  • Sd card bigger than 2gb is not recognized in ubuntu 12.04

    When I insert a card up to 2gb it is immediately seen by the system but if try it with bigger one it's not seen. I presume the issue is not due to the card reader itself as it reads all cards under windows 7 but due to linux driver. I could see some people having similar issues but no solution. Any help appreciated. GParted doesnt see cards bigger than 2gb.   • 12.04 making BCM4313 card work with aircrack-ng?

    I'm a real Linux Noob, just started using it (this month) and until now i had no issues. now i'm trying to set-up aircrack-ng on my laptop, but it seems like it's using the worst card possible (or almost) there is a TON of tutorial on this card (seems to be hell to set-up) i have tryed some, but i ended up uninstalling my drivers, messing with my desktops, and ended by having no more "X" to close my windows (i have no clue how i ended there) i just re-installed my linux (took me 2 hours to setup everything again), but now i'm a bit "Scared" to try tutorials randomly again.   • Upgraded to 12.04 now wifi doesn't work

    My laptop's wifi stopped working when I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 (wired works). I just reinstalled 12.04 over my old 12.04 on which wifi didn't work either in an attempt to restore any settings I may have accidentally changed, but it still doesn't work. I also used a wired connection to install updates in case this bug has been fixed, but it has not.     I am new in Ubuntu and I had a big trouble with wifi. My ubuntu 12.10 doesn't detect my wifi card and I can't toggle the "activate wireless" option on the tasks bar (it is grey). I searched for drivers to make it work, but nothing worked for me. Can anyone give me a hand?     I'd like a function to animate an object moving from point A to point B over time, such that it reaches B at some fixed time, but its position at any time is randomly perturbed in a continuous fashion, but never goes backwards. The objects move along straight lines, so I only need one dimension. Mathematically, that means I'm looking for some continuous f(x), x ? [0,1], such that: f(0) = 0 f(1) = 1 x < y ? f(x) = f(y) At "most" points f(x + d) - f(x) bears no obvious relation to d. (The function is not uniformly increasing or otherwise predictable; I think that's also equivalent to saying no degree of derivative is a constant.) Ideally, I would actually like some way to have a family of these functions, providing some seed state. I'd need at least 4 bits of seed (16 possible functions), for my current use, but since that's not much feel free to provide even more. To avoid various issues with accumulation errors, I'd prefer the function not require any kind of internal state. That is, I want it to be a real function, not a programming "function".

  • Creating yahoo pipe from google cal feed results in german language headings [closed]

    I'm trying to create a Yahoo pipe which combines 4 google calendar RSS feeds into a single feed sorted by date. I've created a yahoo pipe to do this (Which can be found here) The problem is, the headings all appear in German!     (I've looked at a few other questions related to this, but I've only found old questions with people saying that they're having problems, or anticipating Snow Leopard fixing them; no recent updates.) I'm looking to sync my Google Contacts & Calendars, and Gmail, with my Mac & iPhone. The iPhone I have currently set up thus: IMAP for Mail Exchange (Google Sync) for Contacts & Calendars The Mac: Address Book: built-in sync iCal: CalDAV, configured as a Google account I haven't been syncing Gmail to Apple Mail, because I was having weird IMAP glitches every so often that just got to annoying. Will Exchange / Google Sync work for this at all? Any suggestions there? Here are the other problems I'm having. Address Book only syncs certain fields (for example, Birthdays don't sync at all). I believe this is a list of the information that's synced. Address Book's "Synchronize with Google" checkbox doesn't stay checked when I quit Address Book. I think iCal is working fine, for the most part. Any suggestions on how to improve this setup? Why doesn't Address Book / Google Contacts sync stay enabled? Could I use Exchange for it like I am on the iPhone? Will that sync all the fields, including Birthdays, etc.? Thanks in advance!

  • How to share text, pictures and video to restricted set of users

    I want to share pictures and videos of my kid growing up but I don't want it to be open to the public. I just want me and my wife to be able to add material and then share with grandparents and friends who would be given a username/password or some other solution that authenticates them. This content would preferably be available remotely over the internet or downloaded periodically to the allowed viewers computers. The second option most likely means they would have to install a client, which I am not too fond of doing (I would have to ask them to install it, help configure for different platforms, ...) I'm at the start but I would like software that also allows export of the data (if one day I want to migrate to a different solution). Folder sharing I don't know if Windows folder sharing is reliable, robust and safe enough to share over the internet. Dropbox could be a software solution, but it's limited to 2GB and requires receivers to also install and configure software. A folder is just a collection of files, so it would be harder to keep them organized with text describing the pictures/video Email I could email the content every now and then but videos are almost always too big to go as attachments This would also not provide a history of updates to anyone just recently joining in Are there other solutions to achieve this? NOTE: I also thought that software to run a local or remote blog could be an option but we aren't allowed to ask those questions on superuser because one admin doesn't like cloud-computing questions. But if you do think it's the best approach and can suggest a solution, do state it in the answers anyway!
