    Hi, I need to convert an IQueryable to List(is it possible to convert to IList?). There had not been an problem if it was not that i need to Cast because I have interfaces to my objects. I've tried most things but for some reason I must run Cast first and then ToList() which generates System.NullReferenceException.     How do you easily convert an excel file into a XML file? When trying to save as an XML File, it complains that the file does not have an XML mapping. Clicking help brings up pretty complicated stuff about XML Mapping file, XLD and some other acronyms. Why is it so complicated? Lately I've realized that tab delimited, CSV and others are prone to formating issues (comas in a field, new lines, quotes, ...). So I think that XML is a better way to process excel data. Please advise. Maybe a freeway tool?

    I have virtualized laptops before, when someone gets a new one and doesn't want to quite let go of their old laptop for fear of losing something. This was using VMWare Workstation 7.X. In 8.0 when I go to "Convert a Physical Machine to a Virtual Machine", it asks for an IP address and doesn't give the option to virtualize the machine it's running on. How to I get VMWare to virtualize it's current system? I tried typing in Localhost, and 127.0.0.1 but that didn't do it.

It fails with the messages: ./../sox FAIL util: Unable to load LAME encoder library (libmp3lame). ./../sox FAIL formats: can't open output file `funktech.mp3': How can i check if lame has been installed correct? How can i get sox to find the mp3Library? edit: I did not install sox at all, it works without installing directly from the commandline. Lame was installed by following the instructions on their site: ./configure make make install which results in the following files being found in /usr/local/lib/ : libmp3lame.dylib, libmp3lame.la, libmp3lame.a Maybe symlinking libmp3lame.la, which is marked as executable, to /usr/bin would help?

Here is the documentation http://www.doctrine-project.org/documentation/manual/1_2/en/working-with-models#dealing-with-relations:retrieving-related-records My code is $User = Doctrine_Core::getTable("User")->find(1); when I access relations by $User-Phonenumbers, it works. When I convert User object to array by using toArray() method, it does not convert relations to array. It simply display $User data. Am i missing something?

    I use a tool to render LaTeX equations as PNG. The resulting images are in RGBA8888 format. I would like to extract the luminance (grayscale from RGB channels, multiplied by the A channel) as my new alpha channel, set the picture fully black, and save the result in Gray1Alpha8 (G1A8) format. So far I've only managed to get G1A4 or G8A8 but not G1A8. Also, the resulting picture looks like it's not multiplied correctly… convert original.png \ \( -clone 0 -alpha extract \) \ \( -clone 0 -clone 1 -compose multiply -composite \) \ -delete 0 +swap -alpha off -compose copy_opacity -composite -colorspace Gray -depth 4 result.png What am I missing?

    Occasionally I need to put registry entries into batch files to use in login scripts, unattended installers, etc. While it's pretty easy to add one or two registry commands to a batch file using reg.exe, when there is a large amount of registry data, it becomes tedious. I usually just end up merging an external reg file in those cases, which I would like to avoid, since it ruins the self-contained nature of the batch file. Does anybody know of any tools which can automatically convert a .reg file to a series of REG ADD and REG DELETE commands? This would make life a lot easier! Thanks.

    How to convert an large image and embed it into postscript? I used to convert the bitmap into HEX codes and render with colorimage. It works for small icons but I hit a /limitcheck error in ghostscript when I try to embed little larger images. It seem there is a memory limit for bitmap in ghostscript. I am looking a solution which can run without 3rd party/pre-processing other then ghostscript itself.
