  • How to listen for file system changes MAC - kFSEventStreamCreateFlagWatchRoot

    - by Cocoa Newbie
Hi All, I am listening for Directory and disk changes in a COCOA project using FSEvents. I need to get events when a root folder is renamed or deleted. So, I passed kFSEventStreamCreateFlagWatchRoot while creating the FSEventStream. But even if I delete or rename the root folder I am not getting corresponding FSEventStreamEventFlags. Any idea what could possibly be the issue. I am listening for changes in a USB mounted device. I used both FSEventStreamCreate and FSEventStreamCreateRelativeToDevice. One thing I notices is when I try with FSEventStreamCreate I get the following error message while creating FSEventStream: (CarbonCore.framework) FSEventStreamCreate: watch_all_parents: error trying to add kqueue for fd 7 (/Volumes/NO NAME; Operation not supported) But with FSEventStreamCreateRelativeToDevice there are no errors but still not getting kFSEventStreamEventFlagRootChanged in event flags. Also, while creation using FSEventStreamCreateRelativeToDevice apple say's if I want to listen to root path changes pass emty string "". But I am not able to listen to root path changes by passing empty string. But when I pass "/" it works. But even for "/" I do not get any proper FSEventStreamEventFlags. I am pasting the code here: -(void) subscribeFileSystemChanges:(NSString*) path { PRINT_FUNCTION_BEGIN; // if already subscribed then unsubscribe if (stream) { FSEventStreamStop(stream); FSEventStreamInvalidate(stream); /* will remove from runloop */ FSEventStreamRelease(stream); } FSEventStreamContext cntxt = {0}; cntxt.info = self; CFArrayRef pathsToWatch = CFArrayCreate(NULL, (const void**)&path, 1, NULL); stream = FSEventStreamCreate(NULL, &feCallback, &cntxt, pathsToWatch, kFSEventStreamEventIdSinceNow, 1, kFSEventStreamCreateFlagWatchRoot ); FSEventStreamScheduleWithRunLoop(stream, CFRunLoopGetCurrent(), kCFRunLoopDefaultMode); FSEventStreamStart(stream); } call back function: static void feCallback(ConstFSEventStreamRef streamRef, void* pClientCallBackInfo, size_t numEvents, void* pEventPaths, const FSEventStreamEventFlags eventFlags[], const FSEventStreamEventId eventIds[]) {? char** ppPaths = (char**)pEventPaths; int i; for (i = 0; i < numEvents; i++) { NSLog(@"Event Flags %lu Event Id %llu", eventFlags[i], eventIds[i]); NSLog(@"Path changed: %@", [NSString stringWithUTF8String:ppPaths[i]]); } } Thanks a lot in advance.

  • In CentOS 4.3 Webmin 1.3000 bandwidth monitoring is eating disk space. How to delete those files?

    - by Silkograph
I maintain Linux server being used for Mail, Squid and DNS service. Recently I observed that something was eating server disk space. But at last, today I caught the culprit which was consuming the disk by storing large number of files. On this server, Webmin 1.300 is installed. We use Squid proxy and Sarg to monitor Internet access. I always manually clear Sarg generated files under /var/www/html/squid for last few years. But I never realized that Webmin is also storing some kind of bandwidth log files in its' directory structure. I have noticed that under /etc/webmin/bandwidth/hours it has stored more thousands of files since year 2007 totaling about 17 GB. We have used 40 GB HDD for this server machine. My question is how can I delete those (/etc/webmin/bandwidth/hours) files safely?

  • Why is Google Chrome making these weird requests?

    - by mackenir
I noticed that now and again, Chrome will make three requests to weird hostnames that arent resolved. For example: HEAD http://gtblynlsos/ HTTP/1.1 Host: gtblynlsos Proxy-Connection: keep-alive Content-Length: 0 User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.13 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/9.0.597.107 Safari/534.13 Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate, sdch Accept-Language: en-GB,en-US;q=0.8,en;q=0.6 Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.3 Other example weird hostnames: http://nxibbjklov/ http://moheksgryj/ Has anyone else seen this? Any ideas what's going on? I have all Chrome extensions disabled.

  • How to write a ProxyPass rule to go from HTTPS to HTTP in IIRF

    - by Keith Nicholas
I have a server which is running a web app that self serves HTTP. I'm wanting to use IIS6 (on the same server) to provide a HTTPS layer to this web app. From what I can tell doing a reverse proxy will allow me to do this. IIRF seems like the tool to do this job. There are no domain names involved.... its all ip numbers. So I think I want :- https:<ipnumber>:5001 to send all its requests to the same server but on a different port and use HTTP ( not exposed to the net ) http:<ipnumber>:5000 but not sure how to go about it with IIRF, I'm not entirely sure how to write the rules? I think I need to make a virtual web app on 5001 using HTTPS? then add a rules file.

  • Some clarification on rvalue references

    - by Dennis Zickefoose
First: where are std::move and std::forward defined? I know what they do, but I can't find proof that any standard header is required to include them. In gcc44 sometimes std::move is available, and sometimes its not, so a definitive include directive would be useful. When implementing move semantics, the source is presumably left in an undefined state. Should this state necessarily be a valid state for the object? Obviously, you need to be able to call the object's destructor, and be able to assign to it by whatever means the class exposes. But should other operations be valid? I suppose what I'm asking is, if your class guarantees certain invariants, should you strive to enforce those invariants when the user has said they don't care about them anymore? Next: when you don't care about move semantics, are there any limitations that would cause a non-const reference to be preferred over an rvalue reference when dealing with function parameters? void function(T&); over void function(T&&); From a caller's perspective, being able to pass functions temporary values is occasionally useful, so it seems as though one should grant that option whenever it is feasible to do so. And rvalue references are themselves lvalues, so you can't inadvertently call a move-constructor instead of a copy-constructor, or something like that. I don't see a downside, but I'm sure there is one. Which brings me to my final question. You still can not bind temporaries to non-const references. But you can bind them to non-const rvalue references. And you can then pass along that reference as a non-const reference in another function. void function1(int& r) { r++; } void function2(int&& r) { function1(r); } int main() { function1(5); //bad function2(5); //good } Besides the fact that it doesn't do anything, is there anything wrong with that code? My gut says of course not, since changing rvalue references is kind of the whole point to their existence. And if the passed value is legitimately const, the compiler will catch it and yell at you. But by all appearances, this is a runaround of a mechanism that was presumably put in place for a reason, so I'd just like confirmation that I'm not doing anything foolish.

  • Does the openssl command line do key strengthening?

    - by chotchki
If I run the openssl command line in hmac mode (as below), is the key used for the hmac used directly or is it hashed before using it as the key? echo "foo" | openssl dgst -sha256 -binary -hmac "test" | openssl base64 Similarly, when encrypting a file with openssl (as below)is the pass phrase hashed with the salt? (If so how is it done? A pointer to the right source file would be even better.) openssl enc -salt

  • How can I debug a PHP CLI script with xdebug?

    - by Laran Evans
I haven't quite figured this out. EVERY piece of documentation I've found covers how to use xdebug to debug scripts running in Apache. I need to debug a php CLI script. So, for instance, how do I pass the XDEBUG_SESSION_START variable in to get xdebug to kick on? I'm specifically trying to debug a CakePHP shell. So if anyone has any additional insight into that I'd be very appreciative. Thanks.

  • Switch 302 redirect to 301 with Apache 2 ProxyPass in front of Tomcat 6

    - by Gearóid
I'm trying to optimise my site for SEO and it seems as though their is a 302 direct in action for the http requests. I'm hosting my app on a Tomcat 6 server which lies behind an Apache 2 server. I use the ProxyPass method (http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/proxy-howto.html) to forward all requests to port 8080 (the port my app is hosted on). I've seen a lot of advice on how to set the redirect type when using the VirtualHost method but none to do with ProxyPass. The app is a Struts app that forwards users on to index.jsp when they hit the base url. Could this also be the issue? I'm grateful for any help on this one! Cheers!

  • How to set Accept-Language header on request from applet

    - by Jo
Hi, I'm not familiar with Java but I need to make a request to a remote webservice from within my applet. The webservice (.Net 1.1) uses HttpContext.Current.Request.UserLanguages[0] to determine the language to use. But the value of this member is alway null. So is there a way to pass the Accept-Language header along with something like "en-GB" set?

  • jquery dialog form with dynamic variables

    - by Patrick
Hello, Currently I have an html form - which I call with jquery dialog - to insert new records into a table. But I also would like to update existing records with the same form - using jquery dialog. I'm not sure within the dialog how I access these data values - or pass them in as arguments - and hook them up with the form elements...? Anyone has done this before and knows an agile technique to do this? kind regards, Patrick
