  I have a few applications that are installed using InstallShield -- during the installation one or two parts of the application are installed with msi's. I've tried recording an iss file to instruct the installation process, but these installations always seem to freeze up. I've also tried installing in a sequence, first installing the msi's, but this doesn't prevent the main installation from trying to install these. Any tips/suggestions/ideas? Thanks!

• How can I tell which "explorer.exe" process is the main one?

  I have a batch file that changes a few registry files, and then restarts explorer.exe so that they take effect. I'm using the command taskkill /f /im explorer.exe and then explorer.exe which of course kills all the explorer.exe processes, including the explorer windows I have open. Obviously, I am using the option to Launch folder windows in a separate process. Is there any way I can determine which instance of explorer.exe is the main one, and just kill that?

• apt-get 403 Forbidden

  I've start a new job today and I am trying to set up my machine to run through their Windows server. I've managed to get a internet connection through the server now but now I can't run apt-get update as I get a "403 Forbidden" error. This is for every repo under my source list, apart from translations(?). I do have a proxy in apt.conf, if I don't have it I get a 407 Permission Denied error. • No updates in my Raring

  Since upgrade from Quantal to raring i am not recieving any updates. For example firefox package - I have version 17 installed and apt-get update && apt-get upgrade does not find updates.   I am using JDBC to connect to MySQL for a small application. In order to test without altering the real database, I'm using HSQL in memory for JUnit tests. I'm using Spring for DI and DAOs. Here is how I'm configuring my HSQL DataSource <bean id="mockDataSource" class="org.springframework.jdbc.datasource.SingleConnectionDataSource"> <property name="driverClassName" value="org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver"/> <property name="url" value="jdbc:hsqldb:mem:mockSeo"/> <property name="username" value="sa"/> </bean> This works fine for my JUnit tests which use the mock DB. But when I try to run a main method, I find the following error: Error creating bean with name 'mockDataSource' defined in class path resource [beans.xml]: Error setting property values; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.PropertyBatchUpdateException; nested PropertyAccessExceptions (1) are: PropertyAccessException 1: org.springframework.beans.MethodInvocationException: Property 'driverClassName' threw exception; nested exception is java.lang.IllegalStateException: Could not load JDBC driver class [org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver] I'm running from Eclipse, and I'm using the Maven plugin. Is there a reason why this would work as a Test, but not as a main()? I know that the main method itself is not the problem, because it works if I remove all references to the HSQL DataSource from my Spring Configuration file.

• Python modules not updating after restarting the main module.

  I've recently come back to a project having had to stop for about 6 months, and after reinstalling my operating system and coming back to it I'm having all kinds of crazy things happen. I made sure to install the same version(2.6) of python that I was using before. It started by giving me strange tkinter error that I hadn't had trouble with before, the program is relatively simple and the 2 or 3 bugs that were left when i quit, I had documented and weren't related to the interface. Things got even weirder when the same error would pop up even after I had removed the offending section of code. In fact, the traceback pointed to a line that didn't even exist in the module it was referencing, eg: line 262 when the module was only 200 lines long. After just starting a completely new file for the main module and copy/pasting it finally recognized that the offending code was gone and I stopped getting the error only to find that any updates to the code I made in another module didn't show up when I restarted the program through the shell. (I didn't forget to save.) After fiddling with this, of course, the old interface error came back, only in a different section of code that had been working previously. In fact, if I revert back to the files I had six months ago, the program works fine. As soon as I change anything in the main module, however, the interface bug comes back.   Hello every body I was using the JDK very well writing the code then i use "javac" to compile it then "java" to run it But Recently when i write a code and compile it then if i try to run it this exception appears to me "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError " at first i thought there is something wrong in my code , i searched in the internet for a solving for this problem but i didn't find anything may help me Then i try to run the "HelloWorld" example i made it before, it runs i copied the code and pasted it in another file and changed the name to "HelloWorld2" and compile it by "javac" and tried to run it by "java" the same exception appears i was surprised why? it is the same code then i used the "javap" which decompile the code with both i found this difference in the first one (the old one) "public static void main(java.lang.String[])"; but in the second (the new one) "public static void main(String[])"; without java.lang then i compiled the old one which works and runs by "javac" and when i try to run it, it didn't run and give me the same exception i tried with some of my old codes it run and when i compile it by "javac" it doesn't work I searched to find a solution to this problem and i found nothing

• CodeIgniter site in subdirectory, htaccess file maybe interfering with htaccess file in main directory?

  In my CodeIgniter site, navigating to any page but the index gives me this error: No input file specified. Googling around, it seems like the cause must have something to do with my .htaccess situation. The way this is set up, and maybe this can eventually change, is that my CI site is in a subdirectory of the main domain. The CI site and main domain each have their own .htaccess files. I can alter either htaccess file and would really like to get them working together in peace and harmony. It's also possible, however, that this has nothing whatsoever to do with htaccess. • Android layouts within layouts, with separate classes handling their input?

  Hey all, I have created a program in Java that uses Jpanels within Jpanels. One example of this is having a side view containing buttons that change the main view when pressed. The main view also has buttons that can be used to alter itself. I am trying to re-create this on the android. I have my layout set up from an xml, with a side panel containing buttons and the main view. There is another xml that contains what I want in the main view. Now I am struggling to get this separate xml to be displayed in the main view and can’t figure out how I would get the class to handle its own input. I don’t want to paste the code into the main.xml as I want to keep things object orientated and each view needs some custom elements such as different textviews. An example of what I am trying to convert for the android is below:- //The ViewInt class has its own layout ViewInt tempView = new ViewInt(i, mFloorNo); //The viewInt class is then added to the main window. mainWindowPanel.add(tempView); This small bit of code would create a view, add it to the main view and then any input in the main window is handled by that class, but at the same time any input not in this main window is handled by another class (probably the root class). Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks. To clarify: The program has a side panel layout, containing buttons. And a main view layout that is empty. I am trying to set a .xml layout to this main view layout, and have it so that if any buttons are pressed in that main view then a class for that layout will handle it.

I have this problem: Two things: 1) I noted down the values generated by the engine: X/Y are too high and minX/minY/maxY/maxX values are causing trouble. • "VLC could not read the file" error when trying to play DVDs

  I can watch most DVD's on my machine using VLC but today, I went to watch Thor, and it won't play. libdvdread4 and libdvdcss2 are at the latest versions. vlc -v returns 1.1.4 w32codecs are installed and reinstalled ubuntu-restricted-extras are same as above My machine recognises the disc and I can open the folder and browse the assorted .vob files, of which there are many. I even cleaned it with Christian Dior aftershave to make sure.

  I've set up a WordPress multi-site with a wildcard ssl for example.com to access the admin area securely. However I'm also using domain mapping to map other domains to other sites e.g. alldogs.com to alldogs.example.com. The problem is when I'm trying to access the front end of a site from and admin for a mapped domain e.g. alldogs.com by clicking "Visit Site" the Link goes to https://alldogs.com because of the forced ssl applied to the admin area. Which produces a certificate warning since the certificate is for example.com and not alldogs.com. How can write a mod_rewrite rule to determine if the url/link clicked on is not the main domain e.g. example.com then change the https:// to http:// so the site can be accessed via port 80 and not generate a certificate warning for that mapped domains

• How I can compile this C++ code that fails with "'::main' must return 'int'"? [migrated]

  I have tried to find a solution that make batch file start flashing on taskbar and only good solution was this post on Stack Overflow. But I can't compile the code with WinGW or anything else to EXE, only getting this error: hello.cpp:6:32: error: '::main' must return 'int' Right now, I'm using TDM-GCC to compile code, because it's bit better... Can somebody give me code that actually works or even better compile it to EXE already? P.S. Even more better if somebody could compile this Delphi code, because I can't find any software that's free.
