• Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

  I have mailserver configure using dovecot+postfix+mysql and it was runnig fine in the server(Ubuntu Server). But during last week it stopped working correctly. It doesn't send email. When I try to telnet localhost smtp I'm connecting successfully but when I do mail from:<[email protected]> and hit Enter it hangs on, nothing happen. Having reviewed /var/log/mail.log file I've found out that probably(99%) the problem is on postfix when it is trying to connect to MySQL server. If you see the log file given below you can see that it says Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2). • How do I manipulate a jqGrid's search/filters?

  I have a jqGrid with a navBar that has search: true and multipleSearch: true. I would like to add a button to my UI that automatically adds an additional rule to the search. I've tried manipulating the postData for the filter directly, but values added this way don't show up in the search UI. I've also tried accessing the search box directly using jQuery, like this: $('#fbox_list').searchFilter().add(); $('#fbox_list .sf .data input').each(function(index) { alert($(this).val()); }); But, in addition to feeling hackish, it only works if the user has already clicked on the search button (the fbox_list div is not constructed on load). Has anyone else dealt with an issue like this?

• How to use @FileUpload.GetHtml inside Html.BeginForm and sumbit FilesList

  There is a default submit button for the @FileUpload.GetHtml. But I am expecting to have a submit button inside the Html begin form and use that substitution to submit the list of files with some more parameters. But when I do that the passing IEnumerable is always null in the Action method.   I always read about this funny weight value in the Android documentations. Now I want to try it for the first time but it isn't working at all. As I understand it from the documentations this layout: <LinearLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal"> <Button android:text="Register" android:id="@+id/register" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="10dip" weight="1" /> <Button android:text="Not this time" android:id="@+id/cancel" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="10dip" weight="1" /> </LinearLayout> should create two buttons that are horizontally aligned and share the space equally. The problem is the two buttons don't grow to fill the space. The result is something like this: I would like the buttons to grow and fill the whole line.

• Allowing interaction with a UIView under another UIView

  Is there a simple way of allowing interaction with a button in a UIView that lies under another UIView - where there are no actual objects from the top UIView on top of the button? For instance, at the moment I have a UIView (A) with an object at the top and an object at the bottom of the screen and nothing in the middle. This sits on top of another UIView that has buttons in the middle (B). However, I cannot seem to interact with the buttons in the middle of B. I can see the buttons in B - I've set the background of A to clearColor - but the buttons in B do not seem to receive touches despite the fact that there are no objects from A actually on top of those buttons. EDIT - I still want to be able to interact with the objects in the top UIView Surely there is a simple way of doing this? Many thanks, D

My approach is to use the built-in state functionality, but how to use it confuses me. How would I go about knowing when a user clicked on the annotation button? • MS Access 2003 - Message Box: How can I answer "ok" automatically through code

  So a couple silly questions: If I include this in some event: MsgBox " ", vbOkOnly, "This little message box" could I then with some more code turn around and 'click the ok button. So that basically the message boox automatically pops up, and then automatically goes away? I know its silly because you want to know, why do you want the message box then..... well a) i just want to know if you can do that, and what would be the command b) i have some basic shapes (shape objects) that are made visible when the message box appears. But without having the message box there, there is no temporary disruption of code while waiting for the button to be clicked, and therefor those pretty image objects being made visible does take effect on the the form. So I really do not need the message box, just the temp disruption that shows the objects. Thanks!

• Code Bubbles: Disruption comes to the IDE

  If you’re like me, you might see the open source Eclipse IDE as a copy or, more generously, a port of the Microsoft’s Visual Studio for the non-.NET world.  It’s not that Microsoft invented the IDE (I would credit Borland with that), but they really took the idea and ran with it for the first version of Visual Studio .NET in 2002.  The question is whether someone outside of Microsoft could take the modern IDE yet another major step forward in both principle and productivity. I think that has actually happened already, and I think the innovator in question is a second-year Computer Science PhD student at Brown, named Andrew Bragdon.  His project, which he calls Code Bubbles, is an IDE that allows for editing, debugging and exploration of code in “bubbles” which remind me a little bit of the discrete note tiles on OneNote…but they’re much more than that.  Bubbles actually allow for call stack traversal, saved debug sessions, sophisticated breakpoint and value watch behaviors and more.  And because bubbles, unlike windows, are borderless, and focus on code fragments rather than whole files, the de-cluttering effect is unbelievably liberating.  The best way to understand what Code Bubbles does is to watch the screencast video:     Code Bubbles is an IDE for Java development.  Why didn’t Microsoft come up with something like this for .NET devs?  Between the existing features in Visual Studio 2010, its WPF code editor, and the fact that OneNote’s UI bears some affinity to Code Bubbles’, it’s interesting that Microsoft still has not thought outside of its own “box” to get us something like this. Heck, that’s easy for me to say.  But it’s easy for you to say that you’d like something like this in Visual Studio sometime soon.  That’s because the ASP.NET site within UserVoice is taking votes on this very issue.  Just click this link and vote! • Problem with waveOutWrite and waveOutGetPosition deadlock

  I'm working on an app that plays audio continuously using the waveOut... API from winmm.dll. The app uses "leapfrog" buffers, which are basically a bunch of arrays of samples that you dump into the audio queue. Windows plays them seamlessly in sequence, and as each buffer completes Windows calls a callback function. Inside this function, I load the next set of samples into the buffer, process them however, and then dump the buffer back into the audio queue. In this way, the audio plays indefinitely. For animation purposes, I'm trying to incorporate waveOutGetPosition into the application (since the "buffer done" callbacks are irregular enough to cause jerky animation). waveOutGetPosition returns the current position of playback, so it's hyper-precise. The problem is that in my application, making calls to waveOutGetPosition eventually causes the application to lock up - the sound stops and the call never returns. I've boiled things down to a simple app that demonstrates the problem. You can run the app here: http://www.musigenesis.com/SO/waveOut%20demo.exe If you just hear a tiny bit of piano over and over, it's working. It's just meant to demonstrate the problem. The source code for this project is here: http://www.musigenesis.com/SO/WaveOutDemo.zip The first button runs the app in leapfrog mode without making the calls to waveOutGetPosition. If you click this, the app will play forever without breaking (the X button will close it and shut it off). The second button starts the leapfrogger and also starts a forms timer that calls the waveOutGetPosition and displays the current position. Click this and the app will run for a short while and then lock up. On my laptop, it usually locks up in 15-30 seconds; at most it's taken a minute. I have no idea how to fix this, so any help or suggestions would be most welcome. I've found very few posts on this issue, but it seems that there is a potential deadlock, either from multiple calls to waveOutGetPosition or from calls to that and waveOutWrite that occur at the same time. It's possible that I'm calling this too frequently for the system to handle.

• Silverlight WCF method calls fails if WCF service is not running initially

  Quite simply I have a generic Silverlight 3.0 web page that is calling a Ping method on a WCF service. I do not have the WCF service running initially when I navigate to this Silverlight page. As expected I get a communication exception when I press the Silverlight button to call the Ping method, which I catch. Now if I start the WCF service and press the Ping button I still get the communication exception. How come? The other scenario is the WCF is running when I navigate to the SL page and the Ping method call works. I turn off the WCF service, ping method fails. Turn it back on and the ping method succeeds. How come if it's not running initially the ping method fails always? I could include some sample code if you'd like but this is just a real simple Hello World example using basichttpbinding, straight out the book. Thanks, Craig

• I keep getting a "System InvalidOperationException occurred in System Windows Forms dll" error in VB

  I've just started learning VB.NET with VS 9.0; a small application I'm working on keeps returning an "A first chance exception of type System InvalidOperationException occurred in System Windows Forms dll" error from the Immediate Window. The application has almost zero functionality so far, it consists of a menu strip with: File About |Open |Save |Save As |Quit The only code I have written opens an Open File dialog, a Save As dialog, an About window with background sound and an OK button, and the Quit button which exits. Since there is almost no code for me to search through, I can't understand why there would be an error. The program runs just fine when I'm debugging it too.

• UIToolbar UIBarButtonItem Alignment question

  I need to create a UIToolbar that has two UIBarButtonItems. The 1st button must be centered and the 2nd item must be right aligned. I understand and use Flexible spacing and it works great when I need to balance buttons across the UIToolbar, but with only two buttons, I can't seem to perfectly center the middle button. I've even initialized the view.toolbarItems array with NSArray *items = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:fixed, flex, center_button, flex, right_button, nil]; and set fixed.width = right_button.width ... but still, the center_button is never perfectly centered.

• WebBrowser control not submitting form, IE 7 works

  We are using a WebBrowser control in our win forms application which is running in terminal services. IE 7 is the browser that is installed for the session. We are using WebForms to generate the web pages. If we try and submit a web page in the WebBrowser control it does not work. The submit button does not push down. If we try and submit a web page in IE 7 that is installed on the same machine it works as expected. This is only an issue for one person. The WebBrowser control is working for other users. Any thoughts on how I can debug why the submit button is not submitting for the WebBrowser control? Thanks in advance.

• Crash when trying to get NSManagedObject from NSFetchedResultsController after 25 objects?

  Hey everyone, I'm relatively new to Core Data on iOS, but I think I've been getting better with it. I've been experiencing a bizarre crash, however, in one of my applications and have not been able to figure it out. I have approximately 40 objects in Core Data, presented in a UITableView. When tapping on a cell, a UIActionSheet appears, presenting the user with a UIActionSheet with options related to the cell that was selected. • Blacklight Expander problem while expanding programmatically

  Hi, I am doing a silverlight project in Silverlight 4 and I included the BlackLight project in my project so that I could use their new controls, especialy the dockpanel and the autoexpander, which is causing me at the moment some little problems. What I would like to do is to have several auto-expander that will expand or collapsed when I click on button. In my case more specifically, each auto-expander have a set of parameter to fill, which in turn will fill the other expander and the current one would collaps and the just filled one would expand. The idea is simple, yet when I use a button which is on one of my expander, it only works once... It would expand/collapse the first time, then after that, nothing. I trace the code and it seems to go through just fine, but the property value won't change Here is my code Private Sub BtnExpand_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.RoutedEventArgs) Handles BtnExpand.Click ClientExpander.IsExpanded = False ProjetExpander.IsExpanded = True End Sub Could it be a known bug, or must I reset some flags to make it work?
