    Hello, I have an update panel which contains a few controls, a Place Holder which is dynamically populated (i don't know if this is what is causing the error) and after the a post is made the server is returning 0|error|500| only that, everything is working fine in my development machine, but something is wrong on server (Windows Server 2008, IIS 7) any thoughts about what's happening or any approach to catch that error on server and view the details of the error. thanks.

    I'm loading content into several divs with ajax_loadContent <div class="content"><div class="container" id="contents2"><!-- Empty div for dynamic content -->Loading content. please wait...</div><script type="text/javascript">ajax_loadContent('contents2','http://www.thewebsite.com/blank.php');</script></div> Basically, I don't want to load anything until the user clicks on the links I have specified to load content into these instances, please help! Right now, I'm loading a blank file to show nothing in the div.

  • buttons in a datagrid in flex

    Hi All, i am using a data grid in flex and i am generating data from a mysql server. However, my problem is with adding a button within the datagrid so each row has one. i have set the columns itemRenderer to mx.controls.Button although with the buttons shown in the grid there is no label on them (even though one has been set) and the assigned click event does not trigger when hitting the button. anyone have any ideas or guidance on what i am doing wrong.     what algorithms should I explore to implement a feature which lets a user find other user located near him , the latitude and the longitudes of all the user are known in advance and are fixed [not dynamic]. Also i believe that there should be a better way to store such data then simply storing the lat , long of the user against his user id in a database.What are the efficient ways to handle this ?

    We are performing a pen test on a simple asp application that uses MS SQL Database. It seems for the authentication they are using dynamic constructed queries but escaping single qoutes. When we use Unicode quotes like %uFFO7,%u02b9 etc we are able to successfully inject SQL injections. Want to understand is it more a kind of configuration issue of IIS server to cannonicalize Unicode characters or the way the validation function to escape single quotes is written is the cause of the problem?

  • Silverlight MVVM add record from user control

    I have a User Control for searching container numbers. If the user enters a container number that's new to the system then I want to tell the VM "I have a new record to add". The MVVM method avoids using Events to communicate with the VM as they create code-behind. Should I create a Dependency Property to trigger the VM but I don't think I've seen other controls with a "NewRecord" property? Any thoughts?

    I want to access a MovieClip in another scene than I'm currently in. More specific I want to set a TextField to a certain value from a "preloader"-scene. This is for handling totally dynamic language phrases. Maybe this is the wrong way. I'm loading a XML with language phrases that I want to replace the textfields with. We could do this by altering all MovieClips, but I think this could be a smart solution, if it's possible! :)

  • Compressing ASPX pageview in code or compress HTTP in IIS?

    In the past, with pages with large viewstate I have overridden the PageStatePersister class so when the state is saved I compress it. On Load I decompress it. I have haven't really thought about it, but could IIS handle something like this better? The reason I did this was to keep my pages slimmer because I have a lot of custom controls on the page and the viewstate was huge. So it must be very long. Could I wait a moment (about 500 ms) before launching the action , in order to look if user do an action or not ? that's possible ?

    I'm conflicted between a "read once, use memory+pointers to files" and a "read when necessary" approach. The latter is of course much easier (no additional classes needed to store the whole dir structure), but IMO it is slower? A little clarification: I'm writing a simple build system, that read a project file, checks if all files are present, and runs some compile steps. The file tree is static, so the first option doesn't need to be very dynamic and only needs to be built once every time the program is run. Thanks

  • Using the same variable across multiple files in C++

    In the process of changing some code, I have spilt some functions into multiple files. I have the files controls.cpp and display.cpp and I would like to be able to have access to the same set of variables in both files. I don't mind where they are initialized or declared, as long as the functions in both files can use them. This was not an issue when the functions were in the same file, but now it seems almost impossible after an hour of googling and trying various things.
