• Nginx no static files after update

  First, i must say that i am not expert in server administration, my site was setup by hosting admins (that i cannot contact anymore). Few days ago, i updated Nginx to latest version (admin told me that it is safe to do). But after that, my site serves only html content, no CSS, images, JS. If i try to open some image i get message "Wellcome to Nginx" (same thin if i try to open static.mysitedomain.com). More details: Site has static. subdomain, but static files are in same directory as they used to be before setting up static files. I was googling for some solutions, i tried to change something in /etc/nginx/, but no luck. I feel that this is some minor configuration problem, any ideas? • Permission forbidden on localhost with apache2

  Here is what I am trying to do. I tried to add another folder to apache and I get the following error when trying to acces testing/index.html. The idea is that I would like to have for every customer a folder like /home/neagoe/Work/InterWebs/Projects/[PROJECT NAME]/CustomerProjects/website/dist. Forbidden You don't have permission to access /index.html on this server. • Need help identiying a nasty rootkit in Windows

  I have a nasty rootkit that not tools seem to be able to idenity. I know for sure it's a rootkit, but I can figure out which rootkit it is. Here's what I gathered so far: It creates multiple copies of itself in %HOME%\Local Settings\Temp with names like Q.EXE, IAJARZ.exe, etc., and install them as hidden services. These EXE have SysInternals identifiers in them so they're definitely rootkits. It hooked very deep in the system, including file read/write, security policies, registry read/write, and possibly WinSock/TCP/IP. When going to Sophos.com to download their software, the rootkit inject something called Microsoft Ajax Tootkit into the page, which injects code into the email submission form in order to redirect it. (EDIT: I might have panicked. Looks like Sophos does use an AJAZ email form, their form is just broken on Chrome so it looked like a mail form injection attack, the link is http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/virus-removal-tool/download.aspx ) Super-Antispyware found a lot of spyware cookies, in the name of .kaspersky.2o7.net, etc. (just chedk 2o7.net, looks like it's a legit ad company) I tried comparing DNS lookup from the infected systems and from system in other physical locations, no DNS redirections it seems. I used dd to copy the MBR and compared it with the MBR provided by ms-sys package, no differences so it's not infecting MBR. No antivirus or rootkit scanner be able to identify it. Most of them can't even find it. I tried scanning, in-situ (normal mode), in safe mode, and boot to linux live CD. Scanners used: Avast, Sophos anti rootkit, Kasersky TDSSKiller, GMER, RootkitRevealer, and many others. Kaspersky reported some unsigned system files that ought to be signed (e.g. tcpip.sys), and reported a number of MD5 mismatches. But otherwise couldn't identify anything based on signature. When running Sysinternal RootkitRevealer and Sophos AntiRootkit, CPU usage goes up to 100% and gets stucked. The Rootkit is blocking them. When trying running/installing HiJackThis, RootkitRevealer and some other scanners, it tells me system security policy prevent running/installing it. The list of malicious acitivities go on and on. here's a sample of logs from all my scans. In particular, aswSnx.SYS, apnenfno.sys and PROCMON20.SYS has a huge number of hooks. It's hard to tell if the rootkit replaced legit program files like aswSnx.SYS (from Avast) and PROCMON20.SYS (from Sysinternal Process Monitor). I can't find whether apnenfno.sys is from a legit program. Help to identify it is appreciated.   I'm running a Proxmox server on a single IP address, that will dispatch HTTP requests to containers depending on the requested host. I am using nginx on the Proxmox side to listen to HTTP requests and I am using the proxy_pass directive in my different server blocks to dispatch requests according to the server_name. My containers run on Ubuntu and are also running a nginx instance. I have tried many other things, double checked my settings and all seems fine. So I'm wondering whether I am not expecting nginx's cache to do something it's not meant to...? Basically, I thought that if one of my static files in my container was updated, the cache in my reverse proxy would be invalidated and my browser would get the new version of the file when it requests it... But I now have the sentiment I misunderstood many things. Of all things, I now wonder how nginx on the server can know about a file in the container has changed? I have seen a directive proxy_header_pass (or something alike), should I use this to let the nginx instance from the container somehow inform the one in Proxmox about updated files? Is this expectation just a dream, or can I do it with nginx on my current architecture?

  Remember when 11g first came out and we had "invisible indexes"?  It seemed like a confusing feature - indexes that would be maintained by modifications (hence slowing them down), but would not be used by queries (hence never speeding them up).  But - after you looked at them a while, you could see how they can be useful.  For example - to add an index in a running production system, an index used by the next version of the code to be introduced later that week - but not tested against the queries in version one of the application in place now.  We all know that when you add an index - one of three things can happen - a given query will go much faster, it won't affect a given query at all, or... It will make some untested query go much much slower than it used to.  So - invisible indexes allowed us to modify the schema in a 'safe' manner - hiding the change until we were ready for it.Invisible columns accomplish the same thing - the ability to introduce a change while minimizing any negative side effects of that change.  Normally when you add a column to a table - any program with a SELECT * would start seeing that column, and programs with an INSERT INTO T VALUES (...) would pretty much immediately break (an INSERT without a list of columns in it).  Now we can add a column to a table in an invisible fashion, the column will not show up in a DESCRIBE command in SQL*Plus, it will not be returned with a SELECT *, it will not be considered in an INSERT INTO T VALUES statement.  It can be accessed by any query that asks for it, it can be populated by an INSERT statement that references it, but you won't see it otherwise.For example, let's start with a simple two column table:ops$tkyte%ORA12CR1> create table t  2  ( x int,  3    y int  4  )  5  /Table created.ops$tkyte%ORA12CR1> insert into t values ( 1, 2 );1 row created.Now, we will add an invisible column to it:ops$tkyte%ORA12CR1> alter table t add                     ( z int INVISIBLE );Table altered.Notice that a DESCRIBE will not show us this column:ops$tkyte%ORA12CR1> desc t Name              Null?    Type ----------------- -------- ------------ X                          NUMBER(38) Y                          NUMBER(38)and existing inserts are unaffected by it:ops$tkyte%ORA12CR1> insert into t values ( 3, 4 );1 row created.A SELECT * won't see it either:ops$tkyte%ORA12CR1> select * from t;         X          Y---------- ----------         1          2         3          4But we have full access to it (in well written programs! However, after setting up hgwebdir.cgi through apache, I am unable to do an hg push to the only repo currently being hosted. If I set the the default value in the [paths] section of the clones hgrc file to the local filepath on the server, the push works fine, but if I switch it to use the url, I get the error every time. Some possible quirks in how I've set this up... hgwebdir.cgi is sitting in /var/www/cgi-bin and the repo is a child of /opt/hg. I turned off suexec as well, and this doesn't seem to clear up the issue. The only line I added in the apache config to get hgwebdir running is: ScriptAlias /hg "/var/www/cgi-bin/hgwebdir.cgi" The hgweb.config is also in /var/www/cgi-bin and it's contents are: [collections] /opt/hg = /opt/hg [trusted] users = * [web] baseurl = /hg push_ssl = false allow_push = * The repo browser is working fine, it's just push that doesn't work. Apache error_log doesn't have anything in about this error at all.

  Hello, I've been tasked with designing a very simple SSO (single sign-on) process. My employer has specified that it should be implimented in SAML. I'd like to create messages that are absolutely as simple as possible while confirming to the SAML spec. I'd be really grateful if some of you would look at my request and response messages and tell me if they make sense for my purpose, if they include anything that doesn't need to be there, and if they are missing anything that does need to be there. Addionally, I'd like to know where in the response I should put additional information about the subject; in particular, the subject's email address. The interaction needs to work as follows: 1) User requests service from service provider at this point, the service provider knows nothing about the user. 2) Service provider requests authentication for user from identity provider 3) User is authenticated/registered by identity provider 4) Identity provider responds to Service provider with authentication success message, PLUS user's email address. • iPhone UIWebView local resources using Javascript and handling onorientationChange

  I'm trying to server HTML Javascript and CSS content from an iPhone application's local resources, and I'm having trouble handling onOrientationChange events and including external Javascript. I seem to be able to link in CSS properly but not javascript. I'm trying to use the following example of handling onOrientationChange (How to build an iPhone website) but I'm serving the webpage from my app's NSBundle mainBundle. • Why are these divs not aligned and space between?

  Why isnt everything aligned? No yellow should be visible and no orange should be visible except for the right side and bottom left where theres space for another image. Basically my images are pretty much aligned to the center (i have other pics not in this example which is easier to see). However in this case when i have 150px height image the 150 width seems start lower. • Python Mechanize unable to avoid redirect when Post

  I am trying to crawl a site using mechanize. The site provides search results in different pages. When posting to get the next set of results, something is wrong and the server redirects me to the first page, asking mechanize to update the SearchSession Cookie. I have been debugging the requests using Firefox and they look quite the same, and I am unable to find the problem. Any suggestion? • Problem with URL encoded parameters in URL view helper

  So my problem is kinda weird, it only occurs when I test the application offline (on my PC with WampServer), the same code works 100% correctly online. But offline with WampServer I click on the link and get 404 error like this: Not Found The requested URL /public/admin/index/approve-photo/id/1/ret/admin/index/photos was not found on this server. What the hell? I'm using the latest version of WampServer (WampServer 2.0i [11/07/09]). Everything else works. • jQuery dynamic field classes not being assigned as desired.

  Hello, I'm working on a fancy login page with 4 unique states attributed through classes for each field (normal, focus, active-on, active-off). Normal is the default style. Focus is the focus style when nothing is typed. Active-on is the focus style when something has been typed. Active-off is for field that have user text in them, but are not focused right now. Here's a demo to help you understand what I'm doing: http://www.controlstack.com/login My JS is working almost correctly (thanks to some folks on this site), except in 2 cases: If I enter something in the username field, then tab over to the password field, it does not add the ".focus" class to the password field. If I blur out of the username field, then focus back on it, enter a few characters, then delete them, it does not add the ".focus" field.
