What is the best way to display a large chunk of text (taken from a .txt file in the app) in a UIScrollView so a user can scroll about it? Length of the text is variable.
// Make text white... and background blue
[myButton setTitleColor:[UIColor whiteColor] forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[myButton setBackgroundColor:[UIColor blueColor]];
Should that make a button with white text... and a blue background?
It doesn't.
Is there a way to take a compiled SWF file and figure out how much of it's size is used by code and how much is assets (images, etc)? I'd like to see if I can get my Flex SWF smaller but I'm unsure what's taking up the most space.
With whatever image I try to intialize the UIBarButtonItem, its just showing a white background in the size of the image. Even when I tired in interface builder, the result is the same. All these images when used with other objects works perfectly.
How can I solve this??
I have stored images from the net like this
Documents/imagecache/domain1/original/path/inURI/foo.png
Documents/imagecache/domain2/original/path/inURI/bar.png
Documents/imagecache/...
Documents/imagecache/...
Now I'd like to check the size of imagecache including all it sub-directories.
Is there a convenient way of doing it — preferable without crawling through all the data manually?
Some of the titles of view controllers in my UINavigationController are quite long, which makes the back button in the navigation bar of the next view controller in the hierarchy miss out some of the text, with a "..." instead.
How could I make the text of the back button wrap onto two lines, as with "Now Playing" in the navigation bar of iPod.app?
Thanks!
I have a Rails app (blog) that I am creating. Very basic stuff. In my content area I have a text area for the content of the post. I am needing to include some html in the text area (links, formating, etc).
<%= f.text_area :content %>
Is there another tag that I can use instead of text_area, that will allow me to do this?
Hi,
On the twitter home page (not logged in), there a scrolling text in the middle below the logo. How is this accomplished? It stops scrolling when mouseover and also has a popup dialog on relevant text.
Thanks,
Mike
How do I output coloured text from by unit tests in the Unit Test Session window in Visual Studio. I am using Resharper VS addin which I think produces the Unit Test Window.
I am using this with nunit and wish to use c# Console.Write to generate coloured text to this window.
I want to change the Text of the browse button in the FileUpload Control (System.Web.UI.WebControls), instead of the [Browse...] text I want to use [...]
I'm writing a download manager, and I've noticed that all the web pages I've encountered don't seem to set the ContentLength header, whereas other media types (images) do. However, when I load a page (in Firefox), I get a progress as it loads. What's that based off if not file size?
I have the following code to create a UIPickerView:
pickerView = [[UIPickerView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0f, 416.0f - height, 320.0f, height)];
pickerView.delegate = self;
pickerView.showsSelectionIndicator = YES;
[pickerView setSoundsEnabled:YES];
I would like to change the component widths and change the textsize in each component. Is it possible to do this?
Thanks!
I have a UITableView, which I am controlling from a custom UIViewController. When the user clicks the 'add' button, I add a row to the UITableView with a text field in it, and make it the first responder. The problem is, when the bottom of the table is out of view (or hidden by the keyboard), the UITableView doesn't scroll to bring the text field into view.
UITableViewController does this automatically, but my View Controller can't be a subclass of UITableViewController.
How hard is it to do? I have a text with about 600 characters, multiple lines. Now I want to copy that text to the clipboard using the UIPasteboard classes. What would I need to implement?
Without using jQuery, what is the best way to limit text entry of a textbox to numbers, lowercase letters and a given set of symbols (for example - and _)? If the user enters an uppercase letter, I would like it to be automatically converted to a lowercase letter, and if the user enters a symbol not within the given set, I would like to be able to instantly show a validation error (show some element adjacent to or below the text box).
What's the cleanest cross-browser way of doing this without the aid of jQuery?
Hi
Anybody know how to programmatically generate MP3 files with bookmarks that can be used in iTunes / iPod / iPhone / iPod touch? Specifically text bookmarks (bookmarks with titles) that the listener can skip to a specific point in time in the audio file. Also how to add the text transcription of the podcast's content.
Even better if you have an example Cocoa code or library to write the MP3 file.
Thanks.
I have all my splash screens for iPad and the old iPhone, but the new iPhone will run at 960 x 640 resolution.
I can't seem to find the docs on how a launch image should be sized for this. Does anyone know where Apple documents this, what size the splash screen should be, and what it should be named in the bundle?
I am trying to sign a token object using SHA1.
I am using bouncycastle as the security provider.
Whenever the program tries to sign something it gives me this error.
java.security.SignatureException: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: input data too large.
What is the maximum size for signing something?
Do you have any suggestions about how I can sign this object?
Hi,
I am looking for a regular expression for matching that contains no white space in between text but it may or may not have white space at start or end of text.
I'd like to change the font size of the "Groups & Files" panel of the Xcode IDE. I know how to change the "Fonts & Colors" in the preferences, but those (seem to) only affect the code window, not the rest of the IDE. Any ideas? Thanks!
Hi guys,
I am trying to create a shell script/command that find error_log files created by PHP, check their file sizes and remove them if over a certain size.
I have only gotten as far as printing the files and file sizes with the code below
for i in `locate -r 'error_log$'`;do echo "$i|" `stat -c %s $i`;done
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance!

Is there any way in Java to enforce a minimum window size?
The last article I can find is from 1999, and has some complicated code to mimic the behaviour...
http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/javaqa/1999-10/03-qa-window.html
Surely there is a simple method that can be used?
