• Android Layout: Why don't the TextView and a ToggleButton align

  I'm trying to put a TextView and a ToggleButton in a table row, however, they don't seem to align (The top of the button starts about 10px below the top of the textview even though the height each element is the same. • emacs windows, distribute the width through the frame

  I used once a very nice emacs function that set all my windows (emacs windows, not frames) width evenly. If you open emacs and do C-x 3 twice in a row, you get three vertical windows. Then running the function I am looking for makes the width of these windows the same. I can't for the life of me find this function again. Wouldn't someone help me to: find the name of the function give me the keyboard shortcut if any tell me what I should have done to find the answer by myself Thanks!

  I'm developing an ETL process, and need a bridge table for a one-to-many relationship between a fact table and a dimension table (MySQL database). There is a limited number of combinations (some thousands), so I want to re-use group keys from the bridge table to to limit the size. Any group of dimensions belonging to a fact row will consist of a number of dimension keys (1 to around 15), assigned to a unique group key, as below: group_key | dimension_key ----------------------- 1 | 1 1 | 3 1 | 4 2 | 1 2 | 2 2 | 3 3 | 1 3 | 4 How do I go about retrieving the unique group key for the dimensions 1,3,4 (ie. 1).

• How do I name an array key with a key inside the array

  I have some data, yes, data. This data came from a MySQL query and it will always contain 4 items, always. I want to cache that data in an array table for use later within a web page but I want to keep the keys from the query and separate out each grouping within a multidimensional array. However to save time iterating through the array each time I want to find a given group of data, I want to call the keys of the first array the same as the ID key which is always the first key within each four items. At the minute I'm using this code: function mysql_fetch_full_result_array($result) { $table_result=array(); $r=0; while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)){ $arr_row=array(); $c=0; while ($c < mysql_num_fields($result)) { $col = mysql_fetch_field($result, $c); $arr_row[$col -> name] = $row[$col -> name]; $c++; } $table_result[$r] = $arr_row; $r++; } return $table_result; } I'm currently testing this using 3 unique users, so I'm getting three rows back from the query and the data from this function ends up in the format: [0]=> . . I know I need another loop but I'm struggling to work out how to write it.

  Hi guys! I have in a ListView with a ContextMenu, it has one CheckBox (the CheckBox has android:focusable="false") and one TextView per row, but you can hide the TextView in the preferences menu. After doing that, the CheckBox wasnt registering the ContextMenu, so of course, why not registerForContextMenu(cb) and unregisterForContextMenu(getListView())? Yes, i did that, but then, when when i call the delete command of onContextItemSelected, the app crashs.   I wish to specify a specific command timeout (or LOCK_TIMEOUT) for an SQL and once this time out is reached an exception (or alert) has to be raised in nHibernate. I m having a ID column in that table. Now suppose after inserting this record the value of the ID corresponding to this record is 100. Now how this 100 value came to know? Does the previous value of ID ie 99 (Suppose) is stored somewhere in some variable/file in the ORM layer or before inserting this value a query was fired to know about the last inserted value or database is itself doing that or anything else???

  Hello everybody, I'm encountering a huge problem, I have tried everything I could, but I didn't find any solution. I have a listBox, with a DataTemplate. I want to use the events MouseLeftButtonDown and MouseLeftButtonUp to check the item selected is the same the user clicked on. The problem is the event MouseLeftButtonUp is recognized but not the event MouseLeftButtonDown. • How do I do automatic data serialization of data objects in Haskell

  One of the huge benefits in languages that have some sort of reflection/introspecition is that objects can be automatically constructed from a variety of sources. For example in Java I can use the same objects for persisting to a db (with Hibernate) serializing to XML (with JAXB) or serializing to JSON (json-lib). You can do the same in Ruby and Python also usually following some simple rules for properties or annotations for Java. Thus I don't need lots "Domain Transfer Objects". I can concentrate on the domain I am working in. It seems in very strict FP like Haskell and Ocaml this is not possible. Particularly Haskell. The only thing I have seen is doing some sort of preprocessing or meta-programming (ocaml). Is it just accepted that you have to do all the transformations from the bottom upwards? In other words you have to do lot of boring work to turn a data type in haskell into JSON/XML/DB Row object and back again into a data object.

• Linq to Entities, checking for specific foreign key id?

  I am trying to get rows where the foreign key ParentID == 0, and this is what I am trying but I get a NotSupportedException because it can't translate the ArrayIndex [0]: IQueryable<ApplicationSectionNode> topLevelNodeQuery = from n in uacEntitiesContext.ApplicationSectionNodeSet where (int)n.Parent.EntityKey.EntityKeyValues[0].Value == 0 orderby n.Sequence select n; So I need to pull that ArrayIndex out of the query so that the runtime can successfully translate the query. I'm not sure how to do that though. How does one query a specific object via it's primary key or set of objects via foreign key? Edit: Note that there is not actually a row in the table with NodeId == 0, the 0 is a magic value(not my idea) to indicate top level nodes. So I can't do n.Parent.NodeId == 0

• Removing whitespace between HTML elements when using line breaks

  I have a page with a row of about 10 imgs. For readability of the HTML, I want to put a linebreak in between each img tag, but doing so renders whitespace between the images, which I do not want. Is there anything I can do other than break in the middle of the tags rather than between them? Edit: Here is a screenshot of what I have so far. I would like the book spine images to display in random combinations, using PHP. This is why I need separate img tags.

When I click on a country(row), it has to push the same view controller's view with cities under that country. I need to see the slide animation, which we usally get while pushing views in navigator. Is it possible to use the pushViewController for the same view controller by calling the tableView reloadData with city data (This should happen when country is selected) ?   Hi Guys, I'm just starting out and I'm looking for an easy way to sum a simple array. I've read into apple developer site on key value coding and I don't understand how to apply that to my array or if that's the appropriate way to sum this. My stumbling block with the key value coding is the .keypathToProperty - I can sort of understand that you need a further reference in a 2D array but they don't show the array code, only the keypath to the title of the row so I can't figure it out yet.   Ok, so I have this singleton object and in it is an array that needs to be shown in a tableview. • iPhone - finding items in current entity that share related item

  G'day Folks My core data driven app has an Events entity, essentially a list of times & venues, with a related Acts entity, the names & bios of the acts appearing at those events. I have a table view that shows the event time & venue (as a table section with 1 row), the act name & act bio that works nicely. If that act is appearing at more than one event I'd like to include another table section that lists those events. I think could get that with event.act.events except that it would include the event I'm currently displaying. Can anyone suggest how to get the data I want & exclude the current record? • nHibernate one-to-many inserts but doesnt update

  Instead of getting into code, I have a simple question. Default behavior for a simple one-to-many is that it inserts the child record then updates the foreign key column with the parent key. Has anyone ever had a one-to-many where the child object gets inserted but not updated resulting in a row in my table with a null in the foreign key column? I want the default behaviour for a standard one-to-many. I don't want to have to add the parent as a property to the child. Thanks.

We use the following Oracle trigger snippet to determine what to do with the Surrogate key on insert: 'IF :NEW.SurrogateKey IS NULL THEN SELECT SurrogateKey_SEQ.NEXTVAL INTO :NEW.SurrogateKey FROM DUAL; END IF;' If the supplied surrogate key is null then get a value from the nominated sequence, else pass the supplied surrogate key through to the row. I can't seem to find an easy way to do this is T-SQL. There are all sorts of approaches, but none of which use the notion of a sequence generator like Oracle and other SQL-92 compliant DBs do. Anybody know of a really efficient way to do this in SQL Server T-SQL? BTW we're using SQL Server 2008 if that's any help. TIA, Paolo

• How to return focus from GridView or DataGrid to other control on the page

  I Want to know how to focus to control after completing tab navigation for the grid view. I have certain controls in my page and GridView/DataGrid as last control, when I navigate (Tab key navigation) on my page. I can navigate from first control to GridView but when I finish all editable items in grid the tab control goes to browser address bar. I need this should focus to again first control on the page. My question is how can I do this? If it is an ordinary controls then I can use (on key down) attribute of the same.. here how can I get access to the last row's last column on the grid view.
