  • Cloud services, Public IPs and SIP

    I'm trying to run a custom SIP software (which uses JAIN SIP 1.2) on a cloud box. What I'd really like is to have a real public IP aka which is listed by "ifconfig -a" command. This is because atm I don't want to write additional SIP code / add a SIP proxy in order to manage private IP addresses / address translation. I gave Amazon EC2 a go, but as reported here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10013549/sip-and-ec2-elastic-ips it's not fit for purpose (they do a 1:1 NAT translation between the private IP of the box and its Elastic IP). Does anyone know of a cloud service that provides real static public IP addresses?

    I am developing a simple c++ program inside Microsoft Visual Studio. This program will later be convert to DLL, in order to register it to Internet Explorer. Inside my program, I would like to do like this: if flag=1, toolbar_button = green; else toolbar button = red; I want to create a simple button on the Internet Explorer, and the button can reflects the color that I pass from my c++ program. How can I achieve this?

  • HTTP traffic through PIX VPN from outside site

    I have a remote site with a website that only allows access from the outside IP assigned to our local PIX. I have users connecting to the local networking using a VPN that need to be able to view this remote site. I don't think this works because the packets want to come in and go out over the same (ext) interface. So I'm looking for a way to make this work using the PIX or setting up a service on a server on the local network to act as a middle-man for the HTTP requests. The remote site doesn't support setting up a VPN to our PIX. The remote website is dishing out pages over a non-standard port. Can I use squid or something similar to proxy just one site?

  • Unable to browse some pdfs and docs.

    I have a web site that uses Microsoft Indexing Service to index and query a directory that holds various documents of type pdf, rtf, mht, and doc. The indexing and querying works well (for the most part); however, some files will load while others will not. This is a Windows Server 2003 box running the site using IIS 6. The indexed directory is a sub directory off of the site's root directory (i.e. http://my.domain.com/files/). The file paths are accurate in the URL; however, I can only access some of the files of each file type. The files that I cannot access give a 404 File Not Found. I am able to open all files via windows explorer;however, attempting to open them via a browser over http is hit and miss. Has anyone experienced this issue and know how to resolve it? Anyone have any idea why I could access some files but not others? Does anyone have any recommendations on what to look into to try this (i.e. does owner matter or something like that?)?   • How to handle unknown initializer functions in lua?

    I want to load data written in a variant of lua (eyeonScript). However, the data is peppered with references to initialization functions that are not in plain lua: Redden = BrightnessContrast { Inputs = { Red = Input { Value = 0, }, }, } Standard lua gives "attempt to call a nil value" or "unexpected symbol" errors. Is there any way to catch these and pass it to some sort of generic initializer? I want to wind up with a nested table data structure. Thanks!

    Is there a way to transfer C++ preprocessor definitions into a custom pre-link step procedure call as a command-line parameter or export them into a file any other way? Example: Let's say, I have a c++ project, and in it's Debug configuration I put a preprocessor definition like MAKUMBA_OBA=0x13 Then I add custom pre-link step which executes some javascript like sarahjessicaparker.js /to tomsrhinoplasty $(MAKUMBA_OBA) It would be great, if it just worked, but I never get a third parameter in my js. So the question is: how to pass a preprocessor definition to s script?

    I understand that Haskell's filter is a high order function (meaning a function that takes another function as a parameter) that goes through a list checking which element fulfills certain boolean condition. I don't quite understand its definition: filter:: (a->Bool)->[a]->[a] filter p [] = [] filter p (x:y) | p x = x:filter p y | otherwise = filter p y I understand that if I pass an empty list to the function, it would just return an empty list, but how do I read the last two lines?

  • Running a webserver behind a firewall I have no access to

    I'm having a bad time in my student appartment: I want to run a webserver on my Laptop, which should be reachable from outside of the net. I'm sitting behind some proxy-server that passes outgoing packets to the matching server. But when it comes to incoming messages - it wouldn't route them correctly to my PC. (Seems like packets only get passed if some PC from within the student-flat is already connected to the sending server) In the past I had a small virtual private server that was sending incoming website-requests over a reverse shell to my PC. Which then returned the website content, and the visitor could see my website. Sadly I dont have that server anymore... Do you have any idea that might solve my problem? Greetings, Benedikt

    Hi When parsing an .obj-file, with vertices and vertex-faces, it is easy to pass the vertices to the shader and the use glDrawElements using the vertex-faces. When parsing an .obj-file, with vertices and texture-coordinates, another type of face occur: texture-coordinate faces. When displaying textures, apart from loading images, binding them and passing texture coordinates into the parser, how to use the texture-coordinate faces? They differ from the vertex-faces and I suppose that the texture-coordinate faces have a purpose when displaying textures? Regards Niclas

  • Did MS break IE with update on 2010-01-12?

    I have 4 computers at 2 completely seperate clients that have all experienced the same problem on the same day. Internet Explorer 7 is returning "Page not Found" for all sites. The real kicker is that all other Internet works, including Firefox. At least one of the machines is Vista. Not sure on the other 3. At least 2 of the machines have no proxy server set so it isn't that. Did Microsoft push an automatic update that broke IE7 on Tuesday 2010-01-12? Has anyone else experienced this problem in the last week? This can't be a coincidence. Apart from being located in the same town and being supported by my company (we didn't change anything) these clients have nothing in common except they use Windows and they browse with IE. These machines probably share other traits, like having Spybot installed, however removing Spybot changed nothing. Also, of course i got them to reboot. Still broken.

I dont want the request to be received by the tomcat server and process it. For performance based concerns i want this request to be handled at apache level. with all the research i was still unable to get this to run; RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} OPTIONS RewriteRule .* - [R=200m] can somebody assist me with what rewrite rule should be there? or is there an alternative to RewriteEngine?
