• Lombok with Play 2

  What about Lombok integration with Play Framework 2? I really like Lombok it make my code more readable and less boilerplate. And Play Framework is wonderful too. But there is a great trouble in case if you going to mixup them. Main reason is that scala temlates in play project compiled before domain classes. So Lombok, which itself is compiler's hack do not generate accessors for that time. The question is: if it any ways to make it work? I found some discussions in Google Groups, but they do not provide any reasonable solution. So have you got any success with it? And.. why guys from Play Framework project do not provide some Lombok-like solution? Anyway Play is full of code-generation magic and shadow compiling... so, why not?

• Git clone using ssh - can't find repository

  I'm trying to setup a Git server on Windows 7, using CopSsh, PuTTY and msysgit. I'm having problems cloning a repository using ssh. If I use a regular directory path, it works: $ git clone ~/vc/git/depot/test.git/ /c/dev/es/app Initialized empty Git repository in c:/dev/es/app/.git/ warning: You appear to have cloned an empty repository. Ssh, doesn't work. • myth about factory pattern

  This has bothered me for awhile, and I have no clues if this is a myth. It seems that a factory pattern can ease the pain of adding a dependency for a class. For example, in a book, it has something like this Suppose that you have a class named Order. Initially it did not depend on anything. Therefore you didn't bother using a factory to create Order objects and you just used plain new to instantiate the objects. However, you now have a requirement that Order has to be created in association with a Customer. There are million places you need to change to add this extra parameter. If only you had de?ned a factory for the Order class, you would have met the new requirement without the same pain. How is this not same pain as adding an extra parameter to the constructor? I mean you would still need to provide an extra argument for the factory and that is also used by million places, right?

  Anyone had success installing and using PySide on OSX? I am following the install instructions on the PySide site, though I'm running into issues building the API Extractor. I run cmake on the CMakeLists.txt file inside the api extractor dir and: This error is thrown- CMake Error at /Applications/CMake 2.8-0.app/Contents/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindBoost.cmake:894 (message): Unable to find the requested Boost libraries. Unable to find the Boost header files. Please set BOOST_ROOT to the root directory containing Boost or BOOST_INCLUDEDIR to the directory containing Boost's headers. Call Stack (most recent call first): CMakeLists.txt:5 (find_package) I am new to building source w/ cmake and I'm not event really sure what Boost is.   my UITableView has some kind of invisible header / inset on iPad and not on iPhone.   I am developing application for BlackBerry 8900 and I am using features that force me to test/debug it on the real device. I am looking for a convenient way to be able to automate build-deploy-lanuch process. The process is: Package application & sign it Load it on the device Start debugging session in Eclipse With the newest version of BlackBerry plugin for Eclipse, step 1. is almost painless, but I would like to get rid of dialogs that I am missing some debug files. Step 2. and step 3. must be performed manually. Ideally I would like to turn it all into one script, Eclipse macro, whatever.... Has anyone tried something like this with any success?

I have already tried the ID value of the custom ribbon, but it juts duplicates the ribbon? have also tried idMso and idQ attributes passing in the required custom tab Id but no success. • When I make a database change, how do I know what needs to be removed and readded to the LinqToSql O

  For example, I alter a column in a table to be not null from null. I need to then delete and readd the table. That part is pretty clear. What about views, functions, and stored procedures that access the table, especially that column in the table? I've tried running diffs against the files generated by SQLMetal with some limited success, but even with that it's fairly unclear. I know there is at least one commercial tool out there that claims to address this problem, but I am looking for something free. How are people dealing with this issue?

• Generic Text Only printer driver mangles control codes

  If an escape character (or most other characters < 0x20) is sent to the generic / text only printer it gets printed as a period. Using the code in the WinDDK is it possible to 'correct' this behaviour so that it passes it through unmodified? The general scenario for this is that some application ('user app') outputs a document to a windows printer. My application requires this data in plain text form and so what I do is run a generic / text only printer that talks to a virtual com port. This generally works fine except where the 'user app' outputs binary data to the print queue without using the correct mechanism (which seems to work fine on some printer drivers, such as the Epson POS ones, but not the generic / text only one). I've tried changing the print processor selection without success and also tried looking at the gtt files to see if I could readily map in these characters as though they were printable, but the minidriver tool won't let me do that. Any suggestions?

I tried adding a META-INF folder to the bin-root, and in various other places, but with no success. How do I specify in this case the location of a custom WSDL? Thanks!

• Using TSQLUnit to test INSTEAD OF triggers

  I have an INSTEAD OF trigger on a table in my SQL Server 2005 database that checks several incoming values. If an incoming value is invalid, an error is raised and the transaction is rolled back. Otherwise the record is inserted. I would like to include a TSQLUnit test of this trigger where, if an invalid value is inserted, having the transaction rolled back is the successful outcome of the test. I have created a test procedure to do this, but rolling back the transaction aborts execution of the whole suite of tests. Has anyone had success with this? If so, how did you accomplish it? If this is not possible with TSQLUnit, how do you test your triggers? Or do you test them at all?

  Hello, I am trying to pass a variable to an ajax request via jquery. I have a triggered event that defines the variable. I want to do this so that I can have one ajax request handle multiple urls. I have alerted the url and it come back fine, but when I plug it into the URL slot of a $.ajax request my targeted content does not load.   i'm currently trying to add to a software the capability to list unread emails in the user's inbox using imap. After having no success at all using indy10, I discovered synapse which seemed better for what I needed, but I can't find a way to get it working. My problem is with the login (thus I think with the ssl configuration), I can't find a working combination of "FullSSL", "Sock.SSL.SSLType" and "AutoTLS", whetever I do the "Login()" function fails. For the sake of testing, is any of you able to connect to gmail's imap server using synapse, and if yes how ?

• Displaying console output?

  I am currently creating a customer application for a local company. I have a datagridview linked to the customers table, and I am trying to link it up so that updates, inserts and deletions are handled correctly. I am very new to c# so I am starting with the basics (like about 2 days ago I knew nothing - I know vb.net, Java and several other languages though..). Anywho from what I understand anything output through Debug.WriteLine should only appear when in debug mode (common sense really) but anything output through Concole.WriteLine should appear whether or not in debug mode. However I have checked the immediate and output windows and nothing is being output when in normal mode. Does anyone have any idea why this is?? Edit: I have event handlers for clicking a cell - it should output CellClicked and set the gridview to invisible when a cell is clicked. The latter works whichever mode I am in, but CellClicked is only output in debug mode. I am using Console.WriteLine("CellClicked").

• What is the best way to manage one's session variables?

  In my .NET web app, I keep basic user info in a user session object. I also usually keep a director class in the session; which is basically just has info about whatever thing it being worked on on that screen (like a customer id). I am trying to keep from adding a ton of sessions. I also want to make sure at any given time ONLY the sessions that are necessary are in memory. This means I need an effective way of managing my session variables. Any suggestions?

• Why am I getting unexpected output trying to write a hash structure to a file?

  I have a hash in which I store the products a customer buys (%orders). It uses the product code as key and has a reference to an array with the other info as value. At the end of the program, I have to rewrite the inventory to the updated version (i.e. subtract the quantity of the bought items) This is how I do rewrite the inventory: sub rewriteInventory{ open(FILE,'>inv.txt'); foreach $key(%inventory){ print FILE "$key\|$inventory{$key}[0]\|$inventory{$key}[1]\|$inventory{$key}[2]\n" } close(FILE); } where $inventory{$key}[x] is 0 → Title, 1 → price, 2 → quantity. The problem here is that when I look at inv.txt afterwards, I see things like this: CD-911|Lady Gaga - The Fame|15.99|21 ARRAY(0x145030c)||| BOOK-1453|The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown|14.75|12 ARRAY(0x145bee4)||| Where do these ARRAY(0x145030c)||| entries come from? Or more important, how do I get rid of them?

• There's a way to avoid AppleStore?

  Hi, i need to develop an iPhone application that is a Client of serverside application. This application is not for customer but for sell agents. I know that if i try to send to Apple to put on Apple Store they reject it because the application have no sense for Apple Store. The company is small so i can't use the Enterprise program. The only way i can use now is to use Ad Hoc mode but in this case if i made an update you need iTunes and i must find a way to avoid this. Thanks for the help.

  Hi everyone, I am using jstl with dropdown lists. When i click submit button i success the specification but values int dropdownlists are reinitialized. So I want to submit form without loosing the values already selected in the form because I need to stay always at the same level in the form.To be more clear, user choose a value from ddl and click edit button to show other options and fill them at the same form without loosing what he has selected.   I would like to know if the following is possible: As part of the PageLoad of an ASP.Net page request: Use HttpWebRequest (POST) to make a request to a forms authentication webpage of a different web application Examine the response to see if the authentication succeeded (identifiable if an authentication cookie has been set) If it fails, then finish the ASP.Net page request, which will display a message saying "couldn't auto-login" or some such thing If success, then instead of completing the ASP.Net page lifecycle, use "Response.Write" to send the response from the HttpWebRequest back to the browser (thus essentially displaying the webpage from the HttpWebRequest) If the above is possible, then, is there also a way to transfer the authentication cookie from the HttpWebResponse to the requesting browser? My gut feeling is probably not - but if this is the case, then how do proxy servers handle such things? Is that not essentially what they are doing? Thanks for any help

  The code: strSql = "insert into table2 (transactiondate) values ('" & transactiondate & "')" seems to be giving me the runtime error: The conversion of a varchar data type to a smalldatetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value In the code, strSql is a String object and transactiondate is a Date object. In the SQL database however, transactiondate is a smalldatetime object. I've tried changing the smalldatetime to a datetime (in the database) and I've tried transactiondate.toString() but with no success. How can this be fixed? Note: I know about the dangers of inline SQL. I am looking for a quick fix solution here and not a discussion about SQL injection.
