  • Delphi Path Variables

    - by user337340
Hey Everyone, I've got what I'm hoping is a simple question. In the Delphi IDE, the path to the Delphi installation is specified as $(DELPHI). I am wondering if there is a way to create my own path indicators, such as $(MY_LIBRARY) or something similar. I thought $(DELPHI) was specified as an environment variable, but apparently not. Any ideas? Thanks all! ~DJ DJ Quimby

  • TraceMonkey and GNU GPL license

    - by JavaMan
I am trying to embed a Javascript engine into my application. But the license for Mozilla Javascript engine is GNU/GPL/MPL based and I don't have the time and energy to digest the cryptic legal document. In short, does the license mean I need to publish my application's source code if I embed the engine into my own appli.? Something I think is quite impossible but as what i understand from the CopyLeft license, any work derived from modifying the source code means the derived work must be made open source as well.

  • PHP Summarize any URL

    - by Dylan Taylor
Hey guys, How can I, in PHP, get a summary of any URL? By summary, I mean something similar to the URL descriptions in Google web search results. Is this possible? Is there already some kind of tool I can plug in to so I don't have to generate my own summaries? I don't want to use metadata descriptions if possible. -Dylan

  • How do I get the entity framework to work with archive flags?

    - by Orion Adrian
I'm trying to create a set of tables where we don't actually delete them, but rather we set the archive flags instead. When we delete an entity, it shouldn't be deleted, it should be marked as archived instead. What are the programming patterns to support this? I would also prefer not to have to roll out my own stored procs for every table that have these archive flags if there is another solution.

  • Alternative to Google Custom Search

    - by EduardoMello
Hi, I'm using Google Custom Search (http://www.google.com/cse) on a client website. They are not very happy about rival companies showing up on sponsered links on their own site. I know we can use Google Site Search (http://www.google.com/sitesearch/ but it has an annual fee. I've been looking all around for a Free/OpenSource alternative for Google CSE, but found little I can use. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you

  • Can I use mono's AOT feature to natively "pre-compile" .NET DLLs/EXEs to make them harder to reverse

    - by Jared Updike
Can I use mono's AOT (Ahead of Time compilation) feature to natively "pre-compile" all or part of some of my own .NET DLLs (and or EXEs) to make them harder to reverse engineer? I'm using Windows (7 / x64 but I have an x86 XP machine as well) and .NET 3.5 (VS 2008) and I'm curious if mono/AOT can be/has been used for this purpose? (Tying them to x86 is acceptable at this point.) See also this question where I tried this and had no luck.

  • SharePoint MOSS Approve/Reject button customisation

    - by 78lro
It seems that the out of the box approve/reject buttons in SharePoint CMS try to direct you to an InfoPath form. We have implemented custom .aspx pages that we use for our workflow approval process and would like it to show these when a user clicks the buttons. Currently we get an error that the formURN cannot be found. Can I affect the url that is shown when the approve/reject buttons are clicked or Can I hide those buttons and provide my own buttons/functionality for that purpose Thanks for any suggestions

  • XML invoice specification

    - by stimms
I am writing an application which produces invoices. Yes, it sucks. I was wondering it there was any agreed upon DTD for invoices? It seems like everybody has their own format. Perhaps there is a collection of XSLTs for tranforming a common standard into lesser known formats?

  • Unloading vertex buffers in OpenGL

    - by Jeremy Statz
I have an Android live wallpaper that I suspect is leaking memory, probably either textures or vertex arrays. I'm calling glDeleteTextures on my texture IDs, but don't see any sort of equivalent for my vertex buffers. I'd like to be able to be sure both my textures and buffers are getting unloaded by OpenGL, am i missing something? The documents I've found seem to suggest OpenGL just works it out on its own, but that's not giving me a lot of comfort.

  • What good alternatives are there to Google Charts?

    - by Rhubarb
I have been experimenting with Google charts. Are there any alternatives that are reasonably as expressive but can be installed locally on your own web server? I don't like the idea of relying on an outside entity for a feature to work. Even if it is for cost, it would be preferable. Any suggestions?

  • What is the iPhone simulator IP address?

    - by Chris G
Hi I have been looking for the answer to this question for some time. I am doing network programming for the iPhone and it is necessary for me to use the IP address of the device. This isn't a problem on the physical device as it has its own IP address on the network. However I was wondering what was the case with it on the simulator. Does it get assigned an IP address to be used? Thanks in advanced for any help, CG

  • Must Dependency Injection come at the expense of Encapsulation?

    - by urig
If I understand correctly, the typical mechanism for Dependency Injection is to inject either through a class' constructor or through a public property (member) of the class. This exposes the dependency being injected and violates the OOP principle of encapsulation. Am I correct in identifying this tradeoff? How do you deal with this issue? Please also see my answer to my own question below.
