  • Editing gtk theme (adding a border)

    - by chadgh
    I am using a GTK theme which I love except that it doesn't have borders around the windows. If I am on a web page (for example) with a white background and my wallpaper is white I don't know where the web page starts. What is worse, sometimes that type of thing happens with other windows, where I can't tell where the one window start and the other ends. Is there a way to edit GTK themes? More specifically, is there a way to edit a theme so that it will display a border around windows?

  • Help to understand directions of sprites in XNA

    - by 3Dkreativ
    If I want to move a sprite to the right and upwards in a 45 degree angle I use Vector2 direction = new Vector2(1,-1); And if the sprite should move straight to right Vector2 direction = new Vector2(1,0); But how would I do if I want another directions, lets say somewhere between this values? I have tested with some other values, but then the sprite either moves to fast and or in another direction than I expected!? I suspect it's about normalize!? Another thing I have problem with to understand. I'm doing a simple asteroids game as a task in a class in C# and XNA. When the asteroids hit the window borders, I want them to bounce back in a random direction, but I can't do this before I understand how directions and Vector2 works. Help is preciated! Thanks!

  • jquery Plugins/Validation using submitHandler

    - by Eyla
    Greeting, I'm using jquery Plugins/Validation library. I want to allow validation on submitting but I'm not sure where I should insert the code: I know that I can user submitHandler for that but after reading the document I had hard time to implement it so I need your help guys. jquery validation is working ok but the problem that the form still submitted even there are invalid inputs. here is my validation function and I want to know how can I make it to not submit the form if there is invalid input. by the way, I'm using asp.net button for submitting the form. here is my code: $(document).ready(function() { $("#aspnetForm").validate({ rules: { "<%=txtHomePhone.UniqueID %>": { phonehome: true }, "<%=txtMobileHome.UniqueID %>": { mobilephone: true }, "<%=txtFaxHome.UniqueID %>": { faxhome: true }, "<%=txtEmailHome.UniqueID %>": { email: true }, "<%=txtZipCodeHome.UniqueID %>": { ziphome: true }, //work "<%=txtPhonework.UniqueID %>": { phonework: true }, "<%=txtMobileWork.UniqueID %>": { mobilework: true }, "<%=txtFaxWork.UniqueID %>": { faxwork: true }, "<%=txtEmailWork.UniqueID %>": { email: true }, "<%=txtWebSite.UniqueID %>": { url: true }, "<%=txtZipWork.UniqueID %>": { zipwork: true } }, errorElement: "mydiv", wrapper: "mydiv", // a wrapper around the error message errorPlacement: function(error, element) { offset = element.offset(); error.insertBefore(element) error.addClass('message'); // add a class to the wrapper error.css('position', 'absolute'); error.css('left', offset.left + element.outerWidth()); error.css('top', offset.top - (element.height() / 2)); } });

  • Version control a content management system?

    - by Mike
    I have the following directory structure in the CMS application we have written: /application /modules /cms /filemanager /block /pages /sitemap /youtube /rss /skin /backend /default /css /js /images /frontend /default /css /js /images Application contains code specific to the current CMS implementation, i.e code for this specific cms. Modules contain reusable portions of code that we share across projects, such as libraries to work with youtube or rss feeds. We include these as git submodules, so that we can update the module in any website and push the changes back across all other projects. It makes it really easy to apply a change to our code and distribute it. We wanted to turn the CMS into a module so we get the same benefit - we can run the entire project under source control, then update the cms as required through a git-submodule. We have run into a problem however: the cms requires javascript/images/css in order for it to work correctly. Things we have thought about: We could create 2 submodules, one for cms-skin and one for cms, but this means you cannot "git pull" one version without having some idea of which versions of skin work with which versions of cms. i.e version 1.2.2 CMS might have issues with 1.0.3 CMS-Skin We could add the skin to the cms module but this has the following problems: Skin should be available on the document root, module code shouldn't be, and if it is it should probably be secured via .htaccess It doesn't seem to make any sense bundling assets with php code We could create a symlink between /skin/backend/ to go to /modules/cms/skin but does this cause any security problems, and do we want to require something like a symlink for the application to work? We could create a hook for git or a shell script that copies files from modules/cms/skin to skin/backend when an update occurs, but this means we lose the ability to edit CMS core files in a project then push them back How is this typically done in large scale cms's? How is it possible to get the source code for a cms under version control, work on the application for a client, then update the sourcecode as releases and given by the vendor? How do applications like Magento or Drupal do this?

  • How to manage Javascript modules in django templates?

    - by John Mee
    Lets say we want a library of javascript-based pieces of functionality (I'm thinking jquery): For example: an ajax dialog a date picker a form validator a sliding menu bar an accordian thingy There are four pieces of code for each: some Python, CSS, JS, & HTML. What is the best way to arrange all these pieces so that: each javascript 'module' can be neatly reused by different views the four bits of code that make up the completed function stay together the css/js/html parts appear in their correct places in the response common dependencies between modules are not repeated (eg: a javascript file in common) x-------------- It would be nice if, or is there some way to ensure that, when called from a templatetag, the templates respected the {% block %} directives. Thus one could create a single template with a block each for CSS, HTML, and JS, in a single file. Invoke that via a templatetag which is called from the template of whichever view wants it. That make any sense. Can that be done some way already? My templatetag templates seem to ignore the {% block %} directives. x-------------- There's some very relevant gasbagging about putting such media in forms here http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/topics/forms/media/ which probably apply to the form validator and date picker examples.

  • Suggestions for entering mobile development -- pure iPhone SDK, Android SDK, Mono Touch or Titanium

    - by Tom Cabanski
    I am entering mobile development. I have been working primarily in .NET since 1.0 came out in beta. Before that, I was mostly a C++ and Delphi guy and still dabble in C++ from time to time. I do web apps quite a bit so I am reasonably proficient with Javascript, JQuery and CSS. I have also done a few Java applications. I started web programming with CGI and live mostly in the ASP.NET MVC world these days. I am trying to decide on which platform/OS and tool to select. I am concerned with the size of the market available for my applications as well as the marketibility of the skills I will pick up. The apps I have in mind would work on both phones and pads. Some aspects of what I have in mind will play better on the bigger screens that will be available on pads. Here are the options I am considering: Apple iPhone/iPad using pure Apple SDK (Objective-C) Apple iPhone/iPad using Mono Touch (C#) Android using pure Android SDK (Java) Multiple platforms using something like Titanium to generate native apps from web technologies (HTML, CSS and Javascript) Multiple platforms using HTML5 web applications that run in the browser (HTML, CSS and Javascript). Which option would you choose? Do you have a different suggestion? What are the pros and cons?

  • sIfr (3.436) and IE8 - My h1 and h2 are flickering

    - by André
    I am using sIfr (3.436) for my H1 and H2 tags. In IE8 the text flickers and jumps around alot. See example: http://www.addenergy.no/drilling-production/category352.html I have tried various font-tuning as explained at Wiki.Novemberborn, but can't get a good result. Any help to lead in the right direction is appreciated! The sifr-config.js looks like this (h1/h2 is basically the same): sIFR.fitExactly = true; sIFR.fixWrap = true; sIFR.forceWidth = true; sIFR.replace(fedraSerif, { selector: '#placeholder-top h1', css: '.sIFR-root { background-color: #FFFFFF; color: #000000; }', ratios: [8, (...), 1.26] }); And sifr.css (bottom): @media screen { .sIFR-active #placeholder-top h1 { visibility: hidden; font-family: Verdana; font-size:2.5em; line-height:40px; } .sIFR-active #placeholder-top h2 { visibility: hidden; font-family: Verdana; font-size:2em; line-height:30px; } } My style.css (general for the site has): html, body { font-family: Verdana, Arial, Sans-serif; margin: 0; padding: 0; color: #333; background: #cccccc url('images/background.gif') repeat-y top center; } h1 { font-size: 35px; line-height: 40px; } #placeholder-top h1 { margin: 20px 120px 10px 5px; font-size:2.5em; display:block; line-height: 40px; } h2 { line-height: 30px; color: #009bdb; } #placeholder-top h2 { margin: 0px 120px 20px 5px; font-size:2em; display:block; line-height: 30px; }

  • Why is Raphael.JS creating paper with dimensions 1000x1000?

    - by Bryan
    I have a demo using raphael.js. The code for it is very simple but when viewed in Internet Explorer (less that version 9) I get a Raphael canvas that is 1000px by 1000px and I can't figure out why. I'm using version 1.5.2 of Raphael. Code below: HTML <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta charset="UTF-8"> <title>Raphael Test</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="test.css"> <link href="../shared/img/favicon.png" rel="shortcut icon"> </head> <body> <div id="graph"></div> <script src="../shared/js/raphael/raphael-min.js" type="text/javascript"> </script> <script src="test.js" type="text/javascript"> </script> </body> </html> CSS /* Graph */ #graph { padding: 5px; width: 477px; height: 299; } JS var holder = document.getElementById('graph') , width = holder.scrollWidth , height = Math.round(width * 0.5625) + 25 , p = Raphael(10, 50, width, height) , c = p.circle(p.width - 50, p.height - 50, 50); alert(p.width + ' & ' + p.height); I found a discussion in Raphael's Google group with the same problem but no resolution.

  • Simple first-child js?

    - by Glister
    Searching for a simple first-child detection via javascript (no framework). It should add some class for the first child of the element. Like a css-hacks for ie, but in javascript and for a html file. Must work similar to :first-child When I say no framework, I mean some code like this: <script type="text/javascript">document.documentElement.id = "js"</script> For example: <div class="terms"> <dl> <dt>Term 1 name</dt> <dd>Term 1 description</dd> </dl> <dl> <dt>Term 2 name</dt> <dd>Term 2 description</dd> </dl> <dl> <dt>Term 3 name</dt> <dd>Term 3 description</dd> </dl> </div> Three <dl>, the first one includes Term 1. This css won't work in IE6, thats why I'm searching for a javascript solution. CSS-hacks are not allowed. .terms dl:first-child { float: right; }

  • JQUERY: Setting Active state on animated menu tabs

    - by Tony
    I have image sprites that use JQuery to set the BG position on mouseover and mouseout events. When I set the active state BG position using JQUERY it works fine until I move my cursor away from the active 'tab' which then fires the mouseout event animation. What I want is the mouseClick event to stop the animation on the active tab but still allow the animation effect to work on the other tabs, and when another tab is clicked for the active state to be removed from the current tab to the new 'active' tab. JQuery $(function(){ /* This script changes main nav links hover state*/ $('.navigation a') .css( {backgroundPosition: "-1px -120px"} ) .mouseover(function(){ $(this).stop().animate({backgroundPosition:"(-1px -240px)"}, {duration:400}) }) .mouseout(function(){ $(this).stop().animate({backgroundPosition:"(-1px -120px)"}, {duration:400, complete:function (){ $(this).css({backgroundPosition: "-1px -120px"}) }}) }) }); $(document).ready(function(){ $("a").click(function(){ $(this).css({backgroundPosition: "-1px -235px"}); }); }); HTML <ul class="navigation"> <li><a href="#index" tabindex="10" title="Home" id="homeButton"></a></li> <li><a href="#about" tabindex="20" title="About us" id="aboutButton"></a></li> <li><a href="#facilities" tabindex="30" title="Our facilities and opening Times" id="facilitiesButton"></a></li> <li><a href="#advice" tabindex="40" title="Advice and useful links" c id="adviceButton"></a></li> <li><a href="#find" tabindex="50" title="How to find Us" id="findButton"></a></li> <li><a href="#contact" tabindex="60" title="Get in touch with us" id="contactButton"></a></li> </ul> You can see what I've got so far here Thanks in advance for any help

  • Nested URLs and Rewrite rules in Apache2

    - by Radha Krishna. S.
    Hi, I need some help with rewrite rules and nested URLs. I am using TikiWiki for my website and am in the process of setting up SE friendly URLs for my projects. Specifically, I have the following rewrite rule for www.example.com/projects to point to a page that lists out all the projects hosted in example. RewriteRule ^Projects$ articles?type=Project [L] This works fine. Now, I would like to point www.example.com/projects/project1 to point to a specific project. I have this rewrite rule RewriteRule ^(Projects/Project1)$ tiki-read_article.php?articleId=6 This works, but partially. The content is all rendered as text but the theme - images/ css etc all go for a toss - the page is completely in text. I understand that this happens 'cause the relative paths in the theme/ css/ images all refer to Projects as the base folder instead of the root of the website. I don't want to touch the CMS portion - change the theme/ css/ image paths in the files, more for reasons of upgradability. Can someone help me understand and write a rule so that the above nested URL works? Regards, Radha

  • jQuery click event on IE7-8, does not execute on the div, only on its text

    - by user3665301
    I have a problem using the jQuery click event with IE7-8-9. I apply the event on a div. But on these two IE versions, I have to click on the text contained within the div to make the event work. I don't understand because it was still normally working on these versions until I made a few changes (like adding the font css properties) but when I try to delete these changes it stil does not work as I want; Here is a jsfiddle illustrating the situation and its full screen result. http://jsfiddle.net/rC632/ function clickEvent(){ $('.answerDiv').click(function(){ $( "div:animated" ).stop(); if ( idPreviousClick === $(this)[0].id) { } else { if (idPreviousClick != -1) { $("#"+idPreviousClick).css({height:'100px', width:'100px', top:'0', 'line-height': '100px'}); $("#"+idPreviousClick).parent().css({height:'100px', width:'100px', top:'0'}); } $(this).animate({height:'120px', width:'120px', 'line-height': '120px'}); $(this).parent().animate({height:'120px', width:'120px', top:'-10px'}); idPreviousClick = $(this)[0].id; } }); } $(document).ready(function(){ clickEvent(); }); var idPreviousClick = -1; http://jsfiddle.net/rC632/embedded/result/ Could you have any idea of what is missing ? • CKEditor instance in a jQuery dialog

    - by Gazillion
    Hey, I am using jQuery to open a dialog window with a textarea transformed into an instance of CKEditor. I'm using the jQuery adapter provided by the CKEditor team but when the dialog window opens up I cannot interact with the editor (it's created but "null" is written in the content space and I can't click on anything or modify the content). This bug report seems to say that by using a patch provided the issue is fixed but it doesn't seem to be working for me... Here's my code (maybe I did something wrong programmatically): HTML: <div id="ad_div" title="Analyse documentaire"> <textarea id="ad_content" name="ad_content"></textarea> </div> My includes (Everything is included correctly but maybe it's an including order issue?): <script type="text/javascript" src="includes/ckeditor/ckeditor.js"></script> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="includes/jquery/css/custom-theme/jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.css" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="includes/jquery/js/jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="includes/jquery/js/jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="includes/jquery/plugins/dialog-patch.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="includes/ckeditor/adapters/jquery.js"></script> Javascript: $('#ad_content').ckeditor(); /* snip */ $('#ad_div').dialog( { modal: true, resizable: false, draggable: false, position: ['center','center'], width: 600, height: 500, hide: 'slide', show: 'slide', closeOnEscape: true, autoOpen: false }); $('.analyse_cell').click(function(){ $('#ad_div').dialog('open'); });

    Is this a good method to save to all index in a variable and then echo this? for example <?php $txt='<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-9" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/style.css"/> <title>Untitled Document</title> </head> <body> <div class="wrapper"> <div class="header"> <h2>'.heaf_func().'</h2> </div> <div class="content">content</div> <div class="footer">footer</div> </div> </body> </html>'; echo $txt; ?>

  • semi dynamic cdn

    - by dwi kristianto
    i'm developing couple of websites using php (directory script, etc.) and wordpress as cms. i need to improve its performance, by using cdn for static files (css, js, images). the problem is, css and javascript files are generated on the fly. i did that due to yahoo and some expert advice to combine the files into one file. also changing basic color of css files. for the time being, i use couple of small vps but still its not fast enough. i already contact maxcdn and the support guy said that they dont have such kind of services. what i need is: a cdn that will serve the request from user/visitor and there's no file in local disk, the cdn will redirect/fetch it from another domain/server. in vps, it could be done easily using combination of .htaccess and php, but NOT in the cdn. most of cdn only support purely static files. is there any such cdn that will server semi-dynamic files?

  • Windows Sidebar gadget - cannont access a div in Flyout DOM

    - by cyrix86
    In the main gadget html, there is a div with an onclick that calls this method in the Gadget script file: ShowFlyout = function() { System.Gadget.Flyout.show = true; var flyoutDoc = System.Gadget.Flyout.document; var mainFlyoutDiv = flyoutDoc.getElementById('divFlyout'); mainFlyoutDiv.innerHTML = "hello"; } Here is the Flyout html: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>This is a flyout</title> <link href="Css\FlyoutStyle.css" type="text/css" rel="Stylesheet" /> </head> <body> <div id="divFlyout" > </div> </body> </html> The problem is that mainFlyoutDiv is always null. When peering into the System.Gadget.Flyout.document object through the debugger, the body parameter is null - I don't think that's right. The System.Gadget.Flyout.file value is being set elsewhere when the gadget first loads. What am I doing wrong? Also, does the System.Gadget.Flyout.show property have to be true before the System.Gadget.Flyout.document property can be accessed? My ultimate goal is to open a flyout and dynamically populate it's html

  • Content-disposition:inline header won't show images inline?

    - by hamstar
    I'm trying to show an image inline on a page. It is being served by a codeigniter controller. class Asset extends MY_Controller { function index( $folder, $file ) { $asset = "assets/$folder/$file"; if ( !file_exists( $asset ) ) { show_404(); return; } switch ( $folder ) { case 'css': header('Content-type: text/css'); break; case 'js': header('Content-type: text/javascript'); break; case 'images': $ext = substr( $file, strrpos($file, '.') ); switch ( $ext ) { case 'jpg': $ext = 'jpeg'; break; case 'svg': $ext = 'svg+xml'; break; } header('Content-Disposition: inline'); header('Content-type: image/'.$ext); } readfile( $asset ); } } When I load a image in Chrome of FF its pops up the download window. I know when the browser can't display the content inline it will force a download anyway, but these are PNG and GIF images which display in the browser fine otherwise. In IE it doesn't force a download but it displays the image in ASCII. If I comment out the entire image case it FF and Chrome both display the ASCII but not the image. I thought setting the content type would allow FF and Chrome to show the actual image, and also allow the location to be used as an src. The javascript and css shows fine of course. Anyone got any ideas how I can make the images show properly? Thanks :)
