• Custom CallOut not displayed correctly in ios6?

  As i want to implement the custom call out in the mkmapview i am using these classes CalloutMapAnnotationView.h and CalloutMapAnnotationView.m I have extracted these classes from the following links https://github.com/asalom/Custom-Map-Annotation-Callouts/blob/master/Classes/CalloutMapAnnotationView.h https://github.com/asalom/Custom-Map-Annotation-Callouts/blob/master/Classes/CalloutMapAnnotationView.m These work fine in ios5 but in ios6 when i am clicking on the call out the map view is moving and call out is not showing correctly as shown in the below figures while i was zooming also its not coming correctly i have tried several ways to get rid out of this problem by checking the version of os and tried to change the some of the methods in the classes but of not use. After implementing these in ios5 map view coming like this In Ios6 This one not coming properly as like in ios5. for example

• Remote XML retrieval

  I'm retrieving a remote XML file with wget -O remotefile localfile with a cron tab. Every so often the local file becomes malformed probably because of double whitespace (according to firefox) between the CDATA tags. Sometimes the parser gives an error for ' > ' missing, but upon checking the xml file the ' > ' exists... The remote xml file never gives malformed errors when called in the url. EDIT It seems CDATA is not parsed by the xml parser. (w3schools) Is there a way to set wget to retain wellformed XML? If not wget, What is a good way to continously retrieve a remote XML file and keep it well formed?

• How to prevent the beep sound caused by alt key pressed in a WinForms TextBox?

  I'm creating a routine that allows the user to replicate keyboard shortcuts into a textbox for 'custom keyboard shortcuts' customization, but every time the alt key is pressed with another letter, it produces another sound. I'm capturing the keys in the textbox_keydown event to parse the modifiers + other keys into a readable Shift + A or Ctrl + Shift + B manner into that very same textbox. Should I be doing this in a different event like textbox_previewkey instead of textbox_keydown? How can I prevent the alt modifier key + a letter or number causing the Beep sound? the textbox is just a normal .net 3.5 textbox with the only edited properties of it being the ReadOnly property to false. Is there a better way I could re-do this? I'm currently just checking that if any modifiers keys are pressed and then + a-z or 0-9, then to go ahead and input the appropriately pressed keys into that same textbox like Shift + A or Ctrl + Shift + Y.

  I've got a .js file that has this function in it: function showDialog(divID) { var dialogDiv = $(divID); dialogDiv.dialog ( { bgiframe: true, modal: true, autoOpen: false, show: 'blind' } ) And in my page this: <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $("input.invokeDialog").click.showDialog("#testDialog"); }); </script> I'm trying to figure out why it doesn't recognize my showDialog function. Is it not possible to reference it with the dot as I am doing? Do I need a jQuery specific function or syntax for it to know that it's a jQuery function or is there no such thing?

• How do set default values in django for an HttpRequest.GET?

  I have a webpage that displays data based on a default date. The user can then change their view of the data by slecting a date with a date picker and clicking a submit button. I already have a variable set so that if no date is chosen, a default date is used.... so what's the problem? The problem comes if the user trys to type in the url page without a parameter... like so: http://mywebpage/viewdata (example A) instead of http://mywebpage/viewdata?date= (example B) I tried using: if request.method == 'GET': but apparently, even example A still returns true. I'm sure I'm doing some obvious beginner's mistake but I'll ask anyway... Is there a simpler way to handle example A other than passing the url to a string and checking the string for "?date="?

• How do I pass (by value) a struct in Objective-C?

  This one has been driving me mad! I have a struct: typedef struct{ int a; }myStruct; Then I have: myStruct tempStruct; I am trying to pass the struct to a class method whose implementation is: - (void) myFunc:(struct myStruct)oneOfMyStructs{}; I call the method like so: [myClass myFunc:(struct myStruct)tempStruct]; The compiler complains about "Conversion to non-scalar type requested." All I want to do is pass a struct into a class method, but the syntax has me a bit confused. I'm new to Objective-C. Please let me know if you can see where I'm going wrong. I've not been able to pass by reference either, so if you could help me out with that, that would be great! Thanks!

• ASP.NET DropDownList Replacement

  Currently, I'm populating a drop down list when a file is created in a configurable folder. if (!downloadRspDropDown.Items.Contains(new ListItem(txt, fileData.FullName)) Then, I add the file and remove "No Responses Available". However, if the same file is resubmitted (i.e., the file name is the same but the timestamp is different), then I want to remove the older entry and replace it with a new entry in the drop down list. I have the filename, so I go into the "else" block from the line of code above. From there, I'm checking to see if I have the same filename and a different creation time. if (downloadRspDropDown.Items.Contains(new ListItem(txt, fileData.FullName) && downloadRspDropDown.Items.Contains(new ListItem(txt, fileData.CreationTime) From here, I want to find the position, remove it, and add the new text. This approach isn't working. Can anyone offer an alternate approach?

• Using PowerShell class to invoke a "[namespace.class]::method" style command

  Hello, I created a powershell object via .net to invoke commands. When I invoke normal commands like 'Get-Process' I had no problems: ps.AddCommand("Get-Process").AddParameter(...).Invoke() but I'm not able to invoke a .net method with the syntax "[namespace.class]::method", just to make an example to invoke [System.IO.File]::Exists("c:\boo.txt"). I tried with ps.AddCommand("[System.IO.File]::Exists(\"c:\\boo.txt\")").Invoke() ps.AddCommand("[System.IO.File]::Exists").AddArgument("c:\\boo.txt").Invoke() and some others. It always throws an exception which says that the command specified is not recognized. There is a way to invoke that type of command? Thanks

  Hi, I'm looking for a way to share some iPhone SDK source code I have with others. Goals: Share iPhone SDK source code, Objective C written in XCode. I have a good bit of source code I want to share. I'd like for it to be easy. I'd like for it to have syntax highlighting, by this I mean coloring and formatting Ideally it would allow me some room to make it "fit" into my site. I want it to look like basically another page on my site where the content is the code. It shouldn't be just a text file in other words.   I have a long running function that should be inserting new rows. How do I check the progress of this function? I was thinking dirty reads would work so I read http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.4/interactive/sql-set-transaction.html and came up with the following code and ran it in a new session: SET SESSION CHARACTERISTICS AS SERIALIZABLE; SELECT * FROM MyTable; Postgres gives me a syntax error. What am I doing wrong? If I do it right, will I see the inserted records while that long function is still running? Thanks

  I have a lot of SQL queries like this: SELECT o.Id, o.attrib1, o.attrib2 FROM table1 o WHERE o.Id IN ( SELECT DISTINCT Id FROM table1, table2, table3 WHERE ... ) These queries have to run on different database engines (MySql, Oracle, DB2, MS-Sql, Hypersonic), so I can only use common SQL syntax. Here I read, that with MySql the IN statement isn't optimized and it's really slow, so I want to switch this into a JOIN. I tried: SELECT o.Id, o.attrib1, o.attrib2 FROM table1 o, table2, table3 WHERE ... But this does not take into account the DISTINCT keyword. Question: How do I get rid of the duplicate rows using the JOIN approach?

  I'm trying to share a repository between my Mac (laptop) and PC (desktop). There are some external dependencies for the project that are stored on different places on each machine, and noted in the .classpath file in the Eclipse project. When the project changes are shared, the dependencies break. I'm trying to figure out how to keep this from happening. I've tried using .hgignore with the following settings, among others, without success: syntax: glob *.classpath Based on this question, it appears that the .hgignore file will not allow Mercurial to ignore files that are also committed to the repository. Is there another way around this? Other ways to configure the project to make it work?

• Deploying a .Net App Source Control (SVN) over 32-bit AND 64-bit dev stations

  Here is the situation : Our Dev Team has heterogeneous OS systems, scattered between 32-bit and 64-bit. This is not ideal, we are actually planning to homogenize our infrastructure, but in the meantime we have to deal with it. The issue is that when a 32-bit developer checks out a 64-bit solution on SVN, he has to manually change the target platforms all over again to get it compiled (not to mention other side problems) My question is : What clean (though temporary) solution could be addressed in such situation, permitting each developer to keep his default project/platform settings while checking out and in from SVN. I guess that -at least for the first time a project/solution is checked out, a dev still has to tweak the setting manually to compile it properly. After that, according to relevant SVN filters, it is possible to ignore some settings files (which ones, by the way?) I am open to all clever and detailed suggestions. Thanks.

  I have a bit of a task before me. (DB2 Database) I need to create a table that will be a child table (is that what it is called in SQL?) I need it so that it has a foreign key constraint with my other table, so when the parent table is modified (record deleted) the child table also loses that record. Once I have the table, I also need to populate it with the data from the other table (if there is an easy way to UPDATE this). If you could point me in the right direction, this would help alot, as I do not even know what syntax to look for. Thanks in advance

• Is it possible to find out what FlashBuilder is doing during compilation?

  I've found that Flash Builder 4 (formerly Flex Builder) has trouble working with large projects. After a certain point, builds seem to take longer and longer. I've tried many different ways of improving build time including: Moving embedded resources into externally linked projects. Using -incremental. Tweaking the .ini jvm settings including memory and -server. Turning off automatic build (I'd prefer not to have to do this, because one of the main reasons for using an IDE is to be told about errors as you make them). Deleting the project and re-checking out from the repository. While some of these may help a bit, the performance is still annoyingly slow. I feel if I knew what was taking so long I could refactor my projects to build faster. Is there some setting that tells FlashBuilder to let me see what parts of the build process take so much time?

All the examples on the internet suggest doing something like The initial mysql> is just the prompt I get after logging in. mysql> mysqldump -u user -p pass myDBName | NewDBName.out; But when I do this I get You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds ... to use near 'mysqldump -u user -p pass myDBName | NewDBName.out' Since I have already logged in do I need to use -u and -p? Not doing so gives me the same error. Can you see what is wrong?

• Embedded C++, any tips to avoid a local thats only used to return a value on the stack?

  I have a local that's only used for the purposes of checking the result from another function and passing it on if it meets certain criteria. Most of the time, that criteria will never be met. Is there any way I can avoid this "extra" local? I only have about 1MB of storage for my binary, and I have several thousand function calls that follow this pattern. I know it's a minor thing, but if there's a better pattern I'd love to know!   I'm writing a compiler and I have gone through all the steps (tokenizing, parsing, syntax tree structures, etc.) that they show you in all the compiler books. (Please don't comment with the link to the "Resources for writing a compiler" question!). I have chosen to use NASM together with alink as my backend. Now my problem is: I just can't find any good resources for learning NASM and assembly in general. The wikibook (german) on x86 assembly is horrible. They don't even explain the code they write there, I currently can't even get simple things like adding 1 to 2 and outputting the result working. Where can I learn NASM x86 assembly?

• TFS 2010 Source Branches Never The Same

  I have my root branch lets call it Alpha and one branch that was branched from that root lets call it Beta. I made some changes in the Beta branch and merged them back to Alpha. In theory now Alpha and Beta should be identical branches and when I do a diff they are identical. If I attempt to merge Alpha with Beta again without making any changes the changes I originally merged from Beta to Alpha will merge again from Alpha to Beta. Completing that merge and checking in the branches are the same. Now I can merge again. I can do this over and over again with no end. I was just wondering if anyone has ran into this problem before and how it can be fix. At first I thought it was harmless but when I make more changes in the Beta branch and merge the new changes as well as the original changes get merges overriding changes to these files making a mess. • Should I make sure arguments aren't null before using them in a function.

  The title may not really explain what I'm really trying to get at, couldn't really think of a way to describe what I mean. I was wondering if it is good practice to check the arguments that a function accepts for nulls or empty before using them. I have this function which just wraps some hash creation like so. Public Shared Function GenerateHash(ByVal FilePath As IO.FileInfo) As String If (FilePath Is Nothing) Then Throw New ArgumentNullException("FilePath") End If Dim _sha As New Security.Cryptography.MD5CryptoServiceProvider Dim _Hash = Convert.ToBase64String(_sha.ComputeHash(New IO.FileStream(FilePath.FullName, IO.FileMode.Open, IO.FileAccess.Read))) Return _Hash End Function As you can see I just takes a IO.Fileinfo as an argument, at the start of the function I am checking to make sure that it is not nothing. I'm wondering is this good practice or should I just let it get to the actual hasher and then throw the exception because it is null.? Thanks.
