    Ein neues Release für Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control ist verfügbar. Es ist das Release 4, oder genauer die Version 12.1.0.4. Der Download steht für alle unterstützten Plattformen seit dem 03.06.2014 auf OTN zur Verfügung.Natürlich gibt es viele Neuerungen, daher können hier nur wenige aufgezählt werden: - Als Repository Datenbank wird jetzt auch die Datenbankversion 12c (als Non-CDB) unterstützt - Das Sicherheitsmodell für zusammengefasste Zieltypen (z.B. Gruppen) wurde geändert. Jetzt kann man Rechte auf die Member einer Grupper vergeben, ohne dass das gleiche Recht auf die Gruppe selbst vergeben werden müsste - Default Preferred Credentials stellen sicher, dass neue EM Benutzer auch ohne weitere Konfiguration arbeiten können - Der Bereich Cloud Management, also der Betrieb einer eigenen Cloud wurde stark weiterentwickelt. - Im Datenbankbereich können die AWR Daten der einzelnen Zieldatenbanken jetzt in ein zentrales AWR Warehouse übertragen und somit besser für längere Zeit gespeichert werden.   • Common Javascript mistakes that severely affect performance?

    At a recent UI/UX MeetUp that I attended, I gave some feedback on a website that used Javascript (jQuery) for its interaction and UI - it was fairly simple animations and manipulation, but the performance on a decent computer was horrific. It actually reminded me of a lot of sites/programs that I've seen with the same issue, where certain actions just absolutely destroy performance. It is mostly in (or at least more noticeable in) situations where Javascript is almost serving as a Flash replacement. This is in stark contrast to some of the webapps that I have used that have far more Javascript and functionality but run very smoothly (COGNOS by IBM is one I can think of off the top of my head). I'd love to know some of the common issues that aren't considered when developing JS that will kill the performance of the site.

    Like a lot of folks I am using SSMS and VS pretty much all day. But staring at the text on the stark white background can be a bit much for my eyes after a while. I have seen quite a few different “themes” for these apps which change all the colors around to make it easier on your eyes. Some of them are pretty cool but all I really wanted was to dim the background a little not radically change the way everything looked. Since the stock colors for comments, breakpoints, keywords and the like are so familiar I wanted a background that did not interfere with those colors. So I picked the following custom color for the item background. It comes off as a parchment type color. Hue: 42        Red: 244 Sat: 123    Green: 245 Lum: 221    Blue: 224

    I have made an encryption function which encrypts a simple value and stores it in the database. Here is the code to encrypt and decrypt: public function encrypt($string){ $iv_size = mcrypt_get_iv_size(MCRYPT_RIJNDAEL_128, MCRYPT_MODE_ECB); $iv = mcrypt_create_iv($iv_size, MCRYPT_RAND); $value = mcrypt_encrypt(MCRYPT_RIJNDAEL_128, $this->key256, $string, MCRYPT_MODE_ECB, $iv); $value = base64_encode($value); return $value; } public function decrypt($string){ $value = base64_decode($string); $value = mcrypt_decrypt(MCRYPT_RIJNDAEL_128, $this->key256, $value, MCRYPT_MODE_ECB); return $value; } When I encrypt a simple value such as 'Michael' and decrypt again, I get the value: Michael????????? Is there a reason I get all those question marks or a way to get rid of them?

    Hi there, seems like I do not understand something with---the python with statement. Consider this class: class test(object): def __enter__(self): pass def __exit__(self, *ignored): pass now, when using it with with, like in with test() as michael: print repr(michael) I would expect some output like <test instance at memore blah>. But I get None. Something wrong here? Any suggestions would help. (I am using Python 2.6.6.) EDIT: Thanks to ephement for pointing me to the documentation.   • One National Team One Event &ndash; SharePoint Saturday Kansas City

    I wasn’t expect to run an event from 1,000 miles away, but some stuff happened you know like it does and I opted in.  It was really weird, because people asked why are you living in NJ and running Kansas City?  I did move, but it was like my baby and Karthik didn’t have the ability to do it this year.  I found it really challenging, because I could not physically be in Kansas City.  At first I was freaking out and Lee Brandt, Brian Laird, and Chris Geier offered to help.  Somehow I couldn’t come the day of the event.  Time-wise it just didn’t work out.  I could do all the leg work prior to the event, but weekends just were not good.  I was going to be in DC until March or April on the weekdays, so leaving that weekend was too tough.  As it worked out Lee was my eyes and ears for the venue.  Brian was the sponsor and prize box coordinator if anyone needed to send items.  Lee also helped Brian the day of the event move all the boxes.  I did everything we could do electronically, such as get the sponsors coordinate with Michael Lotter on invoicing and getting the speakers, posting the submissions, budgeting the money, setting up a speaker dinner by phone, plus all that other stuff you do behind the scenes.  Chris was there to help Lee and Brian the day of the event and help us out with the speaker dinner.  Karthik finally got back from India and he was there the night before getting the folders together and the signs and stuffing it all.  Jason Gallicchio also helped me out (my cohort for SPS NYC) as he did the schedule and helped with posting the speakers abstracts and so did Chris Geier by posting the bios.  The lot of them enlisted a few other monkeys to help out.  It was the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen, but it worked.  Around 100+ attendees ended up showing and I hear it was  a great event.  Jason, Michael, Chris, Karthik, Brian, and Lee are not all from the same area, but they helped me out in bringing this event together.  It was a national SharePoint Saturday team that brought together a specific local event for Kansas City.  It’s like a metaphor for the entire SharePoint Community.  We help our own kind out we don’t let me fail.  I know Lee and Brian aren’t technically SharePoint People they are honorary SharePoint Community Members.  Thanks everyone for the support and help in bringing this event together.  Technorati Tags: SharePoint Saturday,SPS KC,SharePoint,SharePoint Saturday Kanas City,Kansas City
