• What is the best jQuery based window plug-in you have ever used?

  I tried a couple of jQuery based window plug-ins but unfortunately was not satisfied with any of them. The three plug-ins I have tried failed in one or more respects. I'm not looking for very fancy, animated effects, just very basic but yet adequate functionality. Any suggestions?

• Geolocation under firefox 3.6 requires Proxy Authentication?

  I am trying to share my location on geolocation enabled pages from firefox 3.6, but doesn't seem to get any kind of success or failures. When I wrote my custom js containing navigator.geolocation.getCurrentPosition(func1,func2), the success callback isn't called at all. When I tamper the http requests on firefox, the request to https://www.google.com/loc/json returns with status: 407 [Proxy Authentication Required ( The ISA Server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy filter is denied. )]... Yes, my network is behind a proxy server. But the same works with Chrome. I didn't try other browsers yet.

• Saving a screenshot of a window using C#, WPF, and DWM

  This is a follow up question to this question The solution to the above uses DWM to display a thumbnail of an active window. If I understand correctly, it works by letting you specify the window handle of the application you want to view and then having you provide a window handle and a location on that window where windows should draw the contents of the target Window. Is there a way to render the window screen shot directly to BitmapImage or Image instead of directly drawing it somewhere in your window? (Basically to just grab a screen shot of the window - even if it's covered by another window - with out using an updating thumbnail.) Thanks for you help!

  The UIPerfomance plugin is an easy way to speed up your web pages by applying some of the best practices rules from Yahoo performance team (like minifying, setting a far-future expires header, versioned images...) Unfortunately I didn't find a way to store the static resources in a location outside of the webapplication which has his own advantages ( smaller WAR sizes, better optimize cookieless server, static resources served faster by a highly optimized native httpd, no need to redeploy WAR when updating static resources..). So my question is: is it possible to use this great plugin with static resoures stored outside the web application? And if yes, how?

• IntelliJ IDEA :: Deploy android application onto Samsung S5300

  I'm trying to deploy the app onto my phone (Samsung S5300) I created project in IDEA and it works well in Android emulator. Now I want to deploy it onto my phone. I did the following: plugged USB enabled development mode and checked all options (USB, location etc) on the phone launched the same configuration but specified the device from the plugged devide (choose a running device) nothing happened, I don't see any errors neither in IDEA, not on the phone. What am I missing and how to fix the problem? The API SDK seems to be correct (2.3)

• Transportation Web App - utilizing google or bing map api

  I am working on a transportation web app and I am having a bit of a problem. First, I want to be able to define a shipping corridor, say like I-95 between Baltimore MD and Richmond VA. And store what parameters I need to define this route. Users will then use a web interface and can select various routes, in this case, I-95. Vendors will be posting constantly changing pickup locations in the application database which have a shelf life of about 2 days. Some of these locations maybe along this route. I am storing the LAT and LONG for the specific location right now. If any of these points ARE along or within 2 mile of the route (just off the highway basically - the ideal check would based on an actual highway exit but at this point anything would work), I want them to show up in my search results. Any ideas or suggestions?

• Popup window keeps opening after I close it and refresh the page?

  I have an aspx.cs page with the following code: hypPopup.Attributes.Add("onclick", "window.open('Popup.aspx', '', 'height=650, width=800, location=no, toolbar=no, status=no, scrollbars=yes, resizable=yes'); return false" ); When I click the hypPopup link, the window pops up which is fine, but if I close it and refresh the page, the popup keeps popping up. I have to leave the page and come back for it to stop popping up on every refresh. Is this behavior by default or is there a fix to it? hypPopup.Attributes.Add is done in the Page_Load

• Stop default hashtag behavior with jquery

  I'm using the following code to append a hashtag to the end of a url. That way someone can copy that url and take them back to that page, with certain divs visable. $("a.live").click(function() { window.location.hash = 'live'; $("#live).slideDown(); }); In this example I have a div called 'live', that would slideDown when a link is clicked, and '#live' added to the url. Then I have code that checks the hash tags when the page is loaded to show the proper divs. My problem is, how do I prevent the browser from jumping to the 'live' div once it's called? I don't want the page to scroll down to the div, just want it opened and the hashtag appended so a person could copy it and come back to that page with that div showing. Any tips? Thank you!

• iui transition moving in wrong direction

  i am using iUI to build a native looking web app for iDevices. whenever i click a link with an href of #something that leads to another div on my page, the transition effect moves (correctly) as if the page were sliding in from the right like it does on any other iDevice app. a portion of my app requires an indefinite number of sub pages though, so i generate them on the fly, assign them and id, and set the window location to something like myip/mobile/#_newdiv. this causes the transition effect to move in the wrong direction though (as if the page were sliding in from the LEFT, opposite native iDevices). is there any way to fix this?

• Maths: Determining angle in 3D space

  I hope this is the proper location to ask this question which is the same as this one, but expressed as pure math instead of graphically (at least I hope I translated the problem to math correctly). Considering: two vectors that are orthogonal: Up (ux, uy, uz) and Look (lx, ly, lz) a plane P which is perpendicular to Look (hence including Up) Y1 which is the projection of Y (vertical axis) along Look onto P Question: what is the value of the angle between Y1 and Up? As mathematicians will agree, this is a very basic question, but I've been scratching my head on walls now for at least two weeks without being able to visualize the solution... maybe now too old for finding solutions to school exercises. I'm looking for the scalar trigonometric solution, not a solution using a matrix. Thanks.

• RTSP streaming and save into mp4 file using VLC

  Hello All let say i am having one RTSP url (rtsp://192.168.0.17/mpeg4). the live camera is setup on the machine which relay live video. i am streaming it using vlc player and i am saving it in mp4 file on some location (i.e. c:\temp.mp4). Now i am opening another vlc player instance and open this file (c:\temp.mp4). but as it is in use and saving live streaming to that file. that will not be played. if if stop the streaming and then played temp.mp4 file then it will play the streamed (saved) video. Now my requirement is VLC player should also stream and save into temp.mp4 file continuously and at the same time that file should be played in any standard player. is it possible to do with any option using VLC player that we can do both this things simultaneously. • Kohana PHP - Multiple apps with shared model

  I'm using Kohana 3 to create a website that has two applications, an admin application and the actual site frontend. I have separated my folders to have the two applications separated, so the hierarchy looks as follows: /applications /admin /classes /controller /... /site /classes /controller /.... My question is, how I need to go about creating a shared /model folder. Essentially, both the admin and site itself operates on the same data, so the database layer and business logic remains more or less the same. So to me, it makes sense to have a single model folder, sitting outside of the two application folders. Is it possible to achieve the following hierarchy: /applications /model --> Where model sits in a neatly generic location, accessible to all applications /admin /classes /controller /... /site /classes /controller /....   Hi, I'm trying to run a .jar file with the command "java -jar Filename.jar", but I am always getting an error saying "Could not find the main class: bla.bla.yada". I build the whole application with Maven and specified a Main-Class in the MANIFEST.MF. The path in the file is correct and the class also exists at the right location in the jar. The ending .class is omitted in the MANIFEST.MF. I hope this is correct. Do you have any other hints?

• Eclipse and Cassandra

  I've searched various websites for instructions on how to link 'Cassandra' and 'Eclipse' and followed directions to the last detail in several sites. For some reason, while using Git Bash, I cant get through the 'ant build', via instruction in said mentioned locations across the web. In some location's its easy, just make sure you have; 1. Apache Cassandra source 2. Apache Ant 3. Git So, yeah I've downloaded all the above, tried the same directory, different directories, etc., although still unable to get past the middle step of 'ant build'. • jPlayer problem in Firefox - also throws error from jQuery?! Not related to OGG support.

  I've been working on a small SVG website, http://docroot.ca/ - the SVG part has been working out pretty well. In the current site, jPlayer is called and given an mp3. jPlayer functions properly in Safari, Chrome, and Opera, but not Firefox which throws the following two errors: Error: not well-formed Source File: Line: 1, Column: 191 Source Code: <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><embed name="jqjp_flash_0" id="jqjp_flash_0" src="js/Jplayer.swf" width="0" height="0" bgcolor="#ffffff" quality="high" FlashVars="id=jPlayerBox&fid=jqjp_flash_0&vol=80" allowScriptAccess="always" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /></ and: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... Now I want him to give access to my whole Macbook (XCode for most) so he can do developments at his location using my macbook. • Can anyone tell me what the authors mean on this line?

  i was going through this link: FAT16 Basics to Assemble Clusters. I have read the structures involved in defining a directory entry in FAT. Now when giving the example for a FAT16 File, it says the data cluster is 0x03 for the example file MyFile.txt. Which means if we logically compute the Data Cluster we will be able to reach to the first node which happens to be cluster no 3. But what I fail to understand is what the author is trying to say in the next line where it says What we can see in the File Allocation Table at this moment? How suddenly we reach to the File Allocation Table? Weren't we already there when we were going through the information of Myfile.txt? I couldn't find any reason how suddenly the author jumped to an offset location of 00000200 and is identifying the emptiness of the clusters. It will be great if someone can help me understand. • Visual Studio Unit Tests : dll is not trusted

  I'm struggling getting some unit tests running and wondering if anyone might have anything insightful. The setup is that we've got a bunch of referenced DLL's on a server and when I try and execute I get the old Test Run deployment issue: The location of the file or directory 'c:\source\ProjectName\bin\debug\3rdPartyLibrary.dll' is not trusted. I've tried the old caspol command: caspol -m -ag 1.2 -url file:\server\binaries* FullTrust Which seems to work for everything bar one DLL. I'm currently having to manually change the permissions everytime I do a build of the test project, which is a pain. Anyone have any suggestions? Running a Win7 64bit OS btw.

• eclipse gcov plugin

  I am using gcov plugin in Eclipse CDT + cygwin compiler & linker to find code coverage. I installed gcov plugin from http://svn.sourceforge.jp/svnroot/ginkgo/trunk/org.ginko.gcov.update/ location and follow the below link to get coverage of my .c file. I was able to create .gcno and .gcda files. But double clicking on those files, opens the files in eclipse editor. I could not find the gcov editor. Also I couldn't see any code coverage results in my .c file. What is the wrong with my procedure?
