  • HOWTO: Deserialize WCF message using OperationContract

    - by Stefan
Hi, I succeeded in building a WCF client generated by svcutil.exe from the WSDL. Using the generated client proxy class I can call the web service of an external service supplier. I also succeeded in coding a message inspector, as I need to log both raw XML request and response as full SOAP message to the database. For an emergency szenario I also need to be able to "import" a raw XML response. I found many hints on using XMLSerializer or deserializing WCF messages based on the message contract. But how can I deserialize a raw XML response based on an operation contract? For a first test I use one of the logged raw responses, save it to a file and now try to deserialize it to the response type as generated in the client proxy. Somehow I must succeed in calling DeserializeReply() from class ClientOperation. But how to get there? I happily acced any help as I'm quite new to WCF... TIA, Stefan

  • Sending the variable's content to my mailbox in Python?

    - by brilliant
I have asked this question here about a Python command that fetches a URL of a web page and stores it in a variable. The first thing that I wanted to know then was whether or not the variable in this code contains the HTML code of a web-page: from google.appengine.api import urlfetch url = "http://www.google.com/" result = urlfetch.fetch(url) if result.status_code == 200: doSomethingWithResult(result.content) The answer that I received was "yes", i.e. the variable "result" in the code did contain the HTML code of a web page, and the programmer who was answering said that I needed to "check the Content-Type header and verify that it's either text/html or application/xhtml+xml". I've looked through several Python tutorials, but couldn't find anything about headers. So my question is where is this Content-Type header located and how can I check it? Could I send the content of that variable directly to my mailbox? Here is where I got this code. It's on Google App Engines.

  • Inserting multiple types into an SQLite database with Python

    - by mankoff
I'm trying to create an SQLite 3 database from Python. I have a few types I'd like to insert into each record: A float, and then 3 groups of n floats, currently a tuple but could be an array or list.. I'm not well-enough versed in Python to understand all the differences. My problem is the INSERT statement. DAS = 12345 lats = (42,43,44,45) lons = (10,11,12,13) times = (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) import sqlite3 connection = sqlite3.connect("test.db") cursor = connection.cursor() cursor.execute( "create table foo(DAS LONG PRIMARY KEY,lats real(4),lons real(4), times real(9) )" ) I'm not sure what comes next. Something along the lines of: cmd = 'INSERT into foo values (?,?,?,?), ..." cursor.execute(cmd) How should I best build the SQL insert command given this data?

  • Entity Framework doesn't like 0..1 to * relationships.

    - by Orion Adrian
I have a database framework where I have two tables. The first table has a single column that is an identity and primary key. The second table contains two columns. One is a nvarchar primary key and the other is a nullable foreign key to the first table. On the default import of the database I get the following error: Condition cannot be specified for Column member 'ForeignKeyId' because it is marked with a 'Computed' or 'Identity' StoreGeneratedPattern. where ForeignKeyId is the second foreign key reference in the second table. Is this just something the entity model doesn't do? Or am I missing something?

  • Synchronising local and remote DB

    - by nico
Hi everyone, I have a general question about DB synchronisation. So, I'm developing a website locally (PHP + MySQL) and I would like to be able to synchronise at least the structure (and maybe the contents) of the two DB when one of the two is changed (normally I would change the local copy). Right now what I'm doing is to use mysqldump to dump the modified tables and then import them in the remote DB or do it by hand if the changes are minimal. However I find this tedious and error-prone. For the PHP I'm currently using Quanta+ which has the handy feature of finding files that have changed and just upload those. Is there something similar for MySQL? Otherwise how do you keep your DBs synchronised? Thanks nico PS: I'm sorry if this was already asked, I saw other questions that deal with similar topics, but couldn't really find an answer.

  • Why can't my main class see the array in my calender class

    - by Rocky Celltick Eadie
    This is a homework problem. I'm already 5 days late and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.. this is my 1st semester in Java and my first post on this site Here is the assignment.. Create a class called Calendar. The class should contain a variable called events that is a String array. The array should be created to hold 5 elements. Use a constant value to specify the array size. Do not hard code the array size. Initialize the array in the class constructor so that each element contains the string “ – No event planned – “. The class should contain a method called CreateEvent. This method should accept a String argument that contains a one-word user event and an integer argument that represents the day of the week. Monday should be represented by the number 1 and Friday should be represented by the number 5. Populate the events array with the event info passed into the method. Although the user will input one-word events, each event string should prepend the following string to each event: event_dayAppoinment: (where event_day is the day of the week) For example, if the user enters 1 and “doctor” , the first array element should read: Monday Appointment: doctor If the user enters 2 and “PTA” , the second array element should read: Tuesday Appointment: PTA Write a driver program (in a separate class) that creates and calls your Calendar class. Then use a loop to gather user input. Ask for the day (as an integer) and then ask for the event (as a one word string). Pass the integer and string to the Calendar object’s CreateEvent method. The user should be able enter 0 – 5 events. If the user enters -1, the loop should exit and your application should print out all the events in a tabular format. Your program should not allow the user to enter invalid values for the day of the week. Any input other than 1 – 5 or -1 for the day of the week would be considered invalid. Notes: When obtaining an integer from the user, you will need to use the nextInt() method on your Scanner object. When obtaining a string from a user, you will need to use the next() method on your Scanner object. Here is my code so far.. //DRIVER CLASS /** * * @author Rocky */ //imports scanner import java.util.Scanner; //begin class driver public class driver { /** * @paramargs the command line arguments */ //begin main method public static void main(String[] args) { //initiates scanner Scanner userInput = new Scanner (System.in); //declare variables int dayOfWeek; String userEvent; //creates object for calender class calendercalenderObject = new calender(); //user prompt System.out.println("Enter day of week for your event in the following format:"); System.out.println("Enter 1 for Monday"); System.out.println("Enter 2 for Tuesday"); System.out.println("Enter 3 for Wednsday"); System.out.println("Enter 4 for Thursday"); System.out.println("Enter 5 for Friday"); System.out.println("Enter -1 to quit"); //collect user input dayOfWeek = userInput.nextInt(); //user prompt System.out.println("Please type in the name of your event"); //collect user input userEvent = userInput.next(); //begin while loop while (dayOfWeek != -1) { //test for valid day of week if ((dayOfWeek>=1) && (dayOfWeek<=5)){ //calls createEvent method in calender class and passes 2 variables calenderObject.createEvent(userEvent,dayOfWeek); } else { //error message System.out.println("You have entered an invalid number"); //user prompts System.out.println("Press -1 to quit or enter another day"); System.out.println("Enter 1 for Monday"); System.out.println("Enter 2 for Tuesday"); System.out.println("Enter 3 for Wednsday"); System.out.println("Enter 4 for Thursday"); System.out.println("Enter 5 for Friday"); System.out.println("Enter -1 to quit"); //collect user input dayOfWeek = userInput.nextInt(); //end data validity test } //end while loop } //prints array to screen int i=0; for (i=0;i<events.length;i++){ System.out.println(events[i]); } //end main method } } /** * * @author Rocky */ //imports scanner import java.util.Scanner; //begin calender class public class calender { //creates events array String[] events = new String[5]; //begin calender class constructor public calender() { //Initializes array String[] events = {"-No event planned-","-No event planned-","-No event planned-","-No event planned-","-No event planned-"}; //end calender class constructor } //begin createEvent method public String[] createEvent (String userEvent, int dayOfWeek){ //Start switch test switch (dayOfWeek){ case 1: events[0] = ("Monday Appoinment:") + userEvent; break; case 2: events[1] = ("Tuesday Appoinment:") + userEvent; break; case 3: events[2] = ("WednsdayAppoinment:") + userEvent; break; case 4: events[3] = ("Thursday Appoinment:") + userEvent; break; case 5: events[4] = ("Friday Appoinment:") + userEvent; break; default: break; //End switch test } //returns events array return events; //end create event method } //end calender class }

  • Find workspace location using ANT

    - by ThunderChunky_SF
I'm working on a build script in the Flash Builder version of Eclipse. This build script needs to import launch configuration .launch files into the user's workspace. However there doesn't seem to be an available ANT var for determining the workspace location. While stepping through the available vars with intellisense I noticed that ${osgi.instance.area} does point to my current workspace but when I tried to echo it back in a running ant script it just spat out "${osgi.instance.area}" and not the path. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

  • TortoiseSVN shows red ! decorator for folder, but no files within it are marked with !

    - by Clay Nichols
I'm new to SVN. I'm using the latest version (svn 1.6.9, TortoiseSVN 1.6.7.18415). Some folders who a red exclamation point next to them. If I drill down, I find a sub folder with ! as well but no files within that are marked with ! (all are either a green checkmark or no icon (because they are Ignored (like .exe files) . What I've tried: Cleanup {reported success} Add {reports nothing to add. All files either under version control has been ignored per the .ignore property. Commit {succeeds} SVNupdate {succeeds} Restarted computer. Some oddities: -I had a bunch of CVS folders (these files were copied over from a PC that was using CVS but we don't need that version history so I didn't import it into SVN). I deleted those CVS\ folders and they are showing up (as unversioned files) when I CheckIn. Any ideas?

  • SSIS - Parallel Execution of Tasks - How efficient is it?

    - by Randy Minder
I am building an SSIS package that will contain dozens of Sequence tasks. Each Sequence task will contain three tasks. One to truncate a destination table and remove indexes on the table, another to import data from a source table, and a third to add back indexes to the destination table. My question is this. I currently have nine of these Sequences tasks built, and none are dependent on any of the others. When I execute the package, SSIS seems to do a pretty good job of determining which tasks in which Sequence to execute, which, by the way, appears to be quite random. As I continue adding more Sequences, should I attempt to be smarter about how SSIS should execute these Sequences, or is SSIS smart enough to do it itself? Thanks.

  • Getting Unit Tests to work with Komodo IDE for Python

    - by devoured elysium
I've tried to run the following code on Komodo IDE (for python): import unittest class MathLibraryTests(unittest.TestCase): def test1Plus1Equals2(self): self.assertEqual(1+1, 2) Then, I created a new test plan, pointing to this project(file) directory and tried to run it the test plan. It seems to run but it doesn't seem to find any tests. If I try to run the following code with the "regular" run command (F7) class MathLibraryTests(unittest.TestCase): def testPlus1Equals2(self): self.assertEqual(1+1, 2) if __name__ == "__main__": unittest.main() it works. I get the following output: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ran 1 test in 0.000s OK What might I be doing wrong?

  • Will client JVM for a web service(https) throw an SSL Exception when the server is having a valid ce

    - by ring bearer
I have a web service deployed on tomcat hosted on a remote server. I have set it up such that it can be accessed only via HTTPS. For this, I generated a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) and used it to get a temporary certificate from VeriSign. My web service client is on my local machine. If I try to access the service it will throw a javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException:unable to find valid certification path to requested target If I install the certificate in to local Java's keystore, the issue will be resolved. My question is if I install a valid SSL certificate from a CA in to my tomcat server, will I get this client-side error even if I do not import the certificate to local key store?

  • How do I mock a custom field that is deleted so that south migrations run?

    - by muhuk
I have removed an app that contained a couple of custom fields from my project. Now when I try to run my migrations I get ImportError, naturally. These fields were very basic customizations like below: from django.db.models.fields import IntegerField class SomeField(IntegerField): def get_internal_type(self): return "SomeField" def db_type(self, connectio=None): return 'integer' def clean(self, value): # some custom cleanup pass So, none of them contain any database level customizations. When I removed this code, I've created migrations so the subsequent migration all ran fine. But when I try to run them on a pre-deletion database I realized my mistake. I can re-create a bare-bones app and make these imports work, but Ideally I would like to know if South has a mechanism to resolve these issues? Or is there any best practises? It would be cool if I could solve these issues just by modifying my migrations and not touching the codebase. (Django 1.3, South 0.7.3)

I am using the following query in the DAO to help me load in to the database: entityManager.createQuery("LOAD DATA INFILE :fileName INTO TABLE test").setParameter("fileName", "C:\\samples\\test\\abcd.csv").executeUpdate(); I got some idea to use this from http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/load-data.html and how to import a csv file into a mysql from an hibernate+spring application? But I am getting the error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: node to traverse cannot be null! Please help! Thanks

  • Constants by another name

    - by Dave DeLong
First off, I've seen this question and understand why the following code doesn't work. That is not my question. I have a constant, which is declared like; //Constants.h extern NSString * const MyConstant; //Constants.m NSString * const MyConstant = @"MyConstant"; However, in certain contexts, it's more useful to have this constant have a much more descriptive name, like MyReallySpecificConstant. I was hoping to do: //SpecificConstants.h extern NSString * const MyReallySpecificConstant; //SpecificConstants.m #import "Constants.h" NSString * const MyReallySpecificConstant = MyConstant; Obviously I cannot do this (which is explained in the linked question above). My question is: How else (besides something like #define MyReallySpecificConstant MyConstant) can I provide a single constant under multiple names?

  • Postgres: clear entire database before re-creating / re-populating from bash script

    - by Hoff
hi folks, I'm writing a shell script (will become a cronjob) that will: 1: dump my production database 2: import the dump into my development database Between step 1 and 2, I need to clear the development database (drop all tables?). How is this best accomplished from a shell script? So far, it looks like this: #!/bin/bash time=`date '+%Y'-'%m'-'%d'` # 1. export(dump) the current production database pg_dump -U production_db_name > /backup/dir/backup-${time}.sql # missing step: drop all tables from development database so it can be re-populated # 2. load the backup into the development database psql -U development_db_name < backup/dir/backup-${time}.sql Many thanks in advance! • P2 Touchpoint chmod not working?

    - by Michael
I'm using Eclipse 3.5.2 and I've created a p2.inf with the following information: instructions.install = \ chmod(targetDir:@artifact,targetFile:$os$/libfoo.so,permissions:755); instructions.install.import= \ org.eclipse.equinox.p2.touchpoint.natives.chmod I placed the p2.inf inside the META-INF folder of the fragment, but when I install the update site, libfoo.so does not have execute permissions. After pulling my hair out, I tried a p2.inf referencing a non-existing *.so, but nothing seems to happen. No error messages, exceptions, or warnings of any kind to indicate the P2 touchpoint action failed... What's the deal? Any ideas?

  • How to preprocess a Django model field value before return?

    - by Satoru.Logic
Hi, all. I have a Note model class like this: class Note(models.Model): author = models.ForeignKey(User, related_name='notes') content = NoteContentField(max_length=256) NoteContentField is a custom sub-class of CharField that override the to_python method in purpose of doing some twitter-text-conversion processing. class NoteContentField(models.CharField): __metaclass__ = models.SubfieldBase def to_python(self, value): value = super(NoteContentField, self).to_python(value) from ..utils import linkify return mark_safe(linkify(value)) However, this doesn't work. When I save a Note object like this: note = Note(author=request.use, content=form.cleaned_data['content']) The conversed value is saved into the database, which is not what I wanna see. Would you please tell me what's wrong with this? Thanks in advance.

  • Python - Things I shouldn't be doing?

    - by cornjuliox
I've got a few questions about best practices in Python. Not too long ago I would do something like this with my code: ... junk_block = "".join(open("foo.txt","rb").read().split()) ... I don't do this anymore because I can see that it makes code harder to read, but would the code run slower if I split the statements up like so: f_obj = open("foo.txt", "rb") f_data = f_obj.read() f_data_list = f_data.split() junk_block = "".join(f_data_list) I also noticed that there's nothing keeping you from doing an 'import' within a function block, is there any reason why I should do that?

  • Completing install of ruby 1.9.3 with Ruby for for Mac OS X 10.7.5 Leopard, Xcode 4.5.2 -- problems with rvm pkg install openssl

    - by user1848361
First, many thanks in advance for any help. I'm a complete novice with programming and I'm trying to get started with this Ruby on Rails tutorial (http://ruby.railstutorial.org/ruby-on-rails-tutorial-book?version=3.2) I have been trying figure this out for about 7 hours now and since I don't have any hair left to pull out I'm turning to these hallowed pages. I have searched for solutions here again and again. System: Mac OS X 10.7.5 Leopard, Xcode 4.5.2 I installed homebrew and have updated it multiple times I used homebrew to install rvm and have updated it multiple times I installed git The standard ruby on the system (checking with $ ruby -v) is 1.8.7 My problem is that every time I try to use rvm to install a new version of Ruby ($ rvm install 1.9.3) I get the following error: Ruby (and needed base gems) for your selection will be installed shortly. Before it happens, please read and execute the instructions below. Please use a separate terminal to execute any additional commands. Notes for Mac OS X 10.7.5, Xcode 4.5.2. For JRuby: Install the JDK. See http://developer.apple.com/java/download/ # Current Java version "1.6.0_26" For IronRuby: Install Mono >= 2.6 For Ruby 1.9.3: Install libksba # If using Homebrew, 'brew install libksba' For Opal: Install Nodejs with NPM. See http://nodejs.org/download/ To use an RVM installed Ruby as default, instead of the system ruby: rvm install 1.8.7 # installs patch 357: closest supported version rvm system ; rvm gemset export system.gems ; rvm 1.8.7 ; rvm gemset import system.gems # migrate your gems rvm alias create default 1.8.7 And reopen your terminal windows. Xcode and gcc: : I have performed $ brew install libksba and when I try to do it again it tells me that libksba is installed already. When I type "$ rvm requirements" I get: Notes for Mac OS X 10.7.5, Xcode 4.5.2. Xcode and gcc: Right now Ruby requires gcc to compile, but Xcode 4.2 and later no longer ship with gcc. Instead they ship with llvm-gcc (to which gcc is a symlink) and clang, neither of which are supported for building Ruby. Xcode 4.1 was the last version to ship gcc, which was /usr/bin/gcc-4.2. Xcode 4.1 and earlier: - Ruby will build fine. Xcode 4.2 and later (including Command Line Tools for Xcode): - If you have gcc-4.2 (and friends) from an earlier Xcode version, Ruby will build fine. - If you don't have gcc-4.2, you have two options to get it: * Install apple-gcc42 from Homebrew * Install osx-gcc-installer Homebrew: If you are using Homebrew, you can install the apple-gcc42 and required libraries from homebrew/dupes: brew update brew tap homebrew/dupes brew install autoconf automake apple-gcc42 rvm pkg install openssl Xcode 4.2+ install or/and Command Line Tools for Xcode is required to provide make and other tools. osx-gcc-installer: If you don't use Homebrew, you can download and install osx-gcc-installer: https://github.com/kennethreitz/osx-gcc-installer. Warning: Installing osx-gcc-installer on top of a recent Xcode is known to cause problems, so you must uninstall Xcode before installing osx-gcc-installer. Afterwards you may install Xcode 4.2+ or Command Line Tools for Xcode if you desire. ** NOTE: Currently, Node.js is having issues building with osx-gcc-installer. The only fix is to install Xcode over osx-gcc-installer. So I assume I have to do something with brew update brew tap homebrew/dupes brew install autoconf automake apple-gcc42 rvm pkg install openssl Everything seemed to work fine until "$ rvm pkg install openssl", which returns: Fetching openssl-1.0.1c.tar.gz to /Users/thierinvestmentservices/.rvm/archives Extracting openssl to /Users/thierinvestmentservices/.rvm/src/openssl-1.0.1c Configuring openssl in /Users/thierinvestmentservices/.rvm/src/openssl-1.0.1c. • BASH Install Of Wordpress, Without Visiting wp-admin/install.php

    - by user916825
I wrote this little BASH script that creates a folder, unzips Wordpress and creates a database for a site. The final step is actually installing Wordpress, which usually involves pointing your browser to install.php and filling out a form in the GUI. I want to do this from the BASH shell, but can't figure out how to invoke wp_install() and pass it the parameters it needs: -admin_email -admin_password -weblog_title -user_name (line 85 in install.php) Here's a similar question, but in python #!/bin/bash #ask for the site name echo "Site Name:" read name # make site directory under splogs mkdir /var/www/splogs/$name dirname="/var/www/splogs/$name" #import wordpress from dropbox cp -r ~/Dropbox/Web/Resources/Wordpress/Core $dirname cd $dirname #unwrap the double wrap mv Core/* ./ rm -r Core mv wp-config-sample.php wp-config.php sed -i 's/database_name_here/'$name'/g' ./wp-config.php sed -i 's/username_here/root/g' ./wp-config.php sed -i 's/password_here/mypassword/g' ./wp-config.php cp -r ~/Dropbox/Web/Resources/Wordpress/Themes/responsive $dirname/wp-content/t$ cd $dirname CMD="create database $name" mysql -uroot -pmypass -e "$CMD" How do I alter the script to automatically run the installer without the need to open a browser?

  • Extract page from PDF using iText and clojure

    - by KobbyPemson
I am trying to extract a single page from a pdf with clojure by translating the splitPDF method I found here http://viralpatel.net/blogs/itext-tutorial-merge-split-pdf-files-using-itext-jar/ I keep getting this error IOException Stream Closed java.io.FileOutputStream.writeBytes (:-2) This prevents me from opening the document while the repl is still open. Once I close the repl I'm able to access the document. Why do I get the error? How do I fix it ? How can I make it more clojurey? (import '(com.itextpdf.text Document) '(com.itextpdf.text.pdf PdfReader PdfWriter PdfContentByte PdfImportedPage BaseFont) '(java.io File FileInputStream FileOutputStream InputStream OutputStream)) (defn extract-page [src dest pagenum] (with-open [ d (Document.) os (FileOutputStream. dest)] (let [ srcpdf (->> src FileInputStream. PdfReader.) destpdf (PdfWriter/getInstance d os)] (doto d (.open ) (.newPage )) (.addTemplate (.getDirectContent destpdf) (.getImportedPage destpdf srcpdf pagenum) 0 0))))
