  Hey, I'm trying to create a game similar to this (Note:When you click 'play', there are SFX in the game which you can't seem to turn off, so you may want to check volume). In particular, I'm interested in knowing how the 'infinite' landscape is generated. Are there any tutorials/articles describing this? I came across procedural generation, but I'm not quite sure what topics I should be looking for (or if it's even procedural generation). (I'm using C#, but I don't mind the language as I assume the theory behind it remains the same) Thanks for any suggestions

• Django Per-site caching using memcached

  Hi, So I'm using per-site caching on a project and I've observed the following, which is kind of confusing. When I load a flat page in my browser then change it through admin and then do a refresh (within the cache timeout) there is no change in the page--as expected. However when I stat a new session in a different browser and load the page (still within the timeout) the app is hit instead of the cache, with the Isn't the cache key generated from the URL? it seems that the session state is getting in there somewhere, which is causing a cache miss. • tmux: Suddenly, cannot horizontally split

  As root, using a reasonably default .profile and .shrc and an empty tmux.conf, I am unable to split the window horizontally. There are a number of cases to consider so I'll list them clearly. root's .profile and .shrc, tmux works perfectly. Occasionally (twice out of the 50 or so times I've tested it), the splitting will work fine once in a session. (This happened for example when I ran ktrace on tmux, which I can also post) To explain the 'suddenly' part of the title: when I started my newly updated mysql56-server, tmux immediately exited and lost the session. Recently I changed architectures, from FreeBSD 10.0 i386 to amd64, and I am still working through shared library incompatibilities. I suspect that this could be involved, but I can't imagine how an incompatibility of this sort could result in such a specific, isolated failure.

  Hello, i need some help with c# and nhibernate. I'm working on a project that requires the entity classes to be generated from hbm files at runtime. I get the mapping files from a service, and then need to generate the classes dynamicaly and configure nhibernate to use them. The problem is that i'm new to nhibernate and not much of a pro in c#, so me writing the piece of code that achieves this is very error-prone. I was wondering if you know of any open source software that i could use. Worst case scenario (if can't find anything that even remotely resembles what i need), do you guys have some advice on where should i start? Maybe some links ? Thanks, Denis.

• C# parsing txt files IF name format is desired format

  OK, I have txt files that I am parsing and saving into a sql db. The names are formatted like R306025COMP_272A4075_20090929_080159.txt However, there are a select few (out of thousands of files) with names that are formatted differently (particularly files that were generated as tests), example R306025COMP_SU2_TestBottom_20090915_101441.txt The reason this causes a problem for me is that I am using Split('_')[1,2,etc] to extract the R number, the 272A4075 portion, and the 20090929 (date) portion. When the application comes across the oddly named files, it fails because it is trying to parse 'TestBottom' as a date and inserts 'SU2' instead of the 272 number. Basically I want the app to recognize that if the file's name is not formatted like my first example, skip it. Any advice?

  I have Web Service client code generated by WSDL2Java. I am trying to encrypt the Soap Envelope specifying a CallbackHandler in the wsdd. I've managed to set a username and password in plain text on the soap request, but I need to use a key instead (I have been given a .key file which seems to be a SecretKeySpec). I load the .key file, read the bytes and then in the CallbackHandler I do the following:- encryptionKey = getBytesFromFile("mykey.key"); WSPasswordCallback pc = (WSPasswordCallback) callbacks[i]; pc.setKey(encryptionKey); But nothing relating to the encryption appears in the soap request and I get an error stating that pwd must be set. I'm totally stuck. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

When I try to add the event that I have (which is passed into this view controller, having been retrieved from core data previously) with this code [myEvents addEventObject:event]; It falls over with *** -[NSComparisonPredicate evaluateWithObject:]: message sent to deallocated instance MyEvents and Event are just the default generated code.   Understanding that I should probably just dig into the source to come up with a solution, I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a tactic for dealing with this. In my project, I have a lot of images being generated outside of the application. I'm isolating them on the filesystem based on a model's pk. For example, a model instance with a pk of 121 might have the following images: .../thumbs/1/2/1/img.1.jpg .../thumbs/1/2/1/img.2.jpg ... .../thumbs/1/2/1/img.27.jpg Since the image filenames themselves are not guaranteed to be unique, I'm looking for a way to inform sorl (at runtime) that I'd like to prefix thumbs for this model with the instance pk value. Is this even possible without patching sorl?

• How to get XDebug working on Mac command line PHP

  I recently installed Zend Server Community Edition on a Mac with Snow Leopard. I can't get XDebug to work ... it shows up in the output for phpinfo from a web browser, but when I var_dump() a variable, there is no special output, and when I run phpunit, code coverage reports aren't generated. Also when I type php -m at the command line, there is nothing for XDebug. I suspect that it's because the Mac is running the executable of PHP that was bundled with it instead of the executable of PHP that came with the Zend Server install. When I type /usr/local/zend/bin/php -m, XDebug does show up. I followed the instructions at http://akrabat.com/php/some-notes-on-zend-server-ce-for-mac-os-x/. Also I downloaded the xdebug.so from the Komodo web site. Zend Debugger and all other Zend extensions are disabled. So how can I get XDebug working correctly?

I know about SetMaxResults() and SetFirstResult(), but because of the left join and DistinctRootEntity, that could return less than x Orders. I tried "select distinct o" as well, but the sql that is generated for that (using the sqlserver 2008 dialect) seems to ignore the distinct for pages after the first one (I think this is the problem). What is the best way to accomplish this?

My tags file is generated very well and here is a simple row in it. my.namespace.classname /path/to/file.js /^my.namespace.classname = function(first_arg,$/;" f Here is an example what i need to omnicomplete: my.namespace.cla <- omnicomplete list with all classnames in the my.namespace The above is the key to my problem, because it looks like omnicomplete searches only namespace without including "my." in front of it. So i see other element in the omnicomplete list and not my classname at all. However, if i type :tag my.namespace.classname for example gvim opens the correct file at the correct position. What is wrong and how can I make it work?

• Play framework 1.x on Tomcat - httpOnly cookies

  I'm setting application.session.httpOnly=true in the application.conf and generating a war file and deploying on tomcat. I still see the cookie generated as HttpOnly=No and it is editable. This is an issue with play 1.x running on tomcat 6 (i.e. servlet api 2.x). Apparently, http only flag for cookies was only introduced in servlet 3.0 and so is only available in tomcat 7+ has anybody identified a workaround for this so far (so I could have http only cookies for play 1.x on tomcat 6.x ) ? the httpOnly flag on context in tomcat only works for tomcat's jsessionid cookie... also, can I run a play 1.x app on servlet 3.0 ? PS: This was also posted on the play framework's google groups but we did not receive a response and so posting on SO.

• SAXException: Unexpected end of file after null

  I'm getting the error in the title occasionally from a process the parses lots of XML files. The files themselves seem OK, and running the process again on the same files that generated the error works just fine. The exception occurs on a call to XMLReader.parse(InputStream is) Could this be a bug in the parser (I use piccolo)? Or is it something about how I open the file stream? No multithreading is involved. Piccolo seemed like a good idea at the time, but I don't really have a good excuse for using it. I will to try to switch to the default SAX parser and see if that helps. Update: It didn't help, and I found that Piccolo is considerably faster for some of the workloads, so I went back.

I see a following approach: create a separate interface; add it to "base classes" for my RiaService; define each autogenerated RIA-method in this interface; insert dependency so that my "functionality" will depend not from the RiaService, but from the interface that is implemented with RiaService. But for this case I see a problem: how to keep my interface in the auto-generated files? ANy thoughts are welcome.

• Problem including dynamic image in Eclipse BIRT 2.5.0 report on Windows

  I have a BIRT 2.5.0 report design with a dynamic image (URL is specified through report parameter, image formats tried - .png, .bmp). When running the report from our application on Ubuntu, everything renders OK. When doing exactly the same thing on Windows, there's following message instead of the actual image: Current report item is not supported in this report format. Same problem occurs when including image with a fixed URL - even though the image is displayed and loaded in the Report Designer, it's not rendered in report generated from our application. Again, this happens only on Windows. The only way I managed to get the image into a rendered report was through embedding it into the report design file, which is not suitable as the image has to be dynamic.

  I have tryied to build my project in netbeans 6.8/ windows xp, and I've received this errors: ..\nbproject\build-impl.xml:452: The following error occurred while executing this line: ..\nbproject\build-impl.xml:224: Compile failed; see the compiler error output for details.output for details. • SQL Server Bulk Insert failing when called from .NET SqlCommand

  I have a stored procedure which does bulk insert on a SQL server 2005 database. When I call this stored procedure from some SQL (passing in the name of a local format file and data file) it works fine. Every time. However, when this same stored procedure gets called from C# .NET 3.5 code using SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery it works intermittently. When it fails a SqlException is generated stating "Cannot bulk load. Invalid column number in the format file "c:\bulkinsert\MyFile.fmt" I don't think this error message is correct. Has anyone experienced similar problems with calling bulk insert from code? Thanks.

• Unable to generate tlb file from dll, used tlbexp

  I have a peculiar situation. I am trying to create a type library from a dll. The problem is that the type library gets created but the contents are not there. I get a message typelib filename: could not determine filename when I am trying to view the tlb using oleview. I am using tlbexp to create the tlb file. I have VC++ 2003 Toolkit and VS 2008 C++ Express edition installed and i tried tlbexp from both installs. Neither generated anything inside the tlb. Any help appreciated. Arpan

• Cross domain cookie tracking

  Hi, The company I work for has four domains and I'm trying to set up the cookies, so one cookie can be generated and tracked across all the domains. From reading various posts on here I thought it was possible. I've set up a sub domain on one site, to serve a cookie and 1*1 pixel image to all four sites. But I can't get this working on the other sites. If anyone can clarify that: Its possible? If I'm missing something obvious or a link to a good example? I'm trying to do this server side with PHP.
