    In BitTorent Statistics there is a field "Total Ratio" that is the ratio between total downloads and uploads. i have heard that this ratio affects BitTorrent'ss performance. If the ratio is better then BitTorrent Network provides you services on priority. And If the ratio is down (less uploads) then the BitTorrent provides you services on average or below average priorities. Is there something like that.....

  • Uploading many large files to a remote server

    I am in the process of creating an offsite backup, and need to do a initial load of data. Currently, that's about 400Gb, give or take 10Gb or so... The backup system is producing files which are about 4Gb each, and has some other, smaller related files also. So, i need to transfer all 400ish gigs to a remote server, but how? What is the best method? I have full remote access to the server, so i can install anything i need to install. There are Windows, Linux and a Solaris VM running on the box itself, so any of those can be used there, and i have Windows and Linux at home. I have 2 internet connections in house, 10Mb/s uploading on each, so something that could potentially split the number of connections would be handy (kind of like GetRight, but in reverse... PutRight?).

    Imagine you only have DSL with 5mbps Down and 2mbps Up. Is it possible to have 10 of these for example and combine them in a way that would increase the upstrean bandwidth to one server? In my head it works like this: intranet with one gateway/router router connected to multi wan load ballancer on each ballancer wan port router with vpn clinet set up, tunneling to a server ?some? software on the server in cloud joining all these connection into one interface again I would need this mostly for big uploads to a server, downlink to the office is not that important at all. Does it even make sense? I drew an image to clarify.

  • Utilising a Magento server cluster to drive hot reindexing

    We've asked a similar question in the past, basically we have a very large Magento store with 500000 products which are currently reindexed once a day, during the night. We'd like to speed this process up significantly, we're at about 4-5 hours now. The solution was suggested for us to do something like this on a server cluster and replicate the database changes after they've been done on a machine that isn't being bothered with serving customers. But what is the mechanism for that? How do we replicate those changes across to the live site from the server cluster? Can someone point me in the right direction here?

    Hi, I've been testing this upload script and it looks really good, but i just can't get it to post values, that i have extracted from inputs. Everything is looking good and it seems I'm writing everything correctly but it just stops SWF DEBUG: Event: uploadStart : File ID: SWFUpload_0_0, there's my piece of code which causes these troubles .bind('uploadStart', function(event, file){ $(this).addPostParam( "title", "asd"); }) I'm using it as jquery plugin, maybe that's the problem?     Has anybody experienced Timeout error with TwitPic API using ASIFormDataRequest when uploading multiple images? Status updates without images are fine. I was trying to upload the exact same 2 images. The first request went through fine, but the second one was timeout. It also happens when multiple images are uploaded, some went through, but some didn't. It's happening randomly and I have no idea how to debug it anymore.

  • Does writing data to server using Java URL class require response from server?

    I am trying to upload files using Java URL class and I have found a previous question on stack-overflow which explains very well about the details, so I try to follow it. And below is my code adopted from the sniplet given in the answer. My problem is that if I don't make a call to one of connection.getResponseCode() or connection.getInputStream() or connection.getResponseMessage() or anything which is related to reponse from the server, the request will never be sent to server. Why do I need to do this? Or is there any way to write the data without getting the response? P.S. I have developed a server-side uploading servlet which accepts multipart/form-data and save it to files using FileUpload. My question is can I show the image the user has selected from their system without uploading it to a system, I dont really want to do two uploads, unless I can do the first upload silently?     Hi folks, I code primarily in PHP and Perl. I have a client who is insisting on seeking video submissions (any encoding) from the public via one of their pages rather than letting YouTube do its job. Server in question is a virtual machine and I can adjust ini settings for max post, max upload size etc as needed. My initial thought is to use a Flash based uploader with PHP on the back end but I wondered if someone might have useful advice and experience on the subject? Peace JG

    I'm working on re-writing a WinForms application into Silverlight. One use case in the WinForms app allows users to drag TIFF images (of faxes) from Outlook directly onto an "attach an image or fax to this case" control in the WinForms app. Is there a Silverlight 4 control which allows for the same functionality? It's important to realize that saving the file to the local filesystem and then selecting and uploading the file with a standard upload control will not meet the business requirements as outlined in the project.

    Hello, I am doing some work which involves drawing video frames in real time in OpenGL ES. Right now I am using glTexImage2D to transfer the data, in the absence of Pixel Buffer Objects and the like. A below answer suggests that glTexImage2D is always blocking, even if texture object referenced does is not used for any drawing. Is there a way to do a nonblocking texture upload with OpenGL ES (any version)? Thank you very much, Sean

I tried to use objectiveflickr but it takes away the exif information so the photo is no longer geotagged.
