storels(): a = subprocess.Popen("ls",shell=True) storels() I get the directory listing in the terminal, instead of having it stored in a. I've also tried def storels(): subprocess.Popen("ls > tmp",shell=True) a = open("./tmp") [Rest of Code] storels() This also prints the output of ls to my terminal. I've even tried this command with the somewhat dated os.system method, since running "ls tmp" in the terminal doesn't print ls to the terminal at all, but stores it in tmp. However, the same thing happens. I'm using python 2.6. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

  I am printing a menu using UL, the trouble is the order that is generated by my script is ignored because im printing the LI one after the other and they're spanning three across. So the order is 1 , 2 , 3 as opposed to 1 2 3 To counteract this i wanted to split my single UL into three that way the order would be maintained.   I'm trying to port an application from using HAL to using pure udev. It is written in python and will use the gudev library, though I would love to see examples in any language. • PHP from database and query

  I have a table: id, affiliate Each time somebody clicks a link, a new row is inserted, ID being the ID of the page, and affiliate being the ID of the affiliate. For example: Page ID: 9 Affiliate ID: 1 Page ID: 9 Affiliate ID: 2 Page ID: 9 Affiliate ID: 3 I only have 3 affiliates. I want to select this information, and group them by affiliate, for the ID. I have tried this query: SELECT COUNT(*) FROM table WHERE id = '9' GROUP BY affiliate It works fine when I do it in php my admin, how do I get the info in PHP? I have tried: $q = mysql_query("SELECT COUNT(*) FROM table WHERE id = '" . $id . "' GROUP BY affiliate"); $r = mysql_fetch_array($q); When trying to print the data onto the page, I am only getting one result. Do I need to use a foreach/while loop to get all 3? How would I go about doing this? Thank you!
