    I recently cleared out all of my ruby install and installed form sources using the instructions at hivelogic I have have been able to install a few gems, but most of the time, "sudo gem install rails" hangs. • Override Javascript Function Based on Passed Parameters

    - by George
    Is it possible to override a function based on the number of parameters that you are passing into it? For instance: function abc(name) { document.write ('My name is' + name); } function abc(name,friend) { document.write ('My name is' + name + 'and my best friend\'s name is' + friend); } So in the HTML if I just called abc(george) it would use the first version of the function, but if I called abc(george,john) it would use the second version. There may be other ways to accomplish the example I used, but I'm just wondering if the concept is sound in javascript.

  • Email Validation from WTForm using Flask

    - by lost9123193
    I'm following a Flask tutorial from http://code.tutsplus.com/tutorials/intro-to-flask-adding-a-contact-page--net-28982 and am currently stuck on the validation step: The old version had the following: from flask.ext.wtf import Form, TextField, TextAreaField, SubmitField, validators, ValidationError class ContactForm(Form): name = TextField("Name", [validators.Required("Please enter your name.")]) email = TextField("Email", [validators.Required("Please enter your email address."), validators.Email("Please enter your email address.")]) submit = SubmitField("Send") Reading the comments I updated it to this: (replaced validators.Required with InputRequired) (same fields) class ContactForm(Form): name = TextField("Name", validators=[InputRequired('Please enter your name.')]) email = EmailField("Email", validators=[InputRequired("Please enter your email address.")]), validators.Email("Please enter your email address.")]) submit = SubmitField("Send") My only issue is I don't know what to do with the validators.Email. The error message I get is: NameError: name 'validators' is not defined I've looked over the documentation, perhaps I didn't delve deep enough but I can't seem to find an example for email validation.

  • using wget against protected site with NTLM

    - by Joey V.
    Trying to mirror a local intranet site and have found previous questions using 'wget'. It works great with sites that are anonymous, but I have not been able to use it against a site that is expecting username\password (IIS with Integrated Windows Authentication). Here is what I pass in: wget -c --http-user='domain\user' --http-password=pwd http://local/site -dv Here is the debug output (note I replaced some with dummy values obviously): Setting --verbose (verbose) to 1 DEBUG output created by Wget 1.11.4 on Windows-MSVC. --2009-07-14 09:39:04-- http://local/site Host `local' has not issued a general basic challenge. • Spring MVC annotation config problem

    - by Seth
    I'm trying to improve my spring mvc configuration so as to not require a new config file for every servlet I add, but I'm running into problems. I've tried using this tutorial as a starting point, but I'm running into an issue that I can't figure out. The problem is that when I do a GET to my servlet, I get back a 404 error. Here's my config and a representative java snippet from a Controller: web.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <web-app version="2.5" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd"> <display-name>SightLogix Coordination System</display-name> <description>SightLogix Coordination System</description> <servlet> <servlet-name>Spring MVC Dispatcher Servlet</servlet-name> <servlet-class>org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet</servlet-class> <init-param> <param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name> <param-value> /WEB-INF/application-context.xml /WEB-INF/application-security.xml </param-value> </init-param> <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>Spring MVC Dispatcher Servlet</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/slcs/*</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> <context-param> <param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name> <param-value> /WEB-INF/application-context.xml /WEB-INF/application-security.xml </param-value> </context-param> <listener> <listener-class> org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener </listener-class> </listener> <filter> <filter-name>springSecurityFilterChain</filter-name> <filter-class>org.springframework.web.filter.DelegatingFilterProxy</filter-class> </filter> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>springSecurityFilterChain</filter-name> <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> </filter-mapping> </web-app> application-context.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:mvc="http://www.springframework.org/schema/mvc" xmlns:context="http://www.springframework.org/schema/context" xsi:schemaLocation=" http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd http://www.springframework.org/schema/mvc http://www.springframework.org/schema/mvc/spring-mvc-3.0.xsd http://www.springframework.org/schema/context http://www.springframework.org/schema/context/spring-context-3.0.xsd" default-init-method="init" default-destroy-method="destroy"> <mvc:annotation-driven /> <context:component-scan base-package="top.level" /> </beans> application-security.xml: <beans:beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/security" xmlns:beans="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd http://www.springframework.org/schema/security http://www.springframework.org/schema/security/spring-security-3.0.xsd"> <http> <intercept-url pattern="/**" access="ROLE_MANAGER" requires-channel="https" /> <http-basic /> </http> <authentication-manager> <authentication-provider user-service-ref="myUserDetailsService"> <password-encoder hash="sha"/> </authentication-provider> </authentication-manager> <beans:bean id="myUserDetailsService" class="path.to.my.UserDetailsServiceImpl"> </beans:bean> </beans:beans> Snippet of a Controller class (one of many, but they all look essentially like this): @Controller @RequestMapping("/foo.xml") public class FooController { @RequestMapping(method=RequestMethod.GET) public void handleGET(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws IOException { ...   • hibernate criteria OneToMany, ManyToOne and List

    - by jrsokolow
    Hi, I have three entities ClassA, ClassB and ClassC. ClassA { ... @Id @GeneratedValue @Column(name = "a_id") private long id; ... @OneToMany(cascade={CascadeType.ALL}) @JoinColumn(name="a_id") private List<ClassB> bbb; ... } ClassB { ... @ManyToOne private ClassC ccc; ... } ClassC { ... private String name; ... } I want to filter by hibernate criteria ClassA by 'name' member of ClassC. So I want to obtain by hibernate criteria list of ClassA objects which have inside ClassC objects with specified name. Problem is that access to ClassC objects is through ClassB list. I tried something like this but it does not work: crit.createCriteria("bbb").createCriteria("ccc").add(Restrictions.ilike("name", name, MatchMode.ANYWHERE)); I will be grateful for help.

  • jqgrid ASP.NET MVC -- getting data right for the grid.

    - by SamM09
    Here is my dilemma, I have not been able to manipulate my data to a form fitting to jqgrid standards. This is my first time using the jqgrid and I've spent a lot of time reading up on it. My js code is as follows: jQuery("#list").jqGrid({ url: '/Home/ListContacts/', dataType: "json", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", mtype: 'POST', colNames: ['First Name', 'MI', 'Last Name'], colModel: [ { name: 'First Name', index: 'FName', width: 40, align: 'left' }, { name: 'MI', index: 'MInitial', width: 40, align: 'left' }, { name: 'Last Name', index: 'LName', width: 400, align: 'left'}], pager: jQuery('#pager'), rowNum: 10, rowList: [5, 10, 20, 50], sortname: 'Id', sortorder: "desc", repeatitems: false, viewrecords: true, imgpath: '/scripts/themes/basic/images', caption: 'My first grid' }); }); what im getting from the database: [["4","Jenna","Mccarthy"],["56","wer","weoiru"]] Now correct me if I am wrong, but the index: in my colModel refers to the column names in my database right? Could someone point to a reference that is straight forward or just start me off with this I would be most grateful.

  • adding nodes to a binary search tree randomly deletes nodes

    - by SDLFunTimes
    Hi, stack. I've got a binary tree of type TYPE (TYPE is a typedef of data*) that can add and remove elements. However for some reason certain values added will overwrite previous elements. Here's my code with examples of it inserting without overwriting elements and it not overwriting elements. the data I'm storing: struct data { int number; char *name; }; typedef struct data data; # ifndef TYPE # define TYPE data* # define TYPE_SIZE sizeof(data*) # endif The tree struct: struct Node { TYPE val; struct Node *left; struct Node *rght; }; struct BSTree { struct Node *root; int cnt; }; The comparator for the data. int compare(TYPE left, TYPE right) { int left_len; int right_len; int shortest_string; /* find longest string */ left_len = strlen(left->name); right_len = strlen(right->name); if(right_len < left_len) { shortest_string = right_len; } else { shortest_string = left_len; } /* compare strings */ if(strncmp(left->name, right->name, shortest_string) > 1) { return 1; } else if(strncmp(left->name, right->name, shortest_string) < 1) { return -1; } else { /* strings are equal */ if(left->number > right->number) { return 1; } else if(left->number < right->number) { return -1; } else { return 0; } } } And the add method struct Node* _addNode(struct Node* cur, TYPE val) { if(cur == NULL) { /* no root has been made */ cur = _createNode(val); return cur; } else { int cmp; cmp = compare(cur->val, val); if(cmp == -1) { /* go left */ if(cur->left == NULL) { printf("adding on left node val %d\n", cur->val->number); cur->left = _createNode(val); } else { return _addNode(cur->left, val); } } else if(cmp >= 0) { /* go right */ if(cur->rght == NULL) { printf("adding on right node val %d\n", cur->val->number); cur->rght = _createNode(val); } else { return _addNode(cur->rght, val); } } return cur; } } void addBSTree(struct BSTree *tree, TYPE val) { tree->root = _addNode(tree->root, val); tree->cnt++; } The function to print the tree: void printTree(struct Node *cur) { if (cur == 0) { printf("\n"); } else { printf("("); printTree(cur->left); printf(" %s, %d ", cur->val->name, cur->val->number); printTree(cur->rght); printf(")\n"); } } Here's an example of some data that will overwrite previous elements: struct BSTree myTree; struct data myData1, myData2, myData3; myData1.number = 5; myData1.name = "rooty"; myData2.number = 1; myData2.name = "lefty"; myData3.number = 10; myData3.name = "righty"; initBSTree(&myTree); addBSTree(&myTree, &myData1); addBSTree(&myTree, &myData2); addBSTree(&myTree, &myData3); printTree(myTree.root); Which will print: (( righty, 10 ) lefty, 1 ) Finally here's some test data that will go in the exact same spot as the previous data, but this time no data is overwritten: struct BSTree myTree; struct data myData1, myData2, myData3; myData1.number = 5; myData1.name = "i"; myData2.number = 5; myData2.name = "h"; myData3.number = 5; myData3.name = "j"; initBSTree(&myTree); addBSTree(&myTree, &myData1); addBSTree(&myTree, &myData2); addBSTree(&myTree, &myData3); printTree(myTree.root); Which prints: (( j, 5 ) i, 5 ( h, 5 ) ) Does anyone know what might be going wrong? Sorry if this post was kind of long.

  • Lua Alien Module - Trouble using WriteProcessMemory function, unsure on types (unit32)

    - by jefferysanders
    require "alien" --the address im trying to edit in the Mahjong game on Win7 local SCOREREF = 0x0744D554 --this should give me full access to the process local ACCESS = 0x001F0FFF --this is my process ID for my open window of Mahjong local PID = 1136 --function to open proc local op = alien.Kernel32.OpenProcess op:types{ ret = "pointer", abi = "stdcall"; "int", "int", "int"} --function to write to proc mem local wm = alien.Kernel32.WriteProcessMemory wm:types{ ret = "long", abi = "stdcall"; "pointer", "pointer", "pointer", "long", "pointer" } local pRef = op(ACCESS, true, PID) local buf = alien.buffer("99") -- ptr,uint32,byte arr (no idea what to make this),int, ptr print( wm( pRef, SCOREREF, buf, 4, nil)) --prints 1 if success, 0 if failed So that is my code. I am not even sure if I have the types set correctly. I am completely lost and need some guidance. I really wish there was more online help/documentation for alien, it confuses my poor brain. What utterly baffles me is that it WriteProcessMemory will sometimes complete successfully (though it does nothing at all, to my knowledge) and will also sometimes fail to complete successfully. As I've stated, my brain hurts. Any help appreciated.

  • What is the `name` keyword in JavaScript?

    - by Joey Adams
    When I typed this apparently innocent snippet of code: values.name gedit highlighted name as a keyword. However, name is not listed by the pages linked to by an answer to a question about reserved keywords. I also did a couple trivial tests in SpiderMonkey, but name seemed to act like an ordinary identifier. A Google search didn't tell me much either. However, I did find a page listing name in "Other JavaScript Keywords". My guess is that name is a function or a member of some DOM element and does not intrude on the namespace. Is name really a keyword in JavaScript? If so, what does it do?

  • Algorithm for parsing a flat tree into a non-flat tree

I'm looking for steps (eg. build an associative array; loop through the array looking for x; etc.).

  • Zend RegEx Validator error message issue

    - by Mallika Iyer
    Hello, I'm validating a text field in my form as follows: $name = new Zend_Form_Element_Text('name'); $name->setLabel('First Name:') ->setRequired(true) ->addFilter(new Zend_Filter_StringTrim()) ->addValidator('regex',true,array('/^[(a-zA-Z0-9)]+$/')) ->addErrorMessage('Please enter a valid first name'); What I'm trying to accomplish is - how can i display a meaningful error message? Eg: If first name is 'XYZ-', how can i display '- is not allowed in first name.' Is there a way I can access what character the regex is failing for? Would you recommend something else altogether? I thought about writing a custom validator but the regex is pretty simple, so I don't see the point. I couldn't find a decent documentation for the zend 'regex' validator anywhere. If I don't override the default error message, I simple get something like : ';;;hhbhbhb' does not match against pattern '/^[(a-zA-Z0-9)]+$/' - which I obviously don't want to display to the user. I'd appreciate your inputs.

  • [PHP] Difference between normal and magic setters and getters

    - by Saif Bechan
    I am using a magic getter/setter class for my session variables, but I don't see any difference between normal setters and getters. The code: class session { public function __set($name, $value) { $_SESSION[$name] = $value; } public function __unset($name) { unset($_SESSION[$name]); } public function __get($name) { if(isset($_SESSION[$name])) { return $_SESSION[$name]; } } } Now the first thing I noticed is that I have to call $session->_unset('var_name') to remove the variable, nothing 'magical' about that. Secondly when I try to use $session->some_var this does not work. I can only get the session variable using $_SESSION['some_var']. I have looked at the PHP manual but the functions look the same as mine. Am I doing something wrong, or is there not really anything magic about these functions.

  • Create a Python User() class that both creates new users and modifies existing users

    I'm trying to figure out the best way to create a class that can modify and create new users all in one. This is what I'm thinking: class User(object): def __init__(self,user_id): if user_id == -1 self.new_user = True else: self.new_user = False #fetch all records from db about user_id self._populateUser() def commit(self): if self.new_user: #Do INSERTs else: #Do UPDATEs def delete(self): if self.new_user == False: return False #Delete user code here def _populate(self): #Query self.user_id from database and #set all instance variables, e.g. #self.name = row['name'] def getFullName(self): return self.name #Create a new user >>u = User() >>u.name = 'Jason Martinez' >>u.password = 'linebreak' >>u.commit() >>print u.getFullName() >>Jason Martinez #Update existing user >>u = User(43) >>u.name = 'New Name Here' >>u.commit() >>print u.getFullName() >>New Name Here Is this a logical and clean way to do this? Is there a better way? Thanks.

  • Difference between normal and magic setters and getters

  • ruby on rails delajed_job failing with rvm

    - by mottalrd
    I have delayed_job installed and I start the daemon to run the jobs with this ruby script require 'rubygems' require 'daemon_spawn' $: << '.' RAILS_ROOT = File.expand_path(File.join(File.dirname(__FILE__), '..')) class DelayedJobWorker < DaemonSpawn::Base def start(args) ENV['RAILS_ENV'] ||= args.first || 'development' Dir.chdir RAILS_ROOT require File.join('config', 'environment') Delayed::Worker.new.start end def stop system("kill `cat #{RAILS_ROOT}/tmp/pids/delayed_job.pid`") end end DelayedJobWorker.spawn!(:log_file => File.join(RAILS_ROOT, "log", "delayed_job.log"), :pid_file => File.join(RAILS_ROOT, 'tmp', 'pids', 'delayed_job.pid'), :sync_log => true, :working_dir => RAILS_ROOT) If I run the command with rvmsudo it works perfectly If I simply use the ruby command without rvm it fails and this is the output, but I have no idea why this happens. Could you give me some clue? Thank you user@mysystem:~/redeal.it/application$ ruby script/delayed_job start production /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p194/gems/daemon-spawn-0.4.2/lib/daemon_spawn.rb:16:in `kill': Operation not permitted (Errno::EPERM) from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p194/gems/daemon-spawn-0.4.2/lib/daemon_spawn.rb:16:in `alive?' from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p194/gems/daemon-spawn-0.4.2/lib/daemon_spawn.rb:125:in `alive?' from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p194/gems/daemon-spawn-0.4.2/lib/daemon_spawn.rb:176:in `block in start' from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p194/gems/daemon-spawn-0.4.2/lib/daemon_spawn.rb:176:in `select' from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p194/gems/daemon-spawn-0.4.2/lib/daemon_spawn.rb:176:in `start' from /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p194/gems/daemon-spawn-0.4.2/lib/daemon_spawn.rb:165:in `spawn!' from script/delayed_job:37:in `<main>'
